  1. ^Yes you do! Great pictrues!!!! Glad to hear it's still running in good form! -James Dillaman
  2. I'm open to your arguments, but I don't really see many supporting facts to any of your claims. I used to bash six flags like everyone else, but lately they've been doing better. Besides, in a recession like this, if every one of their parks was independently owned and operated, I think this year would see a vast number of them close. Sharing profits can be good in tough times, as the stronger parks can keep the weaker ones afloat until a better economic environment comes along. -James Dillaman
  3. I think the abundance of old, traditional amusement parks in Pennsylvania have a lot to do with all the railroad coverage in the state. I know Kennywood was built at the end of a railway line to entice passengers to come out on the weekends. I would imagine the steel industry as well as other industrial powerhouses in the state have something to do with it. Also, has anyone else thought of the fact there isn't much else to do, so that's why there are so many good amusement parks? I'm by no means bashing Pennsylvania, as I've had great times at both Kennywood and Waldameer, and I bet the blue-collar population has something to do with it, too. They know how to have fun at theme parks. -James Dillaman
  4. ^^ Seriously, Zach, don't base your thoughts on Raven on a morning ride. It's not fair. Think of basing a Beast ride on the first ride in the morning... -James Dillaman EDIT: ^Really? Don't tell me your parents never exposed you to sarcasm and comedy before.
  5. ^ Why do you have to ruin it for all of us who are smart enough to con others, Larry? It's Darwin in action. -James Dillaman
  6. I'll be at Kings Island only a short time, but hopefully I can find you. I'm only available from around noon until 4pm. I took someone's shift from them that night. Darn me for being a nice guy, but I know he wanted off for his son's birthday, so I passed up on themepark time for it... grrrrr. -James Dillaman
  7. Ride Raven as close to the park closing as you can get. It takes all day to warm up, and really shines at night. Trust me. Your first ride in the morning will be a let down. Ride it as late as possible. -James Dillaman
  8. What? Haven't been on the amazing 420ft Giant Drop in Australia? ORRR the amazing Scooby's Spooky Coaster? Shameeee.... Proximity is my excuse. For only living a scant few hours away, and having a car, not going to Indiana Beach is borderline inexcusable. And don't miss the dive show, it's pretty fun. Splashin' Safari is my favorite waterpark at an amusement park. Be sure and hit it. I can't wait to see your photos, Zach. Wish I could go, but I have a recording session that night, so it's out of the question. -James Dillaman
  9. I'm sure you'll have a great time, Zach. Now I'll just have to tease you about Indiana Beach. Been there? What, you haven't? -James Dillaman
  10. Remember watersports is also the major summer pastime in Michigan, and Muskegon and Lake Michigan are not too far from MiA... -James Dillaman
  11. I laughed when i saw it was called Love Land... I live in Loveland, OH. They should build it here... -James Dillaman
  12. ^ Yeah, as far as I can remember the only sign out front was the "You must be this tall" sign. -James Dillaman
  13. I heard from a source that there's a deal with Cedar Fair for three signs, so I'm calling Carowinds 2010 will get a new sign. Maybe the third one will go to Canada's Wonderland, or Kings Dominion. A giant sign where Hypersonic XLC once stood, maybe! You heard it here, first! -James Dillaman
  14. ^ I can't stress this enough.... Never, NEVER go to KI on the fourth of July. Unless you're a season pass holder and you only want to go for the fireworks.... -James Dillaman
  15. I'm with Joe on this one. This is a tragic accident. My prayers go out to the family involved. Think of trying to get on with your life with that "If I'd only..." weighing on your soul forever. -James Dillaman
  16. Anything that gives love to Magnum is okay by me! I miss you, Maggie!! I'll be back soon. Don't cry: it only makes the seperation hurt more! -James Dillaman
  17. Is this one road trip? Because if you're driving from Cincy all the way to Georgia, then you should seriously consider hitting up either Beech Bend or Dollywood. Beech Bend has Kentucky Rumbler, one of the best GCI's out there as far as I'm concerned, and Dollywood is also a great park. It just seems a shame to skip it. -James Dillaman
  18. The Wheels are way too shiny! Seriously, though. I appreciate Six Flags having GCI theme the trains. They didn't have to attempt any theming at all. I'll take whatever I can get, especially in the tough economy. We're lucky to get new coasters at all! And I don't think they look that bad, either... -James Dillaman
  19. ^ An added culture credit that's worth seeing if you've never been is Mammoth Cave National Park. Not too far from Bowling Green, KY. Just FYI... -James Dillaman
  20. OMG OH NOOOZ REALLY? PWNAGE -James Dillaman
  21. ^ With breakdowns and everything my brother and I waited 10.5 hours for it when it first opened... how do you think I felt after getting off that? At least they gave us free pictures and free pop when we got off. -James Dillaman
  22. The mortality rate for swine flu is in line with seasonal flu now. So your saying keep stuff shut down when it turns out it isn't as big a deal as people thought? The economy is already in bad shape, people need to get back to work, shopping, and entertaining stat! It'll be okay. Wash your hands a lot, cough into your sleeve, and avoid touching your eyes and mouth. Seriously, people need to calm down already. -James Dillaman
  23. I'll be there Sunday, but not for this event... Hopefully all the enthusiasts are polite and get their Diamondback rides in early during ert. I see they have last ride of the night on Diamondback, but hopefully the Julia and I can still get a night ride in. I find it odd they picked this weekend, as it's Gold Pass bring a friend weekend, where Gold Pass holders can bring a non-pass holder to the park for $9.99. Might be pretty long lines.... -James Dillaman
  24. ^ Hey Big Mike. Long time lurker, but seldom post in the thread, but I could probably meet up with you at KI on May 23. If you want more people to hang out with, of course! I still need my Big Mike photo credit. -James Dillaman
