  1. The only thing I don't get here, is who is the girl that always smiles and is wearing the tiara? (who also throws the climbing gear off the mountain).
  2. The pictures, or rather "artists renderings" I would say are definitely from NoLimits - so, does anyone know where to download this (or even find it?)
  3. Though the theming and things were completely awesome for this ride, the actual ride itself was pretty crappy. I remember going on Star Tours a few months later, and thinking - "wow...Back To The Future really was that bad." It would be nice if they'd keep the car though - stuff like that makes Universal cool. A second thing, why would Universal have a Simpsons ride, which is a Fox show?
  4. Colossus, at the world famous Magic Mountain (about three weeks ago on the West Coast Bash day).
  5. I was watching the WB (good ol' channel five for us southern Californians) and saw just about the coolest Magic Mountain ad ever. I can't find that particular one, but this one is extremely similar http://streams.sixflags.com/Video/March1507/sixflags_fiesta-texas_300.wmv Has anyone else seen these?
  6. I haven't used these forums for almost a half year, but Guy is SO THE MAN!
  7. Only once, on GhostRider at Knott's. I know it's probably pretty tame compared to lots of other rides I like, but that thing is just NUTS! The first drop is killer. Of course, this could also be because all of the eight times I've ridden it I've been in the VERY last seat.
  8. You're joking, right? That was one of the most confused moments of my life.
  9. I sure as Hell don't want it gone...I mean sold and kept (like to Cedar Fair or somebody) would be totally alright. But, I haven't been on Tatsu or Revvy! They were both closed at the one time I've gone to Magic Mountain. That, and I have a while to go to catch up on coasterjunkie91350...I've got 3 batman rides, three on riddler, one on X, two on viper, two on Scream, one on goliath, two on Superman, and one on Ninja, so the park had better be open for a real long time.
  10. Note especially: Who in their right mind would destroy Superman the Escape 1. It's great. It's incredible. It's a work of incredible engineering that showed the world new possibilities. 2. It's a piece of history, like so many other things at Magic Mountain: first roller coaster to go 100 miles per hour 3. It is made of more metal than most people can fathom. That structure is so big that it makes it look like a bunch of thin pieces of scrap metal, when in reality those are completely normal, full-size I-Beams. 4. It changes the entire top of the mountain, as well as the skyline of the park. 5. There's this uber-cool rumbling sound, that seems just like a jet when it passes over the walkway. (If you didn't notice that, there is clearly something detrimented in your ears or your brain).
  11. Needless to say, this is like a nightmare. I looked at that link for the 'other shirts' (not savemagicmountain.com), the green ones with 'SAVE THE MOUNTAIN' on the front. Sure, the quote is rather durastic sounding, but IT'S TRUE! I just hope we don't end up with a Marineworld type of situation on our hands...
  12. I really agree with this. There are plenty of people that would love to have jobs there, and a lot of buisness is about people.
  13. There is no way they could scrap Magic Mountain, and it's hard to consider selling it: It's very profitiable, and one of the most visited. It has super valuable history: first 100mph coaster, first inversion ever, first 4-D. You'd have a heck of a lot of REALLY pissed off Californians (you don't want Arnold mad at you). Even if they sold it, there's still the massive possibility of someone buying it. If they were to tear it down, we'd have to find someone with a couple million to buy Revvy and reconstruct it in his backyard for all to ride, for eternity!
  14. Ok this is so random! What is wrong with all you people?! What's next? Sheet Metal? Raw Liver? Extension Cords? I mean seriously....
  15. Goudurix is probably the only modern coaster in the world, containing "stretched track". Vekoma manufactured a piece or two mirrored or something and they didn't bother to redo them, so they twisted & stretched them a bit. This was told by an engineer / designer at the Vekoma HQ in Vlodrop, The Netherlands ! Not a rumor, not a joke. They weren't too happy with the end result either... http://www.parkfunworld.be/coasters_reviews/pictures/Goudurix2.jpg (warning: disturbing ! ) That picture is sick and twisted! (No pun intended there). How could psyclone be so rough? I heard it's an exact replica of the New York Cyclone. I wasn't able to ride it when I was last at the Mountain, for it and [obviously] Deja Vu were closed.
  16. I have one to add to this: GhostRider at KBF. It's one of those rides that I love, but that I always feel like I'm going to fly out of the seat on, and I can never fight off that lower brain reflex to hold onto the grab bar. I have not yet ever ridden that ride hands up the entire time. Then again, I've also never ridden it in any seat other than the very last one, all 8 times I've been on it. The first time I was on it my friend Stewart, who was in front of us a car, just sorta said: "ok then that's a little steeper than I expected..." Still my favorite woodie though.
  17. ^don't get too excited! I sorta think this is funny - I've been to the corner of Lincoln and Olympic. I don't remember much, though. Besides, everyone knows there's nothing east of Lincoln Blvd.
  18. TITAN Six Flags Over Texas OMG INSANE RIDE! I get tunnel vision at the very end of the helix if I ride in back....but I went three times anyway. Probably the most tense I've felt was the first time I rode Xcelerator. I wasn't really into coasters before that, that was my 'break on through' ride. Sitting there, waiting to be launched, after watching ppl go on it all day, I could literally feel my heard beating sitting there. Wow.
  19. Ok probably the most messed up thing of coaster history is the fact that Goliath/Titan (y'know, the Giovanola rides) even exist. I've ridden Magic Moutain's Goliath once, and Titan 3 times, and even though it's fun it's still mind boggling, to say the least. Superman Ultimate Escape: 100mph! I know there's Kingda Ka etc. nowadays, but still, going 100mph on a coaster is outrageous. I don't think this is outrageous, but all my friends do: on any Batman the Ride when you exit the first loop, get thrown into the so-called 'zero-g roll' and then right into the next loop, all in about 20 seconds.
  20. seriously what do waffles or donkeys have to do with roller coasters, I've been wondering that since I joined the site. And what was the deal with the one day they changed it to lentil soup?
  21. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I really hope this isn't true, I'm going to Six Flags Over Texas in TWO DAYS!
