  1. That castle looks bigger than Disneyland's!
  2. ^^^Woo! Just gotta find a way to get to SFOG from New Orleans now.
  3. God, if I still lived in SoCal, I'd jump on a ticket for the backstage tours and sessions alone! Sounds like an incredible event, and hopefully Deep South Bash will be as awesome as WCB sounds.
  4. Bought the expansions but un-installed them. I find that you can accomplish so much more with custom scenery objects.
  5. Part of the issue is that a record-breaker now would need to be so big and technologically-advanced that it would be an extraordinarily expensive expense for any park. Not counting cost, a record breaker at this point would more than likely descend into a gimmick thrill, like KK or TTD, and more and more parks seem to be looking for overall experience rather than a one-shout thrill whose claim-to-fame could be lost at any time. In my opinion, I see a ride like Maverick, Texas Giant, or I305 as way more enticing than a once-and-done thrill, and I feel like parks are starting to take a turn towards this as well. I'm not saying that there's still not going to be technological innovation, or that I don't want coaster design to progress, but it seems that parks now want better experiences and overall rides over a record. I guess for me it's not a question of "is it possible" but more of a choice between a world record or a better ride.
  6. Just trying stuff out with RCT:Loopy Landscapes
  7. Wow... "Tax evasion"? I love how that whole thread escalates from "He's as ass" to "He's a criminal." It honestly surprises me how people on a theme park site can be so extreme. It's not as if this is a competitive world. They're not running trips or have an exclusive club. I find it incredibly juvenile that there are grown people getting this worked up about being banned from a theme park site, going to extreme lengths to trash someone's facebook page. It's ridiculous that they'd harass a webpage that they were let into, as that's just a clear betrayal of trust. It's roller coasters and theme parks! If you don't like the site or find the jokes offensive, Leave! It's not as if there isn't a big disclaimer on the bottom of every single page. You know what you'll get at TPR, and if you don't like that, go. We don't want you here either.
  8. I got ^^^ for Xmas. It's an incredible book. I have the first one as well, and both are the best theme park related books I have.
  9. Just tried Canes on Saturday for the first time. It's a Louisiana-only chain of chicken finger places, and while the chicken itself isn't jaw-dropping, their "Canes sauce" is pretty stellar. As one friend said, if Jesus had a favorite sauce, it'd probably be Canes sauce. Oh, and as a transplanted-SoCal resident, In n Out is still heaven to me. I miss double doubles like no other...
  10. It's awesome to see roller coasters in comics that look like actual roller coasters, let alone specific ones in real life. Once I can replenish my funds, I'll definitely keep this in mind for purchase.
  11. I hate that I don't live in SoCal anymore. I'd gladly pay the $53 for WCB this year, but tickets from New Orleans to LAX aren't the cheapest...
  12. Wild Cat at Southport Pleasure Beach? EDIT= 1st Clue's text is the song used for SPB in the CE2 video, it's international, and although it's not a record breaker, it's in England, where Sir Alec Guinness was knighted. Oh, and the park as it existed then is now defunct, so that could be the emptiness. Yeah, I'm probably wrong...
  13. ^^I'm not going to sugarcoat that I may be a slight Knotts fanboy, so that certainly affects my opinion. It's also not as if it doesn't affect the ride considerably, as I felt in a front-seat ride, where you practically crept over the drop until you were able to pull the back few cars. However, in the back, it's still a great 2nd half. It's still nowhere near the level it was back in its first few years, but it still is a good ride. The first part of the ride is as it has been, and you still get ejector air in the back car during "the drop." However, it's increasingly becoming a backseat-only ride, which is unfortunate. I'm all for Track Topping the ride, though, and hopefully CF can find a way to fix the ride up in the upcoming years.
  14. I was there on New Years Day and rode Ghostrider multiple times w/ the full stop. To be honest, I still find it just as fun as it was before, if not more enjoyable. The ride hauled ass up to that point, almost moreso than it used to, and post-MCBR was still crazy. That being said, I stayed mostly in the back row, so that definitely changed my perspective. The worst part about it was that the whole ride shut down multiple times during the day, including once while I was on it. The employees have the same thoughts as the general TPR populace and miss the non-stop, as they mentioned a few times throughout the day. However, the stop doesn't neuter the ride and it's still a great ride in my book.
  15. Nice! Guess this is a "next generation queue," like what the blueprints on Pg 1 talk about.
  16. I'm wondering if they might be planning on just lowering the second hill to restore the airtime there...
  17. Nothing says desperate like "Blob(b)Alvey"... And they're calling you/us childish...
  18. I love how I posted a well-formed response defending Robb and TPR as a comment on the site early last night and this morning, because of "spam comments," they disable all comments on the site and don't clear mine through moderation... Can't show another viewpoint, eh?
  19. Oh, ok... That looks nice Blah. I thought Coupon made it, because he posted it on NE, but that looks well-done. Did you get your inspiration from Six Flags Carolina?
  20. I'm trying to apply as well, but my school won't let me miss that much time...
  21. It seems like Tokyo DisneySea's entrance plaza, with the hotel and all.
  22. My parents started taking me on international trips when I was a little younger than three years old. I may not remember everything that happened, but I do have memories of certain events or instances. I also have a huge appreciation for traveling and world cultures, which I attribute to my being a traveler at such a young age. I find it wonderful that KidTums is traveling all over at here age and I hope that she'll grow up being able to love and appreciate the world, a trait increasingly rare in these days. Plus, as as added benefit, exposure to foreign languages at a young age will help her pick them up more quickly when she's older. I fully support Robb and Elissa with their decision to take KidTums all over the world. It doesn't matter if she remembers everything about the trip, but if my experiences taught me anything, they are extremely beneficial and will still leave her with certain memories revolving around her travels.
  23. Wow, dmaxbas... Bitching about someone coming up with a stupid argument in your Silver topic is mighty hypocritical of someone who acted in the same way for a Gold park. Please don't bash NE because of your beef with one member. And no one "had it out for you," they just had different views on what they like in a park. Anyways, I've been eagerly awaiting this, so submit it soon!!! I see a win with this one, if the quality is the same throughout.
  24. As an accolade panelist over at NE, I must say that I'm quite impressed with this design so far. Can't wait to see how it looks!
