  1. Hmm well according to RCDB Clementon changed the name of Tsunami to J2... Or apparently JackRabbit 2... Maybe in respect for the disaster? I never really understood that sort of thing anyway. I was so pissed when they took out scenes from Metal Gear Solid 2's ending that had the Twin Towers... They took out portions that meant it just kinda didn't flow at all... BTW anyone know what happened to the campaign to save the JackRabbit?
  2. Actually Soda wouldn't be the best thing to drink because it dehydrates you... Dehydration is your enemy if you don't want a hangover...
  3. I believe that 200 proof is pure alcohol... Still shots = bad... Yeah I got kinda drunk one night doing shots... Good thing I have never been hung over...
  4. This won't change anything ever for consumers. Sony will either license it or they will win the appeal. Consider that there is a stay on it until the appeal happens anyway. So even if eventually they have to change the technique it isn't happening too soon. Also Sony will never pass this cost to consumers as they make a whole hell of a lot more than this on systems. So realistically this won't affect consumers in the least. So no need to panic. Hey I mean the PS2 still has tons more games than any of the other systems and many more highly rated games. So don't panic and enjoy that black box. Oh yeah GOD OF WAR ROCKS!!!!! Thats reason enough to get a PS2.
  5. Uh Oh... Ban coming... Amazingly effective though rotflol...
  6. Elissa it really shouldn't be a problem. I mean I would think that if you were that fat you wouldn't fit into the tube anyway... Somehow Waterparks seem to bring out the largest people in the world though... I swear I have seen many that I wonder how they defy all the laws of physics and stay on two feet as opposed to belly crawling... Maybe that sounds mean but seriously I saw the largest person I had ever seen at a Waterpark... I seriously think he would have floated... Sorry I'll stop...
  7. Well if you want max compatibility then do what Robb does... MPEG1 works on anything!!!
  8. jpg is just the 3 letter file extension for a jpeg.
  9. Yeah quite a few coasters actually... I was in Thorpe park last year when one of those huge rainstorms hit. We got a final ride on Nemesis Inferno during one of the short downpours at the leading edge of the storm. Then we tried to head over to Ninja I think and it just dumped right as we were next in line and they shut it down... Needless to say there wasn't a whole lot of shelter available and so there was much scrambling for cover... Fun day but really a bummer with the weather...
  10. Hey at least they are trying to have some capacity... And haven't gone the Splash Mountain route... Seriously what were they thinking on that...
  11. Great update... Looks like a fun weekend...
  12. Dr Evil was great... Until Goldmember... Kinda sucks that the first one is still the best one..
  13. I don't really understand why they don't replace the trains... I mean how much must it cost to keep something like that not making money. You would think that purchasing specially made trains from someplace else would satisfy things.
  14. Just change the file into a jpeg using paint. Just open it and save as a jpeg file and see what the file size is. Besides that a bitmap is just terrible for putting online as it is completely uncompressed. I think Robb said they don't allow bitmaps anyway. Jpegs are a great compression for most things as it is fairly good quality and any browser will open it. Just take a look around paint and you should figure out how to do it pretty quickly.
  15. Change it to a jpg and reduce the resolution... Shouldn't be a problem to put up the image at all.
  16. That thing looks crazy big... I mean how does it look larger than the MGM one? Man I wonder what the ride is gonna be like. Also they really aren't going to have a Twilight Zone theme? I guess it probably isn't as recognizable there but still what will it be?
  17. Just out of curiosity how many of the halfpipe type waterslides let people go backwards? I know that WaterWorld here in CO has pretty much since opening year. I've always been too wimpy to try it... Maybe someday...
  18. lol... (hopes to be considered if it ever happens... Doubts it would happen though...) I think they are hoping things won't get too bad. Lets face it if it becomes too big a pain they might shut it down. I hope it doesn't happen because it is a cool resource to talk to peeps about coasters.
  19. Please don't use WMV's for your distribuition... They don't play well on anything other than Windows. MPEG4 would be a great solution but Divx works great on most machines as well.
  20. Is it really that bad Twister2? I find it kinda hard to imagine that it is quite that painful on Labor Day weekend. I mean school has started for almost everyone and other parks are almost empty...
  21. Robb: I just checked and Lakeside, Elitches and Waterworld are all open that weekend. Great time to go to Waterworld except that some of the scenery in the rides seems to be worse at the end of the season of course the tradeoff is tiny lines on most rides I've never tried to hit Elitches that weekend and I still haven't been to Lakeside period. Well if it happens I would honestly say plan a day for Waterworld as there are plenty of rides to do. Elitches could probably be done in a partial day as long as it is fairly empty. The real problem with the park is that almost all the rides are limited capacity so they can get very full on big days. Of course that is assuming you don't want to hit the Waterpark. Remember though the Edge might look cool but WaterWorld has the same ride and they have the 3 person tubes which means even higher on the other side  (although I guess we probably haven't seen what tubes they will use at Elitches yet...)
  22. Ok Divx and Xvid are not lossless at all. To be lossless you can't lose ANY data from the original. MOV and AVI are not a single type of codec they are wrappers and can represent many different kinds of compression types. MOVs will play on any version of quicktime but that limits them to Macs and Windows. (although many will play in VLC and Mplayer) WMV can be several different kinds of compression and keep in mind that this doesn't work well except on windows. Anything WMV3 can only play on Windows Media Player which only works on Mac or Windows again (and only runs well on Windows). MPEG is a standard that will work on anything. MPEG4 is another great standard and Quicktime Pro will allow you to work with it. Great great stuff for the price. (MPEG1 will work on almost anything and MPEG4 works on near everything although I don't know if WMP supports it... MS never likes standards though...) Divx is a closed standard that requires you download a codec. It works well but is slightly undesireable because nothing supports it natively except VLC and Mplayer. Xvid is basically an opensource Divx but it is even less common than Divx. Limited compatibility is a bad thing. Real Player is extremely disliked these days and I wouldn't suggest using it period unless someone asks you for it. I think most of that is accurate. If not someone can correct me. MPEG is a good direction to go though as most any player supports it.
  23. Um I rode Halfpipe in mid-October during frightfest... So no... Also you must be kidding about them being smooth vekomas. They are possibly the most evil uncomfortable vekomas anywhere. I was blown away by how smooth Kong at Marine World was compared to Mind Eraser. Also any boomerang that bangs your head around as much as the one at Elitches should be condemned...
  24. God of War... All weekend... Man that is one awesome game. OMG it is cool. Anyone with a PS2 (that is over the age of 17 it is M rated with nudity and serious violence) should check it out. The game is one of the most amazing looking anywhere and has some seriously intense sequences and some amazing bosses. Great Great game set in a sort of twisted Greek Mythology. There were a few downers for me but the game is currently the top rated game on the PS2 on gamerankings. Pick it up and do yourself a favor. Oh and if you do rent it and you are too young and get grounded I take no responsibility as I warned you...
  25. Why they added that when the same ride is at Waterworld is beyond me... I mean seriously add something unique Six Flags!!! I'm sorry my bitterness about this is probably getting old. I just don't really understand the logic though. Twister 2 is pretty fun. Honestly it is bumpy but sad thing is it is still smoother than Boomerang and at times rivals Mind Eraser... Yes Elitches home of the true killer vekomas... Honestly Twister 2 has some fairly fun parts to it and it does give you that kind of out of control feel that a wooden coaster should. I wouldn't ever ride in the back though... Oh and Halfpipe is a blast... Assuming they haven't found some way to crap it up over the winter. Of course this is Six Flags... So they might have.
