Just read this news over on RRC. I know Kevin posted on here a bit and was considering coming over to Dubai. I would just like to offer my condolences to his family.

That's too bad, and it's kind of weird, just a few days ago I was wondering how it would be played out if a TPR member died or something.

His family is in my thoughts.

That's sad... he was actually one of my friends on myspace... I really didn't know him that well, but this sucks.

Rest in peace, dude.

(PS: Shouldn't this be in the random thread?)

Wow, I remember him all the way back from my RRC days. He seemed pretty obsessed with the amount of airtime on particular coasters.

My thoughts go out to him and his family.

RRC = rec.roller-coaster, which is a USENET newsgroup. Basically RRC was the precursor to all the roller coaster message boards. Back in the early days of the internet when message boards didn't exist, RRC was the only discussion place available. That's how I knew Robb, Elissa, Dave, Derek, Jeff, and many others.

Kevin posted on there semi-regularly. Again, most of his topics were about the coasters with the most airtime, or if Valleyfair (his local park) would ever build a woodie with extreme airtime. He really really like airtime.

His home park gets a really good woodie, and then he croaks just a few months later. Though I dunno if Renegade qualifies as having extreme airtime or not. Knowing GCII it doesn't.

44 is pretty darn young to eat it.

It's tough on parents when they outlive their children. My condolences to Kevin's family.

I never got to know him (here or on RRC), but it still sad to have a TPR member pass on

How I wish, how I wish you were here.

We're just two lost souls

Swimming in a fish bowl,

Year after year,

Running over the same old ground.

What have we found?

The same old fears.

Wish you were here.

^^ I think he was more excited about rides like Voyage.

Here's one of his posts here:

Was he at the Valleyfair meet in May?

I pretty much agree with his ideas, except for putting a woodie on the beach behind WT. They should leave the beach unmolested.

I don't think Cedar Point is too interested in breaking any airtime records though. That doesn't sell as well as the "tallest, fastest, longest coaster in the whole world" garbage.

Oh crap that suxs, my thought and prayers to his family...

I do remember the name from posts and the like, and I am sure that he will be missed here.

WillMontu, words well said...
