  1. ^ Yeah, don't thank me or anything, Chuck. I rode son of beast with you.... knowing how awful it was! -James Dillaman
  2. ^ It wasn't that bad, Joe. He didn't stack around, as hewas with a bunch of non TPRers. -James Dillaman
  3. ^ "Due to the intensity we can not allow rerides." Ha! -James Dillaman
  4. I might have to pick this one up when it's available for ipod download. I love Screechin' Eagle, and I already have Raw 1 and 2!! -James Dillaman
  5. Nice meeting you this weekend, Jiggety Johnson! Had a blast. I'm really glad Diamondback opened back up Saturday night. Weird how it was closed the time that I wasn't there.... (looks around nervously). Anyway, glad to hear PP is a fun ride. I know lots of people on here have been dissing it, but they haven't even been on it... Great photos as always. Feel free to hit me up anytime you come back to the midwest! -James Dillaman
  6. ^ Yeah, out of 201 coasters for me it's at the bottom. Come to think of it, looking at pictures of many rides here on TPR is better than riding SoB. I rode it twice this weekend, once with Guy and once with Chuck. It's the first year I've bothered to ride it twice, and as always: it stunk. Even without all the jackhammering, the ride layout is awful and always will be. My opinion, of course, but if you like it, you can ride it all day. One less person in the Diamondback line, as far as I'm concerned... -James Dillaman
  7. There is entirely too much of me in this update. I don't remember you taking so many pictures with me in them. You are sneaky! Oh well. I had a great time. I'm glad you could hang out with us, JZ, it was so much fun! I'll catch you around later this season. Did you get pics of lunchtime when we ran into Doug? -James Dillaman
  8. If you aren't using sarcasm, then this needs to go in the "things said on TPR" thread in random. Seriously, Tatsu is a wonderfully forceful flyer with, get this: No Painful restraints!! As for SoB being amazing... even if it were butter smooth, the layout is boring and there is absolutely no airtime at all. It will end up being torn down one of these days, and the peasants shall rejoice. Go ride Voyage or even Raven or Cornball in your home state, and then compare to SoB. No contest. Even Racer's a better woodie. At least it attempts to have some airtime. -James Dillaman
  9. ^ I think so. We also ran into Doug Stanton while eating Skyline... but we'll let the photo takers tell that amusing story.... -James Dillaman
  10. Why not upload them directly to TPR like Zach does? Great photos, Zach! Sorry I couldn't stick around Friday, but I'm looking forward to Saturday's pictures! You're quite the photographer, now! Excellent shots! -James Dillaman
  11. It's the reasons most restraints must be pushed down on before they will open up.... Precaution against restraint failure. -James Dillaman
  12. ^^ Yeah, you don't have a visible avatar... -James Dillaman
  13. A fermata is placed above a note or rest in music to notate staying on whatever it is for a longer time. When placed above a rest, as it is in my avatar, it means be quiet for the length of the rest and then hold it out longer. So shut up, basically. -James Dillaman
  14. There's a ton of info on Cedar Point in the first 4 pages of this thread, right down the page from you. I'd start there, and post any other direct questions you need. Or just search for Cedar Point info, as there's tons of threads every year i've been here asking the same things... http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50425 FYI, Summer is Summer for Cedar Point. The crowds in June, July, and August are usually comparable. And Cedar Point is 3.5-4 hours away from us here at KI... -James Dillaman
  15. The best advice for Kings Island is to actually don't hit Diamondback first. Diamondback eats through lines like crazy, and you can always go in the single riders line if it's a big problem. The rides you want to hit (in order of worst capacity to best, assuming you want all the credits, and taking into account usual line lengths in my experience) are: Firehawk Invertigo Drop Tower Delerium Runaway Reptar The Crypt (If you catch it open, get on it!) Flight of Fear Backlot Stunt Coaster Diamondback Fairly Odd Coaster Flight Deck Beast (Ride it at night) Vortex (Ride it in the back) Son of Beast (if you must.... OUCH!) Racer Little Bills Giggle Coaster (gotta steal a kid to get this one...) Other musts if you have time are Avatar Airbender, Scooby Doo's shooting dark ride, and, in August, White Water Canyon. The Wild Thornberry's Log Flume is also well themed, but small and a capacity nightmare, especially during the hot summer months. Hope that helps. Remember: You should hit up firehawk as soon as possible, and then Invertigo. These two lines get really long really quick, due to horrible capacity. Trust me! Diamondback can wait. it's better after it warms up, anyway. -James Dillaman
  16. ^ I haven't seen Brad in years. Sorry I missed him. Beast Crew '03 rules!! Thanks for riding with me Saturday, Zach. I had a good time. diamondback really surprised me. I didn't think it would be that great, but in the back it's a solid ride. Nice photos, too, Zach! Hopefully I'll see you this Saturday. I'll give you a call! -James Dillaman
  17. Definitely a back-seat ride! got on it 3 times today. once in the front, once in the back, and one towards the middle-back. First drop in the back is really good. It's hands down the best ride in the park. Easily one of the top in the state. -James Dillaman
  18. Flipdude, sign me on as someone who would pay to have you ship it internationally to me. I think your artwork is really unique and quite funny. I love the imported hobos comic! -James Dillaman
  19. Maybe the yellow track is for SoB... Cedar Fair tried taking out the loop, changing trains, now they're just throwing in the towel and are replacing the track with B&M track. Since it's already more of a steel coaster design than a good woodie. No more lawsuits! -James Dillaman
  20. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ hahaha Simpson's quote! "In Soviet Russia, car drives you!" um.... yakov smirnoff.... am I really that old? The simpsons didn't invent all of their jokes, they borrow from popular culture like every other show. -James Dillaman
  21. I'm going to try and get out this afternoon. I've heard good things, so it will be good to experience it myself.... PKI man, where do you work when you're working at the park? -James Dillaman

  23. Nevermore!!! Thanks for a post on this thread not filled with speculation and bull crap, just straight up in your face metal! -James
