TheRapidsNerd Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 MORE TRACK!!! This morning at around 8:00, workers were unloading a container with Spongebob track and supports. the track is an aqua-ish color and appeared to be track for the station and the first turn out of the station. With vertical construction finished on Avatar, look for Spongebob construction to begin very soon. Oh great! There goes my insomnia again. Was fun to watch Avatar's progression over the webcams and should be the same for Spongy. You might say I'm "Having a wonderful time". Any chance they'll bring back the Slime Geyser? Man I miss that thing.
Vffreak07 Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Alas! I have pictures! I EVEN TOUCHED THE TRACK! Boo-yah baby!
Balmera Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Awesome! There are 5 Rollercoaster and all are from european manufactures (3 from germany!) That is a reason to visit Nickelodeon Universe.
Sticky Nicky Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 The Pepsi Ripsaw Roller Coaster sign has been taken down. So have the Spongebob Posters on the wall. I wonder when the Orange Steak sign will be up. BTW Looty, do you know when Ripsaw will get it's paint job? I imagine that they will close it soon after New Years when the crowds start to die down again.
kraken613 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Are we going to get to see your pictures of track? Im excited to see it. Please post them!
Vffreak07 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Yeah I will ASAP but Photobucket is being as slow as the Slowsky's.
Looty Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I don't actually know for sure when the scheduled paint job will take place on Ripsaw, but i'd imagine sometime in the next 4-6 weeks. The Park claims that they are on schedule for a March opening, but lets not forget that the Euro Fighter will take a lot longer to assemble than the half pipe...and they only have about 2 months left. Me personally, i'd say they are behind schedule so if they want everything done by March then look for A LOT to happen in the next 2 months.
Vffreak07 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I got the pics up on this site, and on Valleyfairzone. Take a look!
kraken613 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I did look at them. Thanks alot for taking them!
kumba830 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 wow their really breezing trough construction oh! um.... YES! euro fighter track has arrived!!!!

Looty, Timberland Twister went up in about a month as far as vertical construction goes. SSRBP is about the same length and only a little taller than TT, so by the end of January/early Feburary, I think that Spongebob will be ready to start basic testing.
Sticky Nicky Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Sorry for the double post, but on the Spongebob webcam is the crane that helped lift the track pieces for Avatar, which might mean that vertical construction begings tonight.
TheRapidsNerd Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Not much happened last night or today. There lookes like a wee bit o track poised and ready for something in the webcam. Tonight maybe? Randome dorky tip: By saving the webcam pic every so often, you too can watch a coaster rise up in classic flip book fashion (or relive your 80's hard rock time lapse stage construction days ) Um...yeah.... Ok, hope they start building tonight. I'm on my way....I'm on my waaay ay ay, Home Sweet Home......
Vffreak07 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 RapidsNerd, your name gave me a killer idea. A rapids ride in MOA! That would be amazing! Have it run through the log flume!
TheRapidsNerd Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 ^ (looks puzzled and scratches head) Oh, I don't know about that one.... Kidding. I'd be for that as long as they spring for the rapids boats that have seat backs. The mini boats like at Holiday World or former Myrtle Beach Pavilion might fit the scale nicely. Wild Thornberry's theme maybe? Good call my friend! EDIT: Well, after 2 nights of el zilcho on spongy, me thinks stuff will happen after New Years. Yes, captain obvious strikes again....
holyblakbelt Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 ^ Or a real left field idea, make the log flume/Green Slime Falls into a rapids ride! I know that is unlikely, but a guy can dream right?
TheRapidsNerd Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 ^You and Vffreak07 are on to something there. Reinvent it as a rapids AND bring back the slime geyser for decor. Wishful thinking, sure, but a good dream just the same. Slime Geyser > Wild Thornberrys (even though Flea is cool).
kraken613 Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Well some of the trucks have moved around. Getting track maybe?
TheRapidsNerd Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Good morning! It's 5:30 am here in Huntsville and guess what I found? Who's sea blue supports have shown up today? Sponge Bob Square Pants.
EuroTre Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Hooray. Something new for me to do this year. And, for those people who are upset/confused over the Spongebob theme job, who cares? I'll ride it if I go (and that's a pretty good IF). It may be a little kiddie for some people, but I'll go. However, the character appearances are going to be annoying.
