DATman
How can a maze "break down"?
slayrette2329
This is my completely biased view of HHN... 1. I HATE the Bill and Ted Show. It really isn't funny and after listening to it about 40 times already I want to kill the actors so I never have to listen again. It isn't really funny and the fear of Universal getting sued is ruining the show. I know they had to change it almost daily because of lawsuits last year but still there are laws that protect parodies and this is how shows like SNL and Madtv get away with what they do. 2. My favorite houses: The Thing- the sets are amazing as well as the animatronics/puppets Friday the 13th- this is where my bias comes in- I really like this house, the actors do a fantastic job and if you get to see all of the sight gags like the head squishing and the Jason with the sleeping bags, it really makes it. Just DO NOT go while it is still light out. There are windows in the Jaws queue buildings and it ruins some of the effects if there is light. Dead Silence- Puppets creep me out and this house gave me my only legitimate scare so far through the run. I haven't done everything yet- TCM and Vampyr I haven't had time to do them while I've been at work. I also haven't seen Rocky Horror, Freak Show, or Carnival of Carnage... Maybe One day I will be able to...
freestylenut
How can a maze "break down"? I have no idea...the lights seem to have gone out in a section or something. Its a first that I'VE seen in 14 years I've been attending HHN. It screwed up my night and made me miss the Jack show I mentioned above. Thanks thefitness...I didn't even think of youtube. I'll look for it & see what I missed. slayrate is right, F13 AND Club Vampyre are NOT good if there is still daylight!!! (luckily I did F13 at night, but Vampyre has an outside scene that would've benefitted from nighttime).
CoasterJunkie
I was also there on Sunday and in line for the "breakdown" We have no clue as to what happened. A lot of people stayed in line. Speculation went from someone died...to a fight...to someone hit a scareactor. Who Knows. Vampyr's outside scene was NOT helped by darkness...when we went through, there was one chick and she was lounging on some trash cans. BORING. Jacks show was not worth it..IMHO. Basically the same "torture the planted tourist bit" They all lip-synched except for Jack who got to ad-lib and actually speak.

JT3000
Jacks show was not worth it..IMHO. Basically the same "torture the planted tourist bit" They all lip-synched except for Jack who got to ad-lib and actually speak. Chance doesn't lip-synch either. I found the show entertaining, personally. Certainly moreso than The Arrival or Terra Throne.
jackskellington101
There's some more fun on the site added today. The snow cone machine, the spinning knife throwing wheel and the Sleep Well truck are all open for the clicking. Have fun with the Sleep Well puzzle, it took me a few tries. SuPa
They have been clickable for about 3 or 4 days I found the sleepwell one to be the easiest the hardest has to be Jacks fun house puzzle.

Saw the show I missed on YouTube...I know, its not the same as being there in person, but I honestly don't think I missed a whole lot & am glad the Jack show is the one I skipped that night because Rocky Horror SO kicked a$$!!! thefitness
Tomorrow night is the last night before the Carnival packs up. Anyone going on closing night? I'll be there, and you should see a final update to my HHN 17 trip report. I'm going to miss Home for the Holidays
Slacking
Thurs. night was my final night. But, I found Home for the Holidays to be the house that improved the least as the event went on. I loved it at the beginning of the event, but it got worse as the event went on.
Jew
I don't get the obsession for The Thing maze. Not a single scare to be had for our group. A couple of cool set pieces doesn't make up for a complete lack of scares IMO. Psycho Scareapy was my favorite, with Dead Silence a close second (got my only scare of the night in the hallway with all the dolls in their cases---creepy!). Hollywood got the better version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre (3 Leatherfaces at the end?!?) and Friday the 13th (loved the barrel scare---and that was about it). Nightmare on Elm Street was awesome. Jacks was extremely average, but the talent was doing a good job. Vampyre sucked ass. The biggest thing was the lack of scare zones. It felt like being at USF during the day, but with mazes. Couldn't get immersed in the atmosphere, which was a bummer.
bobafett
I went last Saturday the 27th and had a great time. The only house we didn't do was Psycho-Scareapy. All the others houses were great with the exception of Vampyr which was lame, with The Thing being my favorite. I have one question to ask everybody that went, do you think that they were selling too much alcohol? I mean I'm not a prude and I do like to get my drink on every now and then, but it seemed a little excessive to me. It seemed to me as though they had a drink stand every 6 inches and even while waiting in line for the attractions they had drink stands set up every 6 inches. Did they really need to sell that much alcohol? Also weren't they having problems this year and need to bring in extra security or was that a rumor I heard? Am I getting too old or did anyone else think the same thing as I did about the selling of alcohol? I would like to hear everyone's thoughts about this subject. Thanks! freestylenut
I've been going to HHN since HHN III and indeed, the alcohol stands have been OUTRAGEOUS over the last few years. Universal must make a ton of cash because it almost seemed EVERYONE was drinking when I went on 10/7. And like Jew says, I dug the Thing house, but it was hardly my favorite & didn't offer me any scares at all. The sets & props were probably the best of all the houses (next to Dead Silence).
