DelGrosso's to add "new" coaster in '07

According to this entry in RCDB, DelGrosso's park will be the new home of Libertyland's old loopscrew, Revolution.

 

While this isn't a major coaster by most enthusiasts' standards, I can't say I blame the park at THAT price. For less than the cost of most flatrides, they're getting a ride that they should be able to market like crazy to the locals.

 

I just hope they leave enough room for the woodie they've been talking about...

Woohoo, Credit! Glad to see the park gets another coaster, and is well on its way to seeming like a more "complete" park. All it needs is the woodie and we're good to go. Now I have another reason to go back to the park next year besides the pizza and potato salad.

YES! I might visit this park in '07 and I'll have something to look forward to! But hope its not like Canobie Corkscrew .

That's freakin' awesome. I was hoping a PA park would pick that hunk of crap up just so I could see what it is like.

They've run into a bit of a problem. When the coaster was built, they didn't bolt the track together, they welded it. They're going to have to cut it into pieces and then reassemble it. And they've only got until July 21st.

Just wait until the end of the season and go to the Italian Festival. Then you can get the mucho huge Italian Sampler for $6 and ride the corkscrew!

^^^Unless the sale was "as-is" the park can actually have S&S or a metal/track fabricator shop convert the track to a bolt-on package.

 

Case in point: Big Bad Wolf modifications in 89 and 91. Sections after 1st lift and the last drop (s-curve) sections were re-profiled and now use a bolt-on pattern.

We're planning a PA coaster trip for next summer and this will add to it nicely.

We're shooting for Idlewild, CLP, Kennywood, Waldameer, Lakemont, Delgrosso, Hershey and Dutch Wonderland.

^Hey! We are also going to Pennysvannia maybe as well and we might hit parks such as Lakemont and Delgrosso's! We might also hit Hershey, but I'm looking forward to this coaster now that I know how to ride CC.

I know this is an old thread, but I was just playing @ and checked out rcdb and now it says 2008 for the "new" coaster??

Apollo, it's the better version of the corkscrew that includes the vertical loop, which Canobie does not have.

Since summer is approaching and nothing has been posted on RCDB or their website, I thought out of curiosity I would drop them a line. Here is their reply..

 

Hello and thank you for your interest in DelGrosso’s Amusement Park.

 

 

 

To be honest we have been doing a lot of homework on the Corkscrew coaster. There still is no concrete time when the coaster is going up though. It will be a great addition to the Park someday. Sorry!
