I actually really liked the trailer and will probably see the movie. I didn't have the toys, I didn't watch the show, it just looks like an entertaining movie to me. It didn't scream ID4 to me the instant I saw it, I don't think I'm as critical as others when it comes to movies or much else.

Nope!

you could always be lying

I could be...but nope.

Then what do you think it is. Also if it was wouldnt you not be aloud to confirm it?

I actually don't know what it is other than it's NOT from the game!

I never said it was from. It could be about (like a ad) although whatever it is its confusing

But I do know a lot of people that are like "OMFGWTFBBQ! Transformers! Must see!"... but that's not me.

But most definetly me!! I cant wait to see it! I grew up with it. I had their toys and everything. Definetly a must see!! I am definetly not picky about who directed it or whatnot. From the trailer it looks like it will be action packed and fun to watch!!

But I probably wont go see it on opening night and just wait till the crowd dies down because I am not sheep like the rest of the crazy fans who will go and spend the night or wait all day just to be the first ones. Also I will go an watch it as a matinee in the morning instead! Cuz why pay more when you can pay less. (Jewish logic always helps the budget)!!

From IMDB...

Transformers (2007) (post-production)

The Island (2005) - blech.

The Lionel Richie Collection (2003) (V) (video "Do It to Me")

Bad Boys II (2003) - okay action film.

Pearl Harbor (2001) - Longish, but okay.

Armageddon (1998) - I liked it...

The Rock (1996) - Good action!

Bad Boys (1995) - enjoyable.

So as for Transformers, it looks okay. You can't tell by trailers any more.

I only made it through 15 seconds of the trailer, but that was enough for me.

Cartoon conversions to movies with live actors nearly always suck. They should have done this as a 100% CG movie. I had nearly all the Transformers toys back in the 80s, and would love to see a movie that held true to the original conception. This just looks like bad sci-fi that happens to have the name Transformers on it.

Frank Miller's 300 is going to blow this POS out of the water.

I grew up with the toys and the TV show, so obviously I am going to see it. Optimus Prime looked great. My big complaint is why so few autobots? Where the hell is Soundwave? Why did they let Michael Bay direct it? Don't they know he is the same guy who took the pearl harbor story and turned it into a 3 hour soap opera with 20 mintes of actual pearl harbor stuff?

I will be there when it comes out, but with Michael Bay at the helm, I am not expecting too much.

Someone mentioned Die Hard 4, which is being released the same day. I don't think it will affect Transformers too much. The trailer does look good, but Transformers is geared to Sci-Fi geeks and people who grew up with Transformers.

Well I had a layover in Newport News today so I went and saw it and it was REALLY good. I was surprised how funny it was on top of all the action.

A couple things bothered me at first like bumblebee not being a VW bug. (seemed like something they could easily incorporate)

But it was a great movie and made me feel like a kid all over again.

Can't wait for the inevitable sequel.

Not a bad 5 day opening, estimate at over $152 mil.

Since I know you are a big fan Robb, I would like to hear your opinion on it after you see it.

I stand by my original thoughts...It's very nice of Michael Bay to attempt his own version of Independance Day! Seriously, everything from the movie posters, to the trailer just SCREAMS "Hi, I'm Michael Bay...This is my Aliens coming to Earth" movie. It just so happens that I'm totally butchering a franchise in the process!

I mean, the effects look great, I'm sure it will have the typical Michael Bay nonstop action sequences, but I don't see much more to it.

If it's true that they just moved Die Hard 4 to the same release date I worry about how well this movie will do since it seems like very similar demographics to DH4.

It's funny looking back at predictions. I'm happy to say that Transformers does not dissappoint unless you are seriously going into it hoping that it will in fact be everything that you don't want it to be. It has it's typical Bay moments but overall it's pretty good. I enjoyed it lots. I don't know why everyone is so hard on him, possibly because he's the poster child for mainstream commercialized hollywood block busters.. possibly for other reasons. Either way it's worth a watch and it's definately the most fun I've had in the theater all year... even more fun then 300.
