kingdanny Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I went to SFOG with my friend and his parents for his birthday. We got to the park at 10:00 A.M. The weather forcasters said it would rain from 11:00-7:00 and it didn't rain until 9:00. When we entered the park, there was barely any people which was great. After we got a Q-Bot, we headed to the Mine Train. I wanted to do Cyclone but there no one wanted to ride it with me so we skipped it. My friend and his parents aren't coaster people so we skipped alot. We got to Mine Train and saw there wasen't a line. We rode in the front row. Mine Train was fun as usual. After we got off, no one was waiting for the front row so we rode again. After Mine Train, we skipped Acrophobia and went to Canyon Blaster. We used Q-Bot so we got to ride instantly. I sat in the middle. Canyon Blaster is fun but too short. They should let you go around twice or extended the ride. After Canyon Blaster, we rode Monster Plantation. Me, my friend, and his parents all had a boat to ourselves so we yelled out random noises. When the ride ended, we went towards Deja Vu only to find it closed. We headed to Cotten States Exposition. No one wanted to ride Wheelie so we skipped it. Ninja was open. It looks great in its new paint. I like the sound the lift makes when the train goes down the first drop. I wanted to do Ninja but my friend insisted that I skip it so I don't get a concussion. When we got to GASM, I convinced my friends mom to ride with me. She hasen't riden it since 1980. We sat in the second row of the whole train. GASM was fun as always. There was alot of airtime on every hill. After GASM, we all had Dippin Dots. I had no clue Dippin Dots was made out of chemicals only. When we finished, we rode the Bumper Cars 3 times in a row. When we finished, we rode Rockin' Tug. We dicided to go to the Sky Buckets next to Deja Vu. The other Sky Bucket station is hidden well. We rode Mine Train again and headed towards the log ride. I tried out the test seat for Scorcher but it was uncomfertable in a certain spot. We rode Log Jamboree twice in a row. The last drop is scary. It may be 15 feet but it's pretty steep. Afterwards, we headed towards the U.S.A section. My friend and I rode Shake,Rattle,'N',Roll once. While in line, I saw one of my good friends from school. Free Fall was stuck at the top so no one rode it. We headed back towards Thunder River. We rode SplashWater Falls in the third row. I got soaked. The splash reached the bridge today. Then, we rode Thunder River once. I only got my legs wet on the ride. Afterwards, my friend and his parents used Q-Bot for Superman. We had 75 minutes to burn. I re-rode GASM by myself in the back. It had EJECTOR airtime. Then, we rode Bumper Cars twice and SplashWater Falls again. We rode Sky Buckets around the park then it was time for Superman. I didn't ride because I think i'm too big. Everyone is saying I will fit perfectly. I'm 264 pounds so I don't think I will fit. When it was my friends time to ride, the ride broke down. We walked towards the U.S.A and re-rode Monster Plantation and Canyon Blaster. We ate at D.J's diner for dinner. The food was good. Afterwards, we rode Log Jamboree 5 times in a row. By now, the sun was down so we headed towards Gotham City. My friend wanted to do Crime Wave so we waited for him. After that, I went to wait for MindBender. Right when I got in, they shut down the ride because it started drizziling alittle bit. They could've let us go. It didn't start pouring until 10 minutes after that. We noticed that Batman was still running so me and my friends dad went in line. While walking through the line, they shut down the ride. We saw Batman and Robin sit on top of Batman's sigh waiting for the rain to leave. They waited while my friends dad went towards the front of the park to buy a camera to take a picture. They were nice waiting 20 minutes in the rain for my friends dad. Overall, I had a great day. Everyone was right, Wonder Woman is hot!!
kingdanny Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 Since I had to follow the birthday boy, we had to skip Goliath and Acrophobia and other rides. I was lucky to even do Scream Machine and attempt to do Mind Bender and Batman.
easytoremember Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 man, I couldn't stand skipping all of those rides. That would be just to hard.
kennywood!007 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Wow, "Note to self": Don't go to themeparks with friends that don't ride. Sounds like you had a fairly bad time.
map2 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 If they don't really like riding rides, then why did they choose to have a party at Six Flgas??
goleafsgo Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 why would a person who doesn tlike roller coasters go to a theme park for their birthday?
kingdanny Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 If they don't really like riding rides, then why did they choose to have a party at Six Flgas?? I don't know.
easytoremember Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 yeah, a family ride. I know. I was being sarcastic. Note the eyeroll
kingdanny Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 I got my friend on GASM last year. He said he will only do it once a visit. When it was time, he said no because he thought that he would get thrown out of the ride.
GeorgiaDawg278 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Bummer on having to hold out on a lot of rides when there were hardly any lines (or so I interpretted)
kingdanny Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 You interrpreted correctly. My friend challenged me to Ninja but changed his mind because he wanted Dippin Dots.
tinflowers Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 why would a person who doesn tlike roller coasters go to a theme park for their birthday? lol...very odd. I would have made up an excuse of flamboyant diarrhea and headed towards the toilets across from Goliath, secretly planning all along to ride Goliath. I figure you could at least get 3-6 rides out of a diarrhea that severe with moderate lines. They would have had to believe you.
SpartanTS Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 No trip to SFOG is complete without a ride on Goliath. It's such a great ride. The smoothest and most quiet B&M i've ever ridden. I went a few weeks back and it was great. I wanted to ride Deja Vu, but it was closed, as usual. BTW my ride on GASM sucked. I got beat up pretty bad and had to take a break for a while.
kingdanny Posted July 13, 2006 Author Posted July 13, 2006 GASM hurts when you sit in the last row of any of the cars. My friend likes riding the Mine Train, Canyon Blaster, and all the water rides all day. Once, we rode Log Jamboree 45 minutes straight. Goliath looks scary. You go really high and you only have a small bar holding you in. I don't know if I will fit. I'm 264 so I don't think I will fit on Goliath or Superman. Because of my weight, I'm scared of MindBender. I think that I might black-out on the loops sence I weigh alot.
easytoremember Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Seriously, how can you think Goliath is scary and be a coaster enthusiast. Also, the lap restraints are not small at all. Actually they cover your entire lap. They are very comfertable, and they let you experience tons of airtime.

apollo210 Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 When I rode Apollo's Chariot for the first time, I had to close my eyes (but opened them for a little when I was at the top of the lift) After the first drop, I was satisfied and loved it!!!!! Second time, I could go up it with my eyes wide open! When I rode BBW and LNM, it was too easy. Just know that you'll survive and you'll be fine .
kingdanny Posted July 13, 2006 Author Posted July 13, 2006 I don't know if i'm too big. That's why I don't ride Goliath.
