  1. Ah yes, that does clear things up a bit. Thanks for the illustration, Ted. I guess it's time to stop procrastinating, call up my friend in Pittsburgh, tell him to clean up the guest room, and finally make my way to Kennywood.
  2. Wow, somehow your latest update eluded me until now. Nice pics of Kennywood. I swear that Phantom's has always been somewhat of an enigma for me. I keep hearing good things about it, but yet any pictures I ever see of it make me wonder what could be so great? Maybe it's those funky looking trains? Heck, who knows.....maybe I should just shut up and ride it (insert ParkTrips insult here;)) Anyway, good job as always, guys. The photo: TR is truly an art form, and you two are definitely on the short list of all-stars out there, IMHO.
  3. I'll give 'em half credit on that one, but no credit for you Wes. Didn't you know I was only trying extra hard to become your new sig?
  4. Well, like I said, I could be wrong. Either way, this has got me curious about yearly ride numbers. I'm certainly no expert on the topic, but I'd say that comparing Raptor to Volcano may be a bit unfair and disproportionate. Raptor, being a people-eating B&M at Cedar Point doesn't quite match up right with Volcano, you know? Then again, is there really anything we can compare Volcano too? It's fairly unique in it's class. Anyway, back on topic. I suppose it'll be tough for anyone other than maintenance to have a good view of what's happening, huh? I can't recall there being any good views, as the place in question is fairly well hidden from GP view, right?
  5. I think this has been around awhile now. Amazing it hasn't been built yet, huh? EDIT: Although I'm sure Cedar Point's got their number on speed dial anyway.
  6. Thanks for the update, Kumba. If this is all true about the extent of the injuries, then some of us can take our feet out of our mouths now. ^ And I'd say 2 million is a pretty large amount for only 8 years of seasonal operation. But of course, I could be wrong on that too.
  7. As long as there's no physical abuse, then what's the difference between these and "fat camps," as was suggested earlier? I still say that if you feel so strongly about what you believe in, then grow thicker skin, and endure whatever words are spoken to you. Abuse? That's obviously a different story, and the point where authorities should intervene. "I don't like this, it deserves to be burned down." If everyone who was oppressed in this country thought this way and acted out their thoughts, we'd have nothing left. Hmmm, I sense this thread will be closed in 3....2....
  8. A bit hypocritcal don't you think? If you feel so strongly about your homosexuality and the right to practice it, then obviously the best way to express your desire to have freedom in your lifestyle choice is to return the hatred, right? Great way to lead by example.
  9. I'm speechless.
  10. Mmmmm, surfing in Jaco. I'm jealous now. My wife and I honeymooned in Quepos, which is a small fishing town/village on the pacific side near Manuel Antonio National Park. Absolutely gorgeous country. I wish I had known about the park before we went. It would've been worth hitting while we were there. Oh well. Anyway, great report.
  11. Nice pics, Erik. I've got a couple questions for you. What time did the park actually close off the queue lines? And secondly, although this is a bit picky, is there not a spelling error somewhere in the DD "treasures" queue sign? Would it not be "adventurers" rather than "adventures"? Anywho, still a nice touch for the greatest queue line in the world.
  12. Yep. The skull and cross bones still say it as you go down the first drop but in the dark tunnel it has been removed. Why they would remove one of the ride's iconic props is beyond me... Because they have a bunch of morons working in Imagineering these days. Sense of history? What's that? Next thing you know, they'll suggest the Statue of Liberty start wearing a lady's business suit with heels.
  13. ^ It's posts like this that keep cluttering up what is a VERY useful and meaningful thread. If this is to continue, would you be kind enough to provide us a link to this supposed "movie" you speak of? Otherwise, I have no other option than to believe your subject matter is unfounded and therefore completely irrelevant. Thank you for your support in this matter. Scott " " B.
  14. Maybe they could make "hip" movie versions too....
  15. Oh wait, how could I forget "Big Shot" @ Stratosphere!? That edges out Dr. Doom by a nose.
  16. Be a good American, and help out today. Don't let a teenager's dream die.
  17. ^^^ Joe, you don't really need that new car do you? Why not chip in?
  18. The only part that would fit that description is between the two launches, correct? I'm trying to jog my memory, but I can't think of anywhere else where you'd be about 12 feet above ground.
  19. ^ We may be in the minority on this one, but I agree with you. I love this tower shot. The theming, the storyline, the closed door anticipation of the launch, the nice airtime pop......it all works very well.
  20. Think of it as what you do before you put your house on the market. Six Flags: "Look, we spruced up the front lawn, brought in the Justice League, and oh yeah, check this out.....it's called Tatsu. Your young ones will love to play on this."
  21. "Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time" - The Delfonics
  22. Can I just claim the land then? I hear it's pretty valuable.
  23. Retreats back to his corner, not quite sure what to make of this now. Scott "Save me ACE, save me!!!" B.
  24. You mean it overtook the Cedar Point '07 one? Wow, I feel honored to part of it then.
  25. Sea World Orlando, circa 1986 My first solo ride on the TomorrowLand Grand Prix @ WDW
