  1. Five Guys is an excellent substitute when In-N-Out is not available.
  2. Because it sucks? ^ Yep. "I didn't think he'd do "Moon River," but then -- bam! -- second encore!" - Nelson Muntz
  3. We were also in attendance. All in all, it was a pretty fun lineup (Garbage, Ludacris, Neon Trees, Florence and the Machine, Girl Talk, and Pearl Jam), and I was happy to finally hear Florence and the Machine live. That chick can wail!! Wow. But being the die-hard PJ fan that I am, I was anxious to see them for the fourth time, and the first in over a decade (not sure why they never seem to visit ATL?). I've now seen 'em at least once in each of the last three decades, and considering the state of today's music scene, that makes me incredibly happy to see their longevity. As you mentioned, the setlist was one of their weaker ones, but obviously geared towards the festival crowd....which I had no problem with (they could play the phone book to me, and I'd be okay with it though). Their performance Saturday night was tight as always. The thing that pleasantly surprised me was that you could honestly tell how the overwhelming crowd (52,000 strong) seemed to energize them. Eddie even made several mentions about how good it was to look out onto that sea of humanity, and it definitely put a charge in Mike McCready. Dude played with renewed vigor all night, and I'm just sad that the local noise ordinance killed the show much earlier than the band had hoped, because I was looking forward to hearing him on Ledbetter that night. Oh well. Great show, great weather, and God I still loves me some Pearl Jam. Easily my generation's Led Zeppelin. Now I just need a Ticket Oak in order to travel and follow them more often.
  4. I'm also getting really tired of the whole "player safety" argument being tossed around. What does that even mean??? How do replacement refs make it any less safe to play in that league when guys have been taking blatant and potentially career-threatening shots at each other week after week for the last two decades or more?
  5. Also, I think the Saints vs. Packers game this week will be far more interesting now, as opposed to two preseason contenders with 2-1 or 3-0 records. See, the NFL wins either way. It's time to just deal with the refs and let things play out. On a side note, I'm sick to hell of Steve Young acting like a Toddlers and Tiaras drama queen over the whole situation. Seriously dude, grab your purse and take it to the sewing circle. It's a game, not the end of civilization.
  6. Georgia in a rout. Lead pipe lock.
  7. I'm actually getting a little tired of blaming the refs for everything. If it wasn't for those guys, your teams wouldn't be playing right now at all. And there's one simple way to avoid losing the game by a blown call in the last seconds......put your opponent away before then. Just sayin'.
  8. The second to last pic of the shark is pretty impressive (well, they all are really). Considering the light source and movement involved, that couldn't have been to easy to get. Very nice work!
  9. You like that thing? Looks like a knock-off you'd find in a Stacker Game. Admittedly, the design isn't mindblowing, but it's nice to have something larger than a postage stamp again.
  10. I'm still amused that what is arguably the most child-oriented part of the park is what finally inspired alcohol sales. It actually seems about right though.
  11. I'm happier about having a decent nano back on the market.
  12. Not mentioned in the article: The park will be themed to a pack of cigarettes. And to enter, you must have one in your hand at all times. It's Cherokee law.
  13. He's dead. In my book that certainly qualifies as "post-Jobs era," no matter how you slice it. I'm happy about the 5. That just means I'll be able to buy a 4S cheaper, and do pretty much the same things with it as the 5. Now, if I could just speed up time and get out of my AT&T prison sentence.
  14. They give out these things every year. It doesn't mean the radio sounds any better.
  15. Imagine what the Morlocks were thinking when that thing hit the ground.
  16. A park could display a banner reading, "Bronze Japanese Meat Cow winner for 'Best Amusement Park Hamburgers'," and the general public would buy into that as well.
  17. I'd nominate Arizona and Dallas. Detroit and Indy's are fairly unique as well....compared to everything else, I suppose.
  18. Aside from what Adam recommended, I believe Tokyo Dining in the Japan pavilion offers a pretty good view from the tables at their front windows. Again, it's back across the walkway, but if memory serves me correctly, you can still see everything from there. Also, the food is excellent as well.
  19. I've seen filing cabinets more interesting than Metlife Stadium....and slightly cheaper too.
  20. ^ LOL. Every now and then, Shannon will sing the whole song from that episode. Good stuff.
  21. ^ So it'll be JUST like Harry Potter.....great atmosphere, bad ride. Sounds about right.
  22. There's more stretching by the marketing team here than a room full of yoga instructors.
  23. ^ Unreal. This is still my favorite of all time though.
