This is dead-on.....and somewhat depressing to see what Ober could (should?) be like. -

^ Yep, it is. Heck, people have been teased, and are slightly pissed about the Schlitterbahn Fort Lauderdale project being held up by mostly government BS and red tape for the last two years. That region would easily support a water park. There's no reason it should've been dry since Six Flags Atlantis left. All it would've taken was good management and planning by Boomers.....oh, and we'd still have a top 25 woodie as well. Morons. -

^ The key is the water park expansion. If Boomers had taken that approach, it would have succeeded without question. -

This place is looking like what Boomers could have been with the right business plan and management. -
This place needs rides with Memphis related themes and ran like Kemah and Galveston and other pier parks to draw more people to the under appreciated parts like the River Museum and River Walk, the Amphitheater is gravy though currently underused. I looked in the TPR store for the secret decoder ring for this, but I'm unfortunately out of luck. Babelfish was of no help either.

You could, umm, not ride it. Like the Orioles being completely out of contention each year? I guess it's also bad that Camden Yards "changed the game" on modern baseball stadium design, right? Yeah, things are definitely getting worse with time. If this thing gives a great ride, I don't care what it's made of. -
They do. But they're being ignorant if they choose to. You know what else is not good business? Potentially allowing accidents to happen on rides that were not cleared to open. The opening got delayed. Get over it, folks. The moose out front should kick every complainer in the nuts. Seriously, whenever a friend asks why I keep so quiet about being an "enthusiast," I direct 'em to this thread.

Rat shows (yes rat shows)

Well, I certainly have to give you credit for putting together a whole report as an explanation of your hobby...odd as it may be. It was definitely enlightening. -

HRRRRRR, because it's a portal to heaven, and a true religious experience. -
With the exception coming on 9/22, of course.

^^ Haha, yeah...I'm just not quite sure what to think about some of it. People seriously judge rats. Wow, at least that's better than the whole Toddlers and Tiaras thing, I guess.

Wait, there are actually rat shows? ^^ Ross, Lexi is awesome.

These don't exist. I'm pretty sure Notre Dame's had a "Top 10" recruiting class for the last 25 years....or so I've been led to believe. More proof? Kyle Wright and Jacory Harris at the U. Sigh.

Favorite Dark Ride
BeemerBoy replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To me, one of the defining elements of a "dark ride" is the "controlled environment" aspect of them. For that reason, I couldn't consider Jungle Cruise a dark ride. I think of it as a boat ride with "dark ride" portions, whereas Living with the Land - even though a large portion of the ride utilizes natural light - is still in an indoor "controlled environment," thus falling into the dark ride category....at least by my mind's definition. With that said, I suppose some would argue that something like 20K (was) or Nemo at DL is partially exposed to the natural elements like Jungle Cruise, but I've got it as a dark ride due to the controlled environment of the self-contained ride vehicles. Journey to Atlantis comes to mind as well. I've heard it argued as more of a dark ride than flume or water coaster, although I've got it scored clearly as a water coaster with dark ride elements.
