  1. Gotta love East Coast peeps who know nothing about what a severe drought is, until they start paying more for food from California, that is, if it there's water for irrigation left. I'm sure they think the Colorado River looks like the Mississippi River flowing into the Ocean, when it's dried up.
  2. Does anyone know if all of the Track Segments and Columns are On Site? There's still a lot of Orange Track Segments and at least 1 Column down at Intermountain Lift, Inc., as of Monday Evening.
  3. There was Blue Track and what appeared to be Neon Green Columns in the Yard at Intermountain Lift in June 2014, and I saw the Orange Columns for Phobia this past June. There was still something Blue in the Yard though.
  4. These Deep Foundations are tied together like those on Wicked, BomBora, and Cannibal. I will eventually break out my BomBora Foundation Photos one day. lol
  5. Completely slipped my mind to mention that online reservations are taken on the park's website for the character dining. You can always call guest services and/or the annex at 1.801.451.8000 M-F 9am-5pm for any information, if you want to know now, before all the additional information gets put on the Frightmares Page, which you would expect to be up already. 3 Hours should be plenty of time to get from Lagoon to Salt Lake International to make your flight on time. The Temps during October can be from a High in the 80s or even 90s to lows in the 20s and Snow (Lagoon opened in 97' on a Saturday with 1ft of snow on the ground). The last Friday night of Frightmares in 2003 was cancelled (and the Saturday) just after the Park opened for 30 minutes and Roller Coaster didn't come back from the sleet and fog during test Rides. lol While the park opened, I was unable to open my rides and I kept all my operators inside the warm Train Station, until we got the call to close it down. lol
  6. There is a possibility I might be able to meet you at the Bountiful Costco on the Friday Afternoon/Evening sometime after 3pm on the 9th, but I won't know until closer to the date. It's unlikely there will be a discount offer via the Fun Time Club for that weekend, unless they are doing a non date specific discount, which doesn't happen often. Lagoon does offer Character Dining for an additional fee of $25 (or more, but I can't remember if the price went up last year or not) from 5:30 to 6:30 that includes a Bread Bowl with Choice of Chili, Beef Stew, or Broccoli Cheese Soup, Chicken Strips, and Deserts, photographs with the Costumed Characters, and a Timewarp Wristband that lets you skip the lines to the Houses. I will most likely be there both Friday and Saturday Afternoon til Close, if you need someone to ride with you in front and back rows and for Jet Star 2.
  7. The best discount on All Day Passports is to buy them at Costco ($39.99), and there is one located conveniently off of the 400 North 1-15 Off Ramp (Exit 317) in Bountiful. Any other/better discounts will be found by joining Lagoon's Fun Time Club on the bottom of this page http://www.lagoonpark.com/tickets/deals-packages/ on LagoonPark.com
  8. Quick Update for Anyone Planning on Visiting Lagoon, August 16th thru August 21st, and August 23rd. KUTV, the Local CBS Affiliate, is having their "Viewer Appreciation Days," where if you mention "KUTV" at the Ticket Window or Use the Promo Code, you can get an All Day Passport for $30.00+Tax. This is Known as "Hell Week," because the Park is at Capacity. Complete Information can be Found Here: http://www.lagoonpark.com/tickets/deals-packages/
  9. ^ I apologise, as that wasn't my intention.
  10. A bit off topic, but there are plenty of parks where you can do this. Of course lots all over Europe and Asia, but even here in the US (Six Flags over Georgia, California's Great America, Elitch Gardens, Oaks Park, Carowinds, Universal Orlando, Sea World Orlando, Santa Monica Pier, and Coney Island just off the top of my head). However, Lagoon is still the Only Amusement Park with a Branded Commuter Rail Station.
  11. I can say with 99.9999% certainty, the ride was not stopped for repeated hat runs, as you assume. Wicked, like the other Coasters, besides Cannibal, have a Specific Scheduled Time that Hat Runs are Conducted. Even before these scheduled times, it was never SOP to stop the ride and search for a Loose Article every time a guest lost an item. If they indeed Suspended Operations several times, and did enter the ride enclosure to look for something, it was for something important. When you are unfamiliar with Lagoon's SOPs and Operations, it's easy to misinterpret things. With Roller Coaster, I would be willing to bet the Area Lead had the Remote and they didn't send a Train because the Lead was walking along the Track to get over the Walkway and to a safe spot. Unless the Single Rider Line is Full on Wicked, you can always follow the Posted Single Rider Direction Signs at the Exit. Also, the Designated Seating Line is for those who require a Booster Seat. I can count on one hand the times I have seen a Train be dispatched with an empty seat, when there is a line and the Single Rider Line is Full. It's an extremely rare occurrence. There are many who have come to an LIF Potluck, Met Everyone, and Left with a New Appreciation and Understanding of Lagoon's Operations. Besides, I make better Funnel Cakes than any Park.
  12. The Moser Spring Rides are no where near as awesome as the ZIERER Family Drop Towers. I would, and do, prefer riding them to S&S Towers.
  13. I never realized Lagoon, with 50 Rides, was so much higher than many of the parks listed by BDG, well, 47 if you minus Sky Coaster, Catapult and DTR.
  14. Kennywood came to Lagoon and took a gander at Wicked in 2007 that Dal Freeman Designed, so that would be why Kennywood's Sky Rocket ended up with similar characteristics. Premier also may have gotten the job due to the problems with the Track and Column Fabrication by Stakotra S.r.o. This is one of the many reasons Lagoon wanted Intermountain Lift, Inc. to Fabricate the Columns and Track Segments for Bat and Wicked, but it didn't happen. Your Wicked comment Confuses me greatly, especially since the coasters, other than Cannibal, have a designated "Hat Run" Time in the Afternoon, which suspends operation for no more than 10 minutes, and it's been that way for several years now. I don't see how the multiple signs advertising the Single Rider Line at Wicked doesn't help with Capacity. Lagoon's Operations Team is Very Good. So much in fact, that after the first evening of Wicked's Opening, the Height Requirement was raised 4" overnight, from 46" to 50", because of the Booster Seat Fiasco. Once the Single Rider and Designated Seating Staircases were built, the Height Requirement was lowered back to 46". I also don't find an issue with a usual less than 45 minute wait on weekdays (Sun-Thurs) that are more like Under 30 Minutes Mostly. Of course, crap happens, and the wait could be longer, but not usually. With Trax Light Rail and Frontrunner Commuter Rail, you specifically board a Southbound Green Line (Route 704) Trax Train at Airport Station, outside Terminal 1 at Salt Lake International Airport, Transfer to a Northbound Frontrunner (Route 750) Train at North Temple Bridge Station, and Transfer at Farmington Station to the Free Lagoon Shuttle (Route 667). I believe Lagoon is still the only Amusement Park where you can go Directly from Airport to Park in 3 Transfers or Less, no to mention Lagoon's contribution to the Frontrunner Farmington Station.
  15. If you are referring to Cannibal going down and switching out Trains there, which usually takes no more than 10 Minutes, that would account for a surge at Wicked, since anytime Cannibal does go down with a line, everyone takes off to the south end and mostly to Wicked. If Wicked was going down, and they were switching out Trains there during the day, that is quite unusual. Otherwise, when you are on the park about 3 times a week, you get a good feel of average queue times.
  16. If you can, Ride Cannibal After Dark!
  17. As a Single Rider, you are just there to fill a seat, so the Single Rider Line may not save that much time. I'm sure those kids were quite happy about being split up.
  18. Everytime I have been there since it opened, the wait has always been 60-90 min for the normal line, and about 15-30 min for the single rider line. Just saying that the line for Wicked is much shorter now, which suits me just fine because I like the ride. And this was a Sun-Thurs not during Hell Week? I'm usually at the park every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday, and have yet to see a Wicked Line that Long since 2007, except during very busy Fridays and Saturdays.
  19. I'm not sure how Wicked's Under 30 Minute Weekday Line hasn't been "Manageable" since it Opened 8 Years ago. :\ If you don't plan on staying until close, to enjoy everything the park has to offer, sure, head immediately to Cannibal and wait outside the fence for an undetermined amount of time. Otherwise, enjoy what else Lagoon has to offer until you see Cannibal is Open. With 4 Trains in the System you are usually Looking at Under 45 Minutes from Samurai's Gong, Under 1 Hour from Catapult's Sign, and Under 90 Minutes from Tilt-A-Whirl's Entrance. It's also been quite easy to get 3 Rides on Cannibal from 8pm to Close. Next Year, once Lagoon is using more Trains in the System, as well as using the Waiting Zone and Second Loading Station, the line will move nearly twice as fast. I also hope you bought your All Day Passport at Costco. If you do, and Validate for Bounceback, you can get up to 2 Full Days for $53.99 + Tax!
  20. I would say Cannibal is the best compact coaster, since it's dimensions are approximately 500ft by 200ft.
  21. Yes, however, you do not want to go through the Lagoon Roll very Fast, but it picks up the Speed in the Spiral.
  22. We had to use a chest mount, so it wasn't the smoothest video we were able to shoot, but regardless, I don't think it rocked "so much" either. I think we are just spoiling people with our normally rock-solid mounting to trains! Agreed, I guess we're all used to your train mounted vids. The only reason I asked was because much of the design was done in-house and you always wonder about how well rides, especially coasters, will track in that situation. Obviously Dal Freeman has experience designing coasters, but I was just wondering how well the ride experience turned out in this case. It appears to be done properly, and Freeman as well as Lagoon are to be commended for what looks like a great addition. Dal Freeman and Dustin Allen are Engineers as well, so Lagoon did the exact same thing MACK and Disney does, as well as any Ride Manufacturer. Also, with ART Engineering GmbH cleaning things up and Dal Designing and Engineering Wicked and BomBora, with Dustin Allen, there was nothing to worry about in that respect. I LOVE, that Cannibal, and BomBora, can never be Duplicated and Copied by another Park as well.
  23. Having tried it, I can't really agree with your opinion. You either like it or you don't....there doesn't seem to be much in-between. :\
  24. Red Berry (Red Sour Patch Kids) and Chocolate, and I must say, it's not a bad combo.
  25. Every time I hear that name, I think of sushi. I now want Lagoon to serve the "Lagoon Roll" sushi in one of their restaurants. Ugh, and now I just want sushi in general. "Lagoon Roll" sounds very tasty! Not a Bad Idea for Lagoon to Cross Promote, kind of like the "Cannibal Dots" Dippin' Dots. It's also a shame you guys didn't get a night ride.
