LOL @ the warning sign: "Do not ride if you're a big girls blouse, a mummy's boy or a wimp!" -James Dillaman -
^ That's cool, JZ, but I think you should have posted it in your thread, as I don't really see how it pertains to the new hyper. I was told the construction would be part of the PR hype for the ride, and will be done in a matter that will build excitement throughout the rest of the season. -James Dillaman

Nice pictures... But you didn't do Frankenstein's Castle? Fail. Best $3.50 you'll ever spend -James Dillaman -

Yep. Now if only Predator, SOB, J2, GhostRider, Voyage, etc. would join Villain in the coaster afterlife. OK, out of all of those, I've only been on Villain, Ghostrider and Voyage. If you're going to insist on putting Ghostrider and Voyage in the same category of hell as Villain, then I shall be forced to refer to you, sir, as a nincompoop. Maybe I caught Ghostrider on a good day. Yes, Voyage is too intense to ride 4,000 times in a row. But I wanted off the Villain before I even got to the lift. It was so bad it made me mad. My teeth ache thinking about it and I had low expectations to begin with. I actually added Voyage to that list as a joke. You forgot Cyclone at SFNE... ouch... -James Dillaman -

^ Yeah, I always like meeting new people from the site. Glad you got on Steel Hawg and liked it as much as we did! -James Dillaman -

^ We rode Air Crow, but they were being strict about the snapping, so I didn't ride them more than once. Cornball was running well, although I did notice some shuffling especially in the last half of the ride. Still, the first drop in the backseat is worth it no matter how rough it is. As for Steel Hawg, let me elaborate: It is surprisingly smooth, and feels almost like a eurofighter, especially the hang time halfway through going into the diving loop thing. The lift is very fast, which is great, but I don't see why they would ever run more than 2 cars on it, as that was about as fast as the crew could load them while we were there. I guess it's nice to have spares around, though. -James Dillaman -
^ I'll repeat what I've heard: Diamondback. I don't see them bringing back ride names of defunct rides. They don't want to bring back old memories of removed rides. Also, I would have heard about it from the management. Certain people would have definitely called me, as they know how much I loved King Cobra. Plus it would also fit the western theming, as they are found in the American west. Although one of my sources is still saying Mustang is in the running... so I don't know for sure. -James "Diamondback is a type of rattlesnake" Dillaman

Nice photos. I'll agree, on certain days I've found the floorless coasters to be headbangers, and even the inverted coasters. When Dominator was at GL, I could never ride it twice. And for the record, Superman: Krypton Coaster is better than Kraken -James Dillaman -
I just got off the phone with a source. The name is still 60% likely to be Mustang, but Diamondback was also being tossed around. They are finalizing by the weekend, from what I understand, with an announcement to be made in a couple weeks. Also, there were plans to really hype up this ride. The PR job planned has not been seen since 2000, when SoB was hyped. Hopefully this one will turn out better, but to quote my source: "It'll be one heck of a ride." -James Dillaman

^ Yeah, it was fun talking with you guys while we waited for Steel Hawg to open back up. You should definitely stay away from Fascination, unless you want to be hooked in a downward spiral of addiction. I was almost selling spare organs for quarters! Just kidding, but anyway, on to the end of the pictures! -James Dillaman Final shot, into the mountain! Thanks for looking! A rare shot of it in action (This coaster is tough to photograph, except from the skyride.) The elevator lift of LoCoSuMo. Another look at my favorite park. Here's a closeup of the train for everybody so you can see the restraints clearly. Some random photos to finish up - here's the train of Hoosier Hurricane This just shows how "outside the park" Steel Hawg is, as stated, it's where the paid parking was last year. This is what 24 points will buy you - an amazing Iguana sculpture!!! How random, but it's better than the 3-piece wrench set, my other option. Like I said, it was pretty popular, especially with the parents and grandparents of kids who were out enjoying the park. Greatest amusement park game ever? In my opinion it is hands down. Action shot, this might be like porn for any of the midwest trippers. I heard they took over the game for a while. Ahhh, wish they were worth more... I did pretty well, winning 9 times in only 20 plays, and for many of them, the place was packed! So back to my favorite thing to do when the rides are closed... -

More, I have to go to work, so I'll post the rest later... Thanks to Mirage Entertainment and Indiana Beach for one of the most entertaining shows I've seen at a themepark. The heroic couple at the end! The "thrilling" climax to the show. And down he goes. The high diver on top of the "mast" and then is off. the chase is on... uh-oh. Three guys leave, but one's skis are tied to the dock, so he doesn't get very far.... There is also diving, as Indiana State law requires dive shows in all amusement parks apparently... This looks like fun. Wakeboarder. A good view of many of the cast. The "pirate queen" The towing boat... Some more of the stunt show. -

there's still more.. These guys are very talented. Ski and Jet ski, side by side off the ramp! The show is worth seeing for the boats alone. Someday I'll get one of these for my pool in my backyard... oh and I'll get a pool. Some more russian swing fun. Flying... Corny? Yes. Silly? Yes. Cheesy? Yes. Awesome? Of course! So on to the pirate-themed stunt show, another must see on any IB trip! Finally, nice to see the rides operating, huh? And the lucky person with the ride to themselves... Paratrooper, on the water of course. So this shows how empty the park was, no wait for Den of Lost Thieves! If you fall in Lake Shafer, the specially bred flesh-eating carp will devour you. Again, is there a more awesome car ride out there? Is there? The car ride gives some nice views of Lost Coaster.
