I'm thinking about hitting The Great Escape. Is it really that good of a park since its best coaster is a Boomerang?

Uhh... Boomerang? More like the Comet!

Comet is such a good ride. And most nights it has little to no line.. And they let you reride.. So you can sit in a seat from around 7pm till 10 and just lap it.

Seeing their coaster collection:

Mine train

64 feet Bobsled

Boomerang

Dark Ride

Arrow Corskcrew

Comet

How good are each of those coasters?

Seeing their coaster collection:

Mine train - It use to have slow loads but the trains were updated this year so its a bit better.

64 feet Bobsled - Bobsled is NEVER open. It cant run wet.. And it rains almost everyday in the Lake George area In my last 9 vists over the last 3 years... It opened once.. And tested one other day.. But then it rained so it never opened.

Boomerang - The boomerang is very smooth. Last time I rode it was in the snow

Dark Ride - I hate N@CC as the line is always VERY long. But this year the park added fastlane to it and you no longer wait inline for it.

Arrow Corskcrew - Never really has a wait.. Sometimes they give you 2 laps back to back.

Comet - Only real reason to come to the park

I know it is all just opinion, but I found nothing great about Comet at all. I rode it last summer and thought it was terrible. I went back this year to give it another chance, and it was worse than what I remembered. I enjoy Georgia Cyclone @ SFOG more than that...at least it has airtime. What makes a wooden coaster fun if you don't have airtime or insane speeds? Thunderhead doesn't have any airtime really, but it has a lot of speed. Georgia Cyclone is rough, but you got airtime. Comet has nothing...

1. SFGAdv

2. SFOG

3. SFNE

I've been to SFA, SFOG, SFGAdv, and SFStl

My list probably goes SFStl, SFOG, then SFGAdv.

St Louis was a great park. The staff were good, the coaster collection was really good, and the atmosphere was really nice.

SFGAdv normally pisses me off with the crowds and lousy staff (way worse then SFA in my experiences) but their coaster collection beats out SFA.

I must say I'm a little surprised with what parks are being picked in everyone's top 3. SFMM is getting very little love.

I find that odd given the thread with the poll on which SF park is the best and Magic Mountain is in the lead.

I wonder if this seasons impression of Magic Mountain is to do with this as that thread with the poll was started in January 2006. I figured MM would have been in a lot or most of the top three's here but it looks like it's not. Or maybe that Magic Mountain lovers haven't posted yet?

easy - a poll doesn't require a post therefore is simple enough for all the SoCal kids to add their opinions without much effort!

I have been to...

SFA, SFDL, SFMM, SFGADV, SFNE

I prefer...

1) Six Flags Great Adventure

-Ka, El Toro, Nitro... Just so much stuff.

2) Six Flags New England

-Clean, themed well, home to my favorite ride.

3) Six Flags Magic Mountain

-Not so great service but the coaster lineup is sinister.
