Time Warner & Sunset Farms purchases remaining land around Great Salt Lake

UTAH. Officials of both Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) Sunset Farms (NYSE: SUF) met today with city officials to finalize a deal where Time Warner and Sunset Farms would acquire the the rest of the site where the former Evergreen Heights county fair once stood. Located on the shores of Salt Lake, the deal is expected to close between 400 - 500 million

"We plan to develop a better tourist attraction here in Utah to better complement and develop our perception as a family vacation destination, not just a chained owned Theme Park" remarked rctfan123 president of Sunset Farms, who formed a partnership with Angus Wynne when he owned the Six Flags parks during the 1960's

"Many may ask, why are we acquiring the former county fair properties? That is simple. Hindsight is everything. It is obvious now that the city officials here in Utah had no business plan or any idea how to fully maximize the value of the remaining land, so they left it to rot. We know now that it was a bad decision, not just for our partnership, but for Utah as a whole." Said Gary Keith, General Manager of Six Flags Sunset Heights in Utah - Soon to be the largest operating Six Flags in the partnership chain.

Along with the acquirement announcement came another that made the land purchase make sense. "We would like to announce the future plans for Six Flags Sunset Heights that will include a new hotel in deserted camp grounds(left), and a water park in abandoned Sea life area(bottom).

The new resort will house 5,000 guest rooms and 5 million square feet of convention and meeting space. It will also include the 100 acre water park and aquarium

"This is a booming vacation market, it is really starting to catch on as a convention getaway as well, so it makes perfect sense for us to be here." Said Time Warner CEO Steve Ross. Many spoke of competition between Six Flags Sunset Heights and the areas family fun centers, in Utah, just miles away. Ross responded: "The resorts will really feed two different niches. Family Vacations, and convention events, for lack a better term. Different companies want different things, some want their employees to bring their families for a good time, in a booming vacation market, and others want city conventions, where all the services are nearby."

Changes began to take effect around the park to link all three sites to become a future resort. Below are overviews of the newly acquired land, courtesy of Sunset Farms and Six Flags Sunset Heights
