  1. Even though the ride doesn't go upside down, there might be that it needs OTSR anyway. It got some serious fast transitions there, and the only ride we've seen with these kind of turns is Maverick. And Maverick have OTSR. It might be that they need to keep your upper body kind of stable because of the serious roll rate in these turns. Yeah the mega lites have some fast transitions too, but they don't have this specific type of ultra fast Maverick style turns. They are more mini EGF type hills, that deliver a completely different motion. I just think there might be more behind this than what we think. After all, the engineers behind this has worked quite a lot of hours on this ride Anyway, I think the ride is gonna be insane. Just that drop is reason enough for me. I look at the rest of the ride as a bonus!
  2. A few pictures from Cosmo's World in Malaysia. Ride sign of Supersonic Odyssey and the park map.
  3. Interesting. I wonder if it will include more attractions like rollercoaster, or if it will mainly be something like the tram tours. I think the amount of rides you can get for 156 million is kind of limited. Anyways it will probably add another reason to visit Taiwan.
  4. 14/20 Some lucky guesses. Should probably have gotten the last one correct...
  5. Great update as always. Very interesting! So what was the real story with Big Bend? Why was it removed?
  6. I'm pretty certain a second hand B&M coaster is pretty easy to sell. There is loads of parks out there that want a ride of this caliber, but can't afford a new one.
  7. I completely agree! Vekoma had a great idea and B&M took it and made it even better. Props to both but it seems Vekoma had the idea 1st. The whole kneeling innovation looks pretty unique too. I doubt that. john Vardley and B&M was working on the flying concept for more than five years. They where working on Air even before Oblivion was built. So I think it was more of a case of Vekoma hearing about it, and beating them to it.
  8. hehe. We posted the same thing at exactly the same time Didn't Zierer manufacture most of the late Schwarzkopf coasters?
  9. 16/20. There is one error I think. Anton Schwarzkopf designed LiseBergbanan, but it was manufactured by Zierer since Anton's company was bankrupt at the time.
  10. With this and the other park planned it seems like Korea is really getting its share of parks. Can't wait to here more about this one.
  11. The weight restriction probably won't be a problem here in Asia, as where few people is anywhere close that weight. Maybe for some western tourists it will be a problem, but it will probably be very rare. Getting really exited for this park to open. They will probably have some sort of soft opening.
  12. It is only a small lake within a park. This seems to be located in central Tashkent, and I don't think the city is close to any major lakes?
  13. Interesting find! Seems to be part of Tashkent-Land Amusement Park, or Tashkent Disneyland as they apparently call themselves. The coaster I think is called Dizzy rollercoaster! http://www.orexca.com/tashkent_disneyland.shtml Edit: They have a water park too! Edit II: The park is on rcdb, under the name Tashkentland. http://www.rcdb.com/5377.htm According to rcdb it is called just rollercoaster.
  14. 1. What are your initial thoughts? 2. Can you think of anything else we could be offering? 3. Is this something that interests you? 4. Why would you NOT be interested in this? 5. Any additional feedback you can give us based on the information you see here. For me that hasn't had the opportunity to go on any of the trips, and probably won't for at least the next year this doesn't seem to intresting. I'm a member of ECC, and since I don't go on any tips the only reason I find it really worth the money is because of First Drop. I'm not saying you should start a magazine, but as long as you don't have a perk like that for the no trip goers it probably won't be to intresting for us. From another point, this is really smart from a site perspective, as it would probably bring in more cash to run the site. I can absolutely understand why you would do it, and it would probably be great for a lot of the die-hard Themeparkreviewers. But it probably wont do much for those outside that circle.
  15. There is a lot of possibilities. You could just have them raising towards each other and the inverted pulling up and the sit down going down. Or maybe a turn where the inverted track is on top of the sit down. I think there is almost more possibilities with one sit down and one inverted track, than with two inverted tracks. Being on a sit down train and seeing an inverted train coming towards you and pulling up in the last moment could be really cool!
  16. That's is my main concern with this one. Most of the duel moments doesn't really seem to be any good onride. I'm wondering on how many of those you're even able to see the other train? It's not like on Dueling Dragons where the other train is heading directly towards you. Of course you will see the oh I'm sure the timing problem will be solved, but the fact that they don't really duel is worse. Also the red one looks really slow, but that might also be changed. I don't like to base judgment before riding it, but it might seem like trading Hulk for this was a bad choice. Going to find out next year.
  17. Sorry, I misunderstood what you said! Yeah Singapore is a long way ahead of Dubai, but then Singapore didn't try to grasp too much. And when they say a date in Singapore, things usually open on that day We know the track for European coasters are manufactured in Europe, but apart from that we don't really know. Of course this could also be for a Chinese park or something, but I would have guessed we would have known something by now. The long time since we first saw the track tells me somethign might not have gone according to plan. Just a thought
  18. Exactly. This park was originally supposed to open 2010 or 2011, and manufacturing of the track need to happend a long time in advance in order to have enough time to ship it, built it and theme it. Nothing ever said it was gonna be themed to Hulk. I kind of doubt Universal has the rights to use the Marvel characters in that part of the world. It was just supposed to be a clone lay-out wise This track is not going to Singapore. Period. The park is way to ahead to put in another coaster, and there isn't any more room. I live in Singapore, I've seen the sight and there is no way that track is opening with the park. Of course it could be for a future attraction, but since Transformers is opening in 2011 this would have to be for 2012 at the earliest. And I don't think B&M would manufacturer track for a 2012 ride in 2008. Of course it is still a big question if this will ever happened, especially as Dubai World, the big investment company keeping Dubai going is close to bankruptcy. But I think there is some yellow B&M track laying around somewhere in Dubai. I wonder how much of the payment B&M had got. Maybe they will withdraw from the contract, and try to sell this ride to another park?

  20. This is probably for universal studios Dubai? By any normal construction rate this would have been almost up and running now. Look at Intimidator that was manufactured after, and is almost standing complete! Something probably happened that delayed construction of this one. So which parks do we know that recently has been postponed and was supposed to get a B&M Hulk Clone? Universal Studios Dubai! And that fit perfectly with this being a looper too.
  21. I remember seeing pictures of the coaster when it was built, but didn't really pay attention to where it was built. I was in Cebu in September, and I saw the tower. I remember thinking is that the coaster thing on top of a building a saw some time ago. Kind of fun to find out I was right Didn't go there though, but the building looked pretty nice in night with the lights! Nice report!
  22. The tire-driven lift hill looks a lot like Mine Train Ulven: http://www.rcdb.com/1457.htm?p=4258 or Skull Mountain. And those are also family coasters.
  23. If we count the horizontal beams on the lift they are now on the fifth or the sixth beam. In total there is going to be 11! This thing is huge! And on top of that will be the track and the top. Really looking forward to seeing more of this construction!
  24. Nice pictures! I really want to go to Octoberfest. Olympia Looping is such an amazing coaster, and just the whole atmosphere seems like something you don't want to miss!
