ECZenith Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Hey there, Since I really don't wear theme park shirts since I've been about 15 or so, and have had to be kind of cheap when I visit most theme parks, an easy souvenier for me to start collecting was theme park pins, I'm not talking about random disney pins, I'm talking like specific pins for particular rides. I have a pretty good collection now on a huge corkboard, probably close to 100. I was wondering if anyone else did the same... and how many do you have? It looks like major six flags parks are starting to sell pins of their star attractions (El Toro, Tatsu, Kingda Ka...) but I was curious to know if certain parks sell pins, so if you know of any, please list them below. I was wondering in particular, if Sea World Orlando and BGE sell pins, I know BGA does for some of their rides. I'm having such a hard time finding an Alpengeist pin!! If anyone has any photos they would like to share, do that too! I will post some of my collection as soon as I get access to the gf's camera.
TheKlockster Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Cedar Point has a bunch of pins. I am going to buy more next time I go up. This time I just bought 1 - a Raptor Pin. I would have bought more - but I was saving the rest of my souvenir money for a shirt - which I then ended up running out of time and forgetting to buy. I wanted to put the pin on my bag I take to parks - NOT A FANNY PACK - but its got a little Cedar Point thing that dangles below the pin, and I am afraid it will break off. Ironically - I can only find one pin at all the stores at my home park - PKI - and it says Top Gun: The Jet Coaster - which isn't even a ride at PKI!
Carnage Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I've got a TTD media day pin somwhere. PRobably one of the only one's I have. I've just started collecting magnets. Pretty small collection so far.
niiicolaaah Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I started collecting pins on the UK trip. I have Thunder Coaster, Apocalypse, Velocity, and Valhalla (the last one thanks to Derek!) What a pathetic collection! I also have Drayton Manor and Flamingoland erasers... what a random thing to sell at an amusement park!
DarkStitch626 Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I am mainly a disney park pin collector. I do have a few ride pins though such as El Toro I purchased before I moved.
obeygiant Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 ^Disney is really the only place you can go crazy on buying pins... I only have a few Universal and Disney pins I got a long time ago. I also have a Hard Rock Hotel pin I bought my first time there.
ECZenith Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 Yeah, I definately spent a little too much on my trip to Cali getting the "mountain" pins and some other ride pins. I have all of the major rides from Disney Sea except Storm Rider and the ToT pin is already on the way thanks to ebay. I figure by the time I get there, I won't be able to fidn them...
dandaman Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 I know someone who's never bought a pin in their life (all gifts from someone/results of trading). http://www.pinpics.com/mypins.htm Type in "mommytomjm" in the username view box.
live2tell75 Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 I started collecting Disney attraction pins almost 10 years ago. I now try to collect pins from every park I go to. I don't wear my pins to the parks or trade them. I just keep them in a pin collection book. Here are photos from my collection. DerekRx Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I've been collecting since around 1999, and its pretty much the only real souvenir I try to pick up, as its both cheap and small. Of course, neither of that is true about Disney, but I guess we have them to thank for the renewed spark of interest in them. Too bad I don't think I make enough money to be able to buy every new pin Disney makes, and they make a new pin on pretty much every visit I take! SFMM collection Cedar Point premier collection Disneyland Resort Disneyland Resort Paris Other WDW stuff WDW Season Pass pins/resorts I've stayed at WDW Etickets The new page International parks More small parks Dollywood and SDC The other CF parks Cedar Point Various smaller parks Dorney Park and Knotts Six Flags The Busch page The Universal page The Paramount page

gildedguardian Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Hello everyone! I know I'm late to the party but I have recently gotten into pin collecting. I was curious if anyone was done collecting or are willing to part with their pins. We could set up a deal of some sort. My interests are Cedar Point and Ride Manufacturers. PM me if interested! Thanks!
cfc Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I'm not as into the "pin thing" as some people, but I do have a few (usually from park events or as gifts from friends). I do rather like the Hollywood Tower Hotel "Do Not Disturb" sign. The little on on the lower right is for the Italian Job Stunt Coaster at Kings Dominion (they were handing them out on opening day when the ride made its debut); what's rather amusing is that the pin reads "Italian Job Turbo Coaster."
