Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
BeemerBoy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Themed to a flashlight....or lantern for Paul Revere's ride...you know, since you guys like to theme your areas. -
I have a new personal rule. Every time someone starts comparing WDW's spending to that of any other park and/or resort area, I'm going to pass right by it. When are people gonna realize that WDW's budget is unlike every other amusement entity on the planet? I guess the fact that they have 40-something square miles of entertainment to maintain (including 6 parks, countless hotels, shopping "districts," transportation, electric, payroll, garbage disposal, etc. etc. etc. etc.) kind of dictates how often they can drop $100-200 million on a new attraction, no? And of course, this seems lost on the blogosphere-type crowd who spend way too much time worrying about how far their entertainment dollar is stretching than actually having a good time once inside the gates. Orlando is full of value in my book. Now back to actual Sea World discussion, which come to think of it, includes the absolute best value in all of Orlando....Discovery Cove.

I'll settle for simply smoothing the ride out so that my internal organs don't hate me afterward. -
Welcome to my world.

Timberliners vs. Flying Turns. It's like a Mexican standoff. -
^ I'll drop another 100 off to you later. And thanks to those who dropped some off in my town over the weekend.

That might be the one thing I miss most about Florida....great, fresh seafood. There's nothing like Mahi straight off the boat! If you'd consistently grill it up like that, I'd move in next door!

That swordfish and Mahi look delicious!!

Alton Towers Discussion Thread

^ It was a typo. It meant to read "Greatest number of visits before actually getting the credit." -
EDIT: ^ He beat me to it. Negative, Ghostrider. While they do tense their arms, legs, and abdomen to restrict the blood flow to their lower extremities, they certainly DO NOT hold their breath. In fact, it's more of the opposite. They take quick, short, breaths that sound like "grunts." This helps keep the blood from running from their head. Here's a decent example (listen to his breathing).... [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]

Even the map keys don't make sense with this thing. By looking at it, they either have 90% of it uninstalled, or 99% of it installed, with one piece left.....or something. Hell, I give up. -
MTV Developing Theme Park Drama

You lost me at MTV. -
When are you visiting? I'll be seeing a game in Washington at the end of May, so if that's before your visit, I'd be glad to report back to you a little more about the stadium. As for the Mets, they're my favorite team....and they're worthless.

Hang on. So RCCL is forced to limit the tricks you're allowed to do on the Flowrider, but they're gonna have an indoor skydiving thing??? I've done both, and I can definitely say the risk for injury seems much greater with the indoor skydiving. As for everything else so far....I like it. Well, except for the bumper cars. Those seem a bit stupid.

Thanks, Elissa. Dropped mine off to ya earlier this afternoon. "Egg buddies" are a great idea.
