  1. Excited about a possible bash in Orlando or another in Tampa!
  2. I'm thankful that the Orlando parks all have beer (minus MK) and we can enjoy an adult beverage while having fun at the parks!
  3. I just got the Blu-ray and it's awesome! Roller coasters in the raw volume 2 in HD is insanely awesome!
  4. Quality idea! Thanks for getting it going!
  5. ^ FYI Miracle Miles is moving to a different month. Rumor is that it will go to early March or another time when it's not 100 degrees like it always is! That race put me in the hospital this past year! It's nickname is "miserable miles" due to the heat index always being around 110 for it!
  6. Epcot is awesome! It holds the title for Orlando's most expensive cover charge for a bar! Still the best time to enjoy beer on any day of the week! Quality stuff down at LegoLand. There are still some private deals on AP's from area businesses. It's kind of one of those things you just have to know about it and have the link to the deal!
  7. They've been testing this gate for a few months now off and on, mainly during slow times lately, I'm surprised they pulled it out today with how crowded it was! I think anything to speed up the process will be great. I'd too like to link a credit card to my pass to make it all easier while on property. What will clog this system? A huge group with bum tickets... it will kind of be like a drain, a huge clog will back it all up... But I'm sure that's part of the kinks they're working out/have a plan for.
  8. The train was a surprise. I don't know how they can get rid of it if they keep the same course from the raceway to the beach. I am not going to head north for any races this season. I think I'm sticking to Orlando and south on I4. I'm going to do the Disney Half and probably the St. Pete Rock n Roll Half in late February. There are also several 15K events locally I'll do just for the fun of it. I did the Georgia Marathon last year, but not this time. I don't like hills! As you know, we can't train properly for hills here in Florida!
  9. Full time videographer/AVID editor for the largest hospital system in Florida. I shoot and edit procedures/techniques and hand the video out to media doing stories on it. Also produce a ton of videos for websites and presentations. Beats my old news reporter job! I also coach and ref soccer.
  10. Happy Daylight Savings day all! Hope you had sun this morning in your run! Last weekend I ran the Daytona Beach Half and honestly it was a great race! I wasn't expecting too much from this race since it's only four years old and doesn't have a large field of runners, but it was a really great time! There were only about 1,00 people running it so it never got crowded, even at the start. They had eight water stations throughout the course and medical personnel everywhere! The cool thing about this race is that it started at the "Start Line" of the Daytona International Speedway (Daytona 500 track), went out to the beach, and then back to the track and you finished at the "finish line" of the raceway. It was an out and back course with one pretty big hill over the inter coastal waterway. One crazy thing happened, we were stopped by a 4 1/2 minute train! They had people there to time the train and they said they would take it off our official time, though they haven't yet. Other than that, it was flat and fast! Just about everyone in my group PR'd )except me. I took a few pics with my crappy BlackBerry, sorry I didn't take more, I wish I would have, but was concentrating on the race. If you're in the area next October, plan on running it! They said they're going to try and move it from the GA/Florida football game weekend, as many people complained about not being able to particiapte in the "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" festivities due to the race being the next morning. I'm just glad my Georgia Bulldogs beat the Gators! Anyways, here's some pics. Before the race, people started to gather at the Daytona International Raceway on the actual track NASCAR runs on More pre race stuff Start Line You don't realize how big the track is until you run it's 2.5 miles! We stayed on the bottom as the embankment is 40+ degrees! It's early and I need a haircut Finish Line My Galloway running group Yours truly looking hot with the medal! Pretty cool hardware, just about everyone who ran said it's better than the Disney medals and I agree!
  11. Glad to see the Alachua County Fair is back this year! It does seem like there is a lack of rides compared to years past, but I believe a different ride company was used before the year off. Are they having wrestling out there again this year? I did a live interview with "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes a few years back in my TV days there... It doesn't get better than "The American Dream" at the Alachua County Fair!
  12. I honestly am mad at my wife for having to go out of town for work and not allowing me to attend as my almost three year old hates it when I ride coasters that she can't! She cries every time they deny her at the Hulk entrance!
  13. Yup! We'll be out and about Friday somewhere in Otown as well as Sunday! I think SeaWorld is in the plans, but who knows.
  14. The DEVO costume rules! Great stuff!
  15. Oh man! The pictures remind me of my trip to Oktoberfest a few years ago! I had too much fun in the tents that I wasn't allowed to ride one of the coasters. My wife has some awesome pictures but due to our jobs, we don't post them! Thanks for the great pictures! Hope you've sobered up from it!
  16. It's finally cooling down here in Orlando! Holy cow until this week, it's been 85 degrees at 7AM with humidity! That just sucks! Funny how I easily knocked off a minute of my average pace yesterday with the weather in the 60's with no humidity! Anyone running the Daytona Half coming up Georgia/Florida weekend? I think it's on Sunday, Oct 30. I'm signed up and in case you don't know, you start at the "Start Line" of the Daytona International Speedway (NASCAR) and head out to the beach and back into the raceway and finish at the raceway "finish line." I'm probably running the OUC half in Orlando come December as well. It's a really flat course through the streets of the nicer parts of downtown Orlando. It doesn't go near the parks in case you're wondering. Also, I'm looking for a relay partner for the full at Disney in January. I signed up for the full, but I honestly don't want to run a full. I ran 15 miles a few weeks ago in training and thought, "the last two miles really sucked, 11 more will just suck more than watching Barney all day long."
  17. Being an Orlando resident with an almost three year old, I can say that locals with kids around my daughters age are psyched for LegoLand to open. I think the excitement is more than for the expanded Fantasy Land right now because it's finally here. It seems my little one can ride just about everything at LegoLand FL, not at Disney, SeaWorld, and definitely at Universal. This has parents happy to drive an hour down there! I'm excited! I've always wanted to go to LegoLand out in California, but now it's just down highway 27! Great pics! The gardens do look great!
  18. being in my 30's, I can't wait for LegoLand to open! I've always wanted to go out west to see that one, but never made it. I'm psyched that it's opening down the road. Lego's are still fun. My little one plays with them all the time and it's something we both can get into! Nothing like our demolition derby nights with Legos!
  19. Now that there are families going on trips, I can start going! My almost three year old loves the parks and gets mad when she's too short to ride a "big girl roller coaster!" Looks like everyone old and young had a blast! Can someone say LegoLand Florida Bash for families????? Great pics!
  20. This is just awesome! The Mindbender was my first looping and the GASM was my first woodie! No Mine Train backstage awesomeness yet?
  21. It just sucks so bad my wife's working schedule is keeping from DSB AND BGT Bash! Man, I'm jealous! Keep the great updates coming! Waffle House???
  22. I'm moved! It might be my bowels, but I'm moved! Great stuff! I think the second biggest problem is what's also happening to the Hippos in Orlando! Please tell me there will be a second Orlando Chapter soon! Edit: can't spell tonight
  23. ^ I did the first Alaskan cruise back in May, quite different scenery! Looks like a nice little ride around hurricane alley! How packed was the ship? I know it's been at capacity but did it really seem packed or was it calm in terms of the amount of people on board?
  24. Any idea on what kind of beer there will be???? You had me at GASM but free beer, I'm in! Just wondering if it will be something local like Sweetwater 420 or generic like Crud Light!!! Coasters + Beer = AWESOME
  25. Oh I will. There's also a free half in Cocoa Beach this weekend. The drawback, it's a 4PM race on Saturday. Talk about hot! They're just asking for donations to help their ministry in Haiti. I don't have much info on that race though. Anyone else doing the Disney Full?
