Well we spoke to the guy who's company did the control panel programming for it when we were at Renegade, and he says it's open and it's a Batman clone.

It took me ages to get it to work (didnt work in firefox for me) its about 14mins into the video. I think you will have to login then copy and paste the link above into the address bar to watch it.

The ride looks insane. cant really get the layout from the video because it chops and changes loads. but its got some seriously tight helixs and a very batman esque trench corkscrew trench part near the end.

Edit: See the videos in the post below (without sound)

Could you possibly post the video on youtube? I just can't figure out what to do to get it to work.

EDIT: Nevermind, I think I got it to work.

EDIT 2: I'm just getting two commercials that play over and over. I did what you said, but I can't see the video.

unfortunatly the video streams, and i dont have the technical know how to download/capture it. I tried video capture but i just got a black box where the video was.

Edit: asr i had your problem for ages. which browser are you using? i got it to work using the IE Tab plugin in Firefox... i just got the adverts in firefox itself

Posted

I managed to get to the adverts in Firefox too, but now I'm trying in IE and can't get anything but the website's main page.

No I don't. I guess I'll try that next.

Also, is the username case-sensitive?

EDIT: I think I finally got it. Thanks for the help.

EDIT; I did finally see it. There isn't much footage of the coaster, but it looks great. Very fast and forcefull looking, it just flys through the loop, and the low to the ground helices later in the ride look absolutly insane. Robb, please try and get a POV of it on the Korea trip, I'd love to see the entire ride.

Sorry for all that everyone

Finally managed to capture them for you. unfortunatly no sound.

i split it into 2 as well

Edit: i finally realise why some of the video looks like batman.... IT IS... the POV footage is not from Phaethon.... but the Offride and in face footage IS

Now that looks like B&M - old skool style.

You can just tell by watching it that that's one intense ride. If you compare it to footage of Silver Bullet and Patriot, it's running much faster through the inversions and the final helixes. Could it be that B&M have started making forceful coasters again?

The fact that the riders in the video came off staggering is very promising. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is one of B&M's best inverts to date but as always, the proof is in the riding

I read an article recently where someone from B&M said that their coasters becoming less forcefull was because of stricter US regulations. Has anyone here ridden alot of recent outside of th US B&Ms, and if so, are they more forcefull then recent B&Ms built in the US?

If that is true, it could just be US B&Ms that have been being built more and more forceless, and ones in Europe and Asia are still very forcefull rides like older B&Ms.

No, I can confirm that Air and Dæmonen are both very forceless and reports say that other new B&Ms in Europe are too. So forceless B&Ms are deffinately not restricted to the US

Hmm. Well, it is possible that the riders where just stagering because they had never expierenced something like it before, because there is only 9 B&Ms in Asia other then it, and none of those are in Korea. Ofcourse, even if it is less intense then those riders think, it can't be denied that it will be intense.

I just watched through

video of Raptor at Cedar Point, which is pretty forcefull. Phaethon looks like it goes through the loop slightly faster, and the Cobra Roll alot faster. Raptor's Cobra Roll was the most intense part of the ride, so Phaethon's must be insane. I really hope they don't decide to put trims on it, it looks like a monster, and it would suck to have be toned down. Too bad I'm probably never gonna ride it
