pkdcoaster Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 As close to a perfect day as you can have at a park. No lines, Great friends and Great rides! I took over 300 pictures so picking the best is kinda hard, so I am gonna break it down in parts. The park was pretty dead with little to no lines and the weather was perfect all day. Alpengeist-9 rides Apollo-10 rides Wolf- 3 rides Monster- 4 rides With rides on Dark Castle, Pompei and Le Scoot. We also did the Beer School thingy (even though I hate beer!) They finally have some footers down for Griffon too! Here are some of my pics, everybody else took some good ones too. JEFF this was where Df came out of the station I finally got to pay my respects Smell my finger! Eagles that were injured and cannot fly anymore. Slide POV! I don't have this angle!!! A FOOTER!!!!!
ECZenith Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 No line for Alpengeist? Ooooo... Glad to see you had a great time, and were able to take some nice photos. I love the eagle exhibit they have there.
SharkTums Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 That Bald Eagle still looks like it could kickass even if it can't fly! I'm still totally confused as to where Griffon is going, that picture helped a bit, but it will be interesting to see how it interacts with the park.

SharkTums Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Thanks Jeff, That definitely helps...although I'm kind of bummed because it seems like they could have done so much more with the concept and terrain they have. Oh well, it will still be awesome!
pkdcoaster Posted September 16, 2006 Author Posted September 16, 2006 Part 2 Alpengeist pics Enjoy, JEFF I have always wanted this pic from the flume Check out the Wheel cover clearance on the shed!!!!

ECZenith Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Either you have a real nice camera or they've given Apollo some love since last time I saw it.
mr_teisco_delrey Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Those are great shots! Nessie might be an Arrow, but it is one heck of a ride. I hope you have some Big Bad Wolf shots.
pkdcoaster Posted September 16, 2006 Author Posted September 16, 2006 Either you have a real nice camera or they've given Apollo some love since last time I saw it. When was the last time you saw it? any pics? I do not think BGE lets their coasters go more than 2 years without a new coat. JEFF
pkdcoaster Posted September 16, 2006 Author Posted September 16, 2006 Those are great shots! Nessie might be an Arrow, but it is one heck of a ride. I hope you have some Big Bad Wolf shots. I had 1 in the original post here are the others (they didn't turn out that great) JEFF
coasterdude5 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Nice pictures, what is DF's station being used as now?
Homer Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Isn't DF's station used as a house for HOS? Anyways, great pics Jeff. Thanks for the Peter Griffon update...
pkdcoaster Posted September 17, 2006 Author Posted September 17, 2006 Isn't DF's station used as a house for HOS? Right on. Funny thing was you would never know anything was there before. There is one footer from the actual coaster that still remains. (que Chucks pic!) JEFF
mforce79 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 mo pictures... After realizing Jeff took 300+, it was hard to find some shots that haven't already been shared. Overall the best day this season, especially considering the weather was perfect. This monster was also trying to eat people in the train station. Clydesdales trying to eat the employee... also notice the unplanned train in the background. Pretty good timing... Apollo and the impaled clown Probably my favorite picture from the day my timing was off on this one, but I like the way the light comes through Some Alpengeist action Apollo's Station 5PM Alpengeist station: 3PM Why would this dork have this huge outdated camcorder wrapped in a plastic bag??? Find out soon... Griffon's surprise element... a French-themed climbing wall for the whole family
happyscrappy Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 These pictures are awesome!! It's been years since I've been to Busch Gardens Europe... the last time I went Drachen Fire was still open. I want to ride those coasters so bad!! Alpengeist looks so awesome!
DPdragon Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 More pics from the trip on Friday. What Jeff does for fun when not riding coasters : ) Jeff pays his final respects... (Drachen Fire footer)
deano Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Great pics, cant wait for the POV's. Please tell me you have a Big Bad Wolf POV?

307 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I miss BGE. We only spent three or four hours there on our trip last year due to poor weather, and having to drive for five hours after we left the park. I hope we can return in 2007, because I *really* loved the park in the short time we spent there. Maybe next time the crowds will be a little lighter! Nice pics and great POV.
ECZenith Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I am so stealing that footer next time I'm at BGE. Nice photos, BTW, I'd love to check out their Howl O Scream.
bgwfreak Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Awesome PTR!!! I can't wait until I hit me up some Griffon action next year. Haven't been back to the park since 2003.
cfc Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Yes, it was fun at Busch that night--perhaps more fun than you might realize, as shown by the first pic below. As for me and Hummel Boy, we're just "good friends." Yes, Hummel Boy was getting himself some action that night.
