JimmyBo Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Alright, so after a couple years off from school (after being kicked out) and the non stop harassing from family that my job as a bartender wasn't going to lead me anywhere in life, I decided to move back to Arizona and finish up school. Where you ask? The same school that kicked me out two years earlier, University of Arizona. The main reason I'm doing this update is because I got a new camera so I'm testing it out. Plus, I'm also testing out my new high speed internet! Here's the outside with me and one of my roommates. This house is kick @$$!!! All moved in And here it is after... Here's my room before... Oh My God! Just like back at home! Iceplant!!!! This is the first iceplant I've ever seen in AZ and of course it was in the front of our house...so cool And here's our wonderful "bum safe" pool that is ice cold right now Here's the living/dining room...HUGE!!!! Here's the kitchen of my new house...sweet 6 hours, 10 Dr Peppers, and 1 pee break later I arrive at my exit in Arizona...but which school do I go to? Feed, Pet, Play, Ride, Eat the Ostrich! Anything you want to do with an ostrich for any price! No Joke! And now my favorite thing in Arizona...the Ostrich Farm! At least I had the Dr to keep me awake ...and this is my view 4 hours later! The same damn thing! Here's the best part about this drive...keep in mind the view of this photo... Hello Mr. Sun, I'll be seeing a lot of you today...mainly cuz you're blinding me the entire drive So I wake up at the buttcrack of dawn cuz I wanted to beat the lovely San Diego traffic Alright...ready to go to AZ So here was the plan...put everything under the mattress and just strap the mattress down as tight as possible. It worked! Almost done...looks like Grapes of Wrath I had so much crap I had to have my dad bring his car too My lonely little truck waiting for his bed to be violated The staging area before it all goes in the cars And now here it is after I pack my crap Here we go...here's my room in So Cal before I pack my crap
SharkTums Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I see you already have all the important things unpacked in the Kitchen! Good luck, we'll miss you! Eh, whatever, see you in 8 weeks!
Louise Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 ...but which school do I go to? For some reason, that caption struck me as VERY funny. I laughed. Moving sucks, glad yours went smoothly. That house is pretty sweet compared to a lot of student ones I've seen... How many of you living there? Good luck back at school!
JimmyBo Posted January 4, 2007 Author Posted January 4, 2007 ^ There's 3 of us living in it. It's a 4 bedroom house so since it has an extra room so that will be our "party" room. And I seriously got confused at that sign on the exit...but leave it up to Arizona State to have a school for the special people and not UofA oh by the way...ASU Sucks!
arrowfanman Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 ...great photo trip report Jimmy! As Elissa said, we'll miss you here in SoCal, but at least you're coming crawling back for Solace-time! See you then! -Jahan
Sir Clinksalot Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 UofA ... you'll get plenty of bartender practice there. From the looks of the kitchen you already have a good start.
SharkTums Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 ^^No no Jahan...we'll see him for UN-Solace!!!! (That's when the cool kids will hang out!)
Wes Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 For some reason, I thought you were older. Weird. But good luck in school, don't party too hard.
Ryan King Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I knew I felt a Disturbance in the Force.... haha Jim, looking forward to meeting up with you again sometime this year! Youre a cool dude, keep safe, party hard, and stay out of those savage Arizonian Gangs! -Ryan
ParkTrips Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Good luck Jimmy. At least I know I'm not the only one to take a longterm break from school!
Carnage Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Never too late to go back to school. My brother got kicked out of high school, became a bum working in a factory for a few years, went back, finished, graduated university from a great school, and now has a kick ass job. Best of luck.
DerekRx Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Sad to hear I lost my connection at Pizza Port, but glad to see you made it to AZ safely. Best of luck there, and when you're on break, let me know and we'll drink! (like you don't do that anyway)
Rugged One Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Alright, so after a couple years off from school (after being kicked out) and the non stop harassing from family that my job as a bartender wasn't going to lead me anywhere in life, I decided to move back to Arizona and finish up school. But dude, you were a bartender at one of the most kick ass breweries in the world! Seriously man, good luck and most of all, have fun!
Slacking Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 As a former UofA student, I just have to comment on a couple things. 1- The Ostrich Farm is THE highlight of the drive between Tucson and Phoenix. 2- Bum-proof pool? (or whatever your exact words were.) LMAO! One thing I do not miss about Tucson is walking down the streets and being harassed for change what seemed like every 5 feet or so. 3- ASU does indeed suck.
JimmyBo Posted January 4, 2007 Author Posted January 4, 2007 ^Glad to see someone knows about the Ostrich Farm. And I can't wait for all the wonderful bums to ask me for change again...I miss the bums. Thanks for all the kind words guys...hopefully this time around will go a lot better
ebl Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 There's an ostrich farm just out of Solvang (a Danish town about 40 miles north of Santa Barbara). I wonder how many of them know that today they're birds, tomorrow they're burgers? Despite your hatred of ASU, good luck there anyway. Eric
QuakerOaties Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Nice house! I'm pretty jealous of your college accomodations. Good luck this time around!
