  1. I dig the orange more, but you're right, the clarity is ridiculously good. You nailed this one.
  2. This is definitely the truth behind it all. For the most part, meat is meat no matter where you go, but it's the BBQ sauce and the bread that make it stand out. For me though, it's also the selection and "uniqueness" of the side dishes as well - that can really help distinguish one joint from another. The smoked potato salad I had at the last place we ate at was easily some of the best ever. Nice work, Larry.
  3. ^ Beer helps....a little.
  4. ^ Okay, yeah, that does change things a bit for the better then.
  5. ^ I don't know, out on a track is okay by me. The jacka$$es who think they can simulate this stuff in everyday traffic....that's another story. Heck of a shot though! What were your settings?
  6. ^ Maybe I'm wrong, but that's quite possibly the most boring looking layout ever. It might as well be a monorail instead.
  7. ^ Yeah, that's pretty much it. It's not a go go go kinda place. With such a small crowd each day, you're never rushed to do anything. Even with breakfast, lunch, and the dolphin swim, there's plenty of time to see everything AND relax on the beach for quite a while. The thing about DC is that if you're a beach person, you really won't wanna leave once you're there.
  8. Nice work, guys. I LOVE the new additions, and those loungers are pure awesome! After Epcot, this is the second best park in Orlando, and easily the best value around.
  9. Huge win here, Larry. I have to ask though, was there a wiffle bat involved? LOVED this report. I'm not a fan of spicy stuff, but the pulled pork was definitely a great choice. I'm anxious to see if my international rule of thumb for great BBQ holds true - the crappier the place looks, the better the food is. Priceless.
  10. ^ You mean this point? If so, then Wes' idea is legit. There seems to be plenty of space for more track, and it does look quite easy to do. I say bring on the elf!
  11. Are the yellow dots in that diagram Pixie Dust, or the stuff you're smoking....or both? Why would Disney even bother altering one of their mountains to simulate or replicate a brand new one they built in Hong Kong- a ride which 99% of the population will never step foot on...or even know exists? "Re-engineering" an E-ticket isn't usually their style. Building brand new experiences is.
  12. ^ Wait, so that Fast Pass "boycott" hasn't effected their bottom line?
  13. ^ I think it'll all depend on the rate at which the train enters it. I agree with you though, it does *seem* a little questionable at this point; almost as if a complete roll would be much better off. I'll take my imaginary engineering degree and wait on the sidelines though.
  14. What took you so long to post? I'm sure the board of directors has been waiting for this advice for ages! At least they can finally eliminate the sky screamer and move on to more pressing matters now. Whew.
  15. ^ Seems like you're doing fairly well for yourself at 14. Anyway, I'm guessing they'll be using the smaller of the two remaining lots for this? I guess that somewhat dashes the hopes of Universal creating their own amazing waterpark on that acreage? The hotel choices are nice, much needed additions, but eh, oh well.
  16. I'd consider completely re-profiling a huge traditional woodie fairly similar to building from scratch. Maybe that's just me though.
  17. What does this even mean? That's not surprising at all, really. Summer in Alabama + waterpark > an entire unshaded park with one decent roller coaster. Plus, it's in Buttcrack, Alabama. You don't really need much to impress folks there. An open fire hydrant would probably suffice.
  18. Larry, any chance you got some pics of how the supports were connected to the pier? I think I read somewhere that it's actually sitting on blocks (?), much the same as a traveling coaster, yet I haven't seen any pics of it anywhere.
  19. Attract people to Detroit? Uh huh. Sure. I'll give 'em credit for at least being inventive and writing out a fairly intelligent initial "proposal," even if they are a bit delusional about it ever becoming a successful reality. That's more than the HRP nutjobs could claim.
  20. Fact: Adding awesome food, drink, and music options in a "festival-type" manner will immediately improve any park. With that said, I'm really digging what they did there! Thanks for the report, Adam.
