asr Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 I'm guessing either trims for Windigo, since the second half is pretty insane, and Windigo supposedly isn't aging well, and trims would cut down on roughness. The other possibility would be a renovation for Ore Cart, maybe adding a large coaster section (perhaps even a GCI twister) onto it.
Adrenaline_Rush Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 I think Ore Cart is going to be modified, into a REAL coaster, with drops and high speed turns, and airtime, that or trims will be added to Windigo, since the sencond part is pretty insane.
ebtkid Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 When you said people entered from another side on the Ore Cart, does that mean that it is the "Thrill Ride" from Deep Valley? (or whatever it was)
coasterdude5 Posted August 21, 2007 Author Posted August 21, 2007 ^ Haha, no, I meant they entered the park from another side. Â Trust me, this has nothing to do with Deep Valley. Â Small update: Â I'll be completely honest with everybody: I'm stuck. Â First I tried planned the Project Stream watercoaster, that turned out to look pretty bad, so I went to my next plan, the hypercoaster. Â The hypercoaster was going to be a signifigant modification of Windigo. The loops would have been removed, and a second lift hills and some camelbacks added... Â But after finishing it, I wasn't satisfied at all, it looked pretty tacky. Â So right now I'm taking a break and focusing soley on The Stranahan Fairgrounds for a few days... Leave some replies there! Â Any suggestions on what I should do with this?
asr Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 What about using the GCI wooden coaster plan? The park doesn't have a wooden coaster after Ore Cart closed, and it would fit the feel of the park well and be an excellent ride. Or maybe a Hypercoaster seperate from Windigo? Or how about a Storm Runner-esque ride going off the side of the cliff?
brandon Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 or you can work on ore cart and make it like realy fast.
Obscurerider Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I've been following your parks for a while and I have to say you've done a great job. But on to a suggestion I think you should build a dive coaster or possibly some more flat rides.
CoasterNut17 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 What about using the GCI wooden coaster plan? The park doesn't have a wooden coaster after Ore Cart closed, and it would fit the feel of the park well and be an excellent ride. Or maybe a Hypercoaster seperate from Windigo? Or how about a Storm Runner-esque ride going off the side of the cliff? Â I like the Storm Runner idea. Whenever I make those in RCT3, they usually look good, and with this park it would look great, and would add to the lineup of the coasters well. By the way, this park looks great! One of your best!
Milkchan Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 A Suspended coaster would be cool. Imagine building a giant drop where Windigo first drop is located, and you have a reason to have 2 lift hills.
coasterdude5 Posted August 24, 2007 Author Posted August 24, 2007 Update Year 5 Announcement  Hello! Sorry I've been busy for the last year, it's been pretty busy around here! We just wrapped up Year 4 and it's time to release the announcement for next year:  TAIGA PARK - The eco-friendly themepark is unveiling a year full of reduced pricing, animal experiences, and more. Admission prices will be cut by 25% for this season only, park manager Jim Hydle stated.  "We want anybody and everybody to have the opportunity to experience the Taiga biome."  Prices will return to last season's rates after this upcoming season. Season pass rates will also follow the same rate pattern.  Also new this year, specially-trained animal experts will be touring the park giving educational talks about animals they will be showing throughout the park.  With the recent closure of all Discovery Stores, Taiga Park's has also closed making room for a new animal-experience building in which guests will have the chance to hold and interact with their favorite native Canadian animals including eagles.  This year is sure to be successful at Taiga Park.  Well I have confirmed that Windigo is safe and will not be modified in any way for next season.  Windigo, looking great as usual.  I don't think I could handle not seeing Windigo while coming in to work everyday.  The lines were short today - typical for the cold early season.  Even the train wasn't crowded.  More soon.
Adrenaline_Rush Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 Yay Windigo is safe, I cant wait to see more. Keep up the good work! Â -Caleb
Obscurerider Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Excellent you pulled the park out of becoming a idea that fades away. Good luck to Tiaga.
coasterdude5 Posted August 26, 2007 Author Posted August 26, 2007 Update Year 5 Â Hello, I've got a small update for everybody today. I've been sent some concept art on the new Experiences - Animal Encounters attraction that is replacing the old Discovery store. They hope to have it operating completely by mid-season. Â It looks like it will be the same from the outside, although I have heard the ceiling might be raised with new skylights... I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Adrenaline_Rush Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Cool store looks great. Man I wish I could build like this.
coasterdude5 Posted August 28, 2007 Author Posted August 28, 2007 Update Year 5 Â It was hotter outside today than usual - Chute de Chute comes in pretty handy! Â The lines were long all day but as soon as I tried to get a quick ride in, the ride went down for an hour... Â Ah well, I need to be working anyway. Â Work is slowly being completed in the new Experiences - Animal Encounters building. Â Don't get excited, this was test track that had been sent in for Windigo 2.0... but since that was cancelled it's going back to the plant. Â Two pieces were sent in... I heard they were going to keep them to use as transfer track but it looks like they won't be doing that now. Â Here's a great shot... More soon.
coasterdude5 Posted August 29, 2007 Author Posted August 29, 2007 Update Year 6 Announcement  DASCHENTAIGA PARK - All new this year at the park:  DASCHEN  Daschen will take its riders up a slow, menacing lift hill before plunging them over 10 stories towards the river. Riders will then experience twist and turns like no other ride in Canada.  The ride is built upon the structure of the former Ore Cart coaster that closed two years prior due to mechanical issues. Daschen was specially designed to utilize the former remaining structure and to incorporate the land into the ride.  Daschen will open next season for the park's sixth season of operation. Prices will return to their previous prices as the discount season comes to a close. While the ride is on the shorter side, it's not on the smaller side!  Today was the last day of Season 5.  Another few months without Windigo...  Here's an interesting shot of Wolverine Bobsleds you don't see often.  I finally got to go inside of Experiences today!  It was great, alot more animals than I expected. More soon - see you for the Year 6 season!
knottslover77 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Looks great, I can't wait to see the woodie. Â --Jay
coasterdude5 Posted August 31, 2007 Author Posted August 31, 2007 Update Year 6 Â Daschen is great! While on the short side, it makes up with tons of laterals, airtime, and more... Â Signage should go up any day now. Â The queue cuts through Ore Cart's former station. Â Second half of the ride... but what's the first drop like? Â I'm glad you asked... Â It's pretty tall and fast. Â The lift hill is huge, especially compared to Windigo's. Â The big turnaround over the entrance area... it taunts people. Â Sixth year of operation.... whoa. Â It got pretty crowded towards the end of the day. Â More soon.
coasterdude5 Posted September 1, 2007 Author Posted September 1, 2007 Update Year 6 Â Everybody forgets about the Mining Expeditions ride... Â I don't think it's ever left with a full train. Could it be the next ride to be replaced??? Â Daschen continues to be a hit at the park. Â The drop is perfect, I think. Â Straight down... well not literally. Â Daschen... through the trees! Â Bridge to Northern Canada... Â Don't forget about Windigo, it's still there! More soon.
Twister II Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 You should try adding in some CS Sets like, Aroundthehorns Catwalks. That would add a little more realism to your coasters. Â Just a thought....
coasterdude5 Posted September 2, 2007 Author Posted September 2, 2007 ^ I haven't downloaded that pack yet, I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for the comment. Â Update Year 6 Â Taiga Park has announced that ANOTHER "major attraction" will be added for next season. That makes two in a row! Now they haven't 'said' that it will be a coaster, but it's all but confirmed. Â The park has already begun to put teaser signs all over Northern Canada. Â Wolverine Bobsled's entrance and queue had to be re-routed to allow for the new area/ride. Â Now it's right next to the snack bar. Â Now the path will go under the trough of Wolverine. Â That's a big hole... Â At least guests can see through the construction wall. Â Hey, you didn't see it from me! Â More soon! The park hasn't said when they will announce the new coaster, but I'll let you know when they do.
asr Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 A B&M themed to Ice Age would be wierd, so I'm, guessing Robocoaster, or perhaps a family oriented X-Car. Or maybe it could be a new family coaster concept from B&M or something.
kraken613 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Looking forward to seeing what the new ride is!
FLIPDUDE Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Few parks maange to get this big... will a download be avalible?
