  1. Avonturenpark Hellendoorn was a beautful little family park, and the main ride, Tornado (Vekoma Looper), was a great ride and very smooth! Personally, i liked his park just a bit more than Slagharen, especially the whole "mood" of happy families and nature all around. EDIT: I uploaded a POV video of Tornado to TPR here: www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30564 Anyways, on to the pics of day two: Avonturenpark Hellendoorn And in conclusion a POV shot of a boat ride!!! ...thats what happens when you go on a "family" trip i guess. Vekoma Corkscrew thru the trees! And now for what you've all been waiting for... more Tornado! (Notice the cool antenna on the top of the lift hill) The log flume station. We got pretty wet on this one compared to the one at Slagharen. The log flume in action. The haunted house for Halloween. Tornado's first drop taken from the monorail. The park's Monorail. Pteranodon Pedalo's. The building of "Rioolrat". The short outdoor part with a blurry rat train flying by! Time for a great coaster -- A Vekoma Junior themed to sewer rats! This is me, surrounded by a maze. Now this was fun! I don't wanna spoil anything by saying what goes on in there but it was a fun show! This was a nice pirate themed Wave Swinger. Nice shot of "Donderstenen". This should get the award for "most unique first car theming on a roller coaster". And now for the next kiddie credit! (wich is themed around rocks!) More Sungai Kalimantan. That starts off with an aquaduct that is also the Q-line! But on to some other rides, like the rapids ride "Sungai Kalimantan". This turn was the only rough spot, and that is only when you sit in the front and even then it isnt really painful. Corkscrew with lots of hangtime! Vekoma looping coasters are great! (at least this one is). Tornado! The never before used name for a looping coaster! Some random cheap Halloween Theming. The park entrance, the sign says its the park's 70th anneversary this year. Apparantly, this is what happens when you get to the park a half hour early.
  2. Last weekend I went on a two-day trip to the Netherlands with my family to do some family parks, the parks were great and so was the weather, and the crowds were light to. I've never before taken the time to make a TR here on TPR so this is my first one, enjoy! Day one: Attractiepark Slagharen: And to conclude day one, a nice pic of Looping Star's lift hill taken directly into the sun (originally not on purpose). The park entrance at evening. Here's a pic of Slagharen in the good old days. See? Still a good ride though. Wild West Adventure is an indoor boat dark-ride, with boats used in rapids rides but just no rapids. The fast hill at the end, with a little bit floater airtime! Good ride! The turnarounds, and the train in the loop. The twisted first drop. Credit #50!!! Yay! And the Star of today -- Looping Star! The Giant Wheel on Main Street. The long Main Street connecting the two seperate parts of the park. El Theatro was actually a regular cinema playing a movie about a haunted mine, much like the one they're now building somewhere in Tennesee, only this one sucks. The Sky Tower was a good oppertunity to take some good pics, and of course i managed to not even make 1 good pic up there... The Fabbri freefall (like the one at Thorpe), these thing actually launch you down to the ground to give you some awsome airtime! The little splash before the big one... how cute! The Log Flume ("Ripsaw Falls"). It even has a little astronaut on the top! The "Schwarzkopf giant moon swinger ride"! The ride was actually pretty nicely themed. Yay! First kiddie credit of the trip! Nice shot of some of the rides near the entrance. Upon entering the park the first thing you see is this nice fountain with a horse stuck in the middle of it.
  3. Nice pics! Terra Mitica looks really nicely themed but its a shame their aren't any good coasters. Hopefully next year's Intamin Ballcoaster will change that.
  4. The Vekoma Wooden coaster seats are quite comfortable IMO, at times i don't even notice that i'm violently being thrown around! Seriously though, Vekoma Woodies are great!
  5. Ehh i don't wanna be a nag but i just noticed this, in the title it sais 2007 and in your post you say the coaster is for 2008, wich one is it actually? EDIT: Ok 2008 apparantly, thanks.
  6. The Mammouth Railroad sounds original, but even though they're not so original the other two sound good to, but still Mammouth is probarly the most interesting. I'm just happy they're getting a new coaster (hopefully a better one this time!). I totally agree, from what i can see from the pictures, that part of the park looked alot more pleasant and beautiful without the Screaming Squirrel.
  7. Wow congradulations Robb and Elissa!
  8. Nice! Good to see the first pieces of track arrive, now it won't be long before vertical construction! Thanks for the pics Virdu!
  9. I think the loop structure might have been a Pinfari thing, I think this coaster was an Intamin built ride with input from Pinfari on the design, if I remember correctly. I'm not sure but don't think Pinfari did anything on Cop Car Chase/Leathal Weapon, maybe Intamin just build the same kind of loop as Indiana Jones becouse they hadn't invented the current kind of non-SoB-ish loop yet.
  10. Ultimate (Lightwater Valley, UK)
  11. ^ I'm not sure but i think you're talking about the model shown at the Euro Attractions Show 2006 (picture 2), i don't know about the other guys but i always thought this (picture 1) was the "ZacSpin" model for Terra Mítica and Linninmaki. Correct me if i'm wrong. IMO the model (pic 1) looks a bit short, yes, but it can still be fun and a short ride isn't necessarily a bad one. The Prototype shown at the Euro Attractions Show 2006. (Source: Coastersandmore.de) The actual "ZacSpin" Ball Coaster model for TM and Linninmaki. (Source: Coastersandmore.de)
  12. ^ Yeah i can't see 'em either anymore! Thats strange they were there before.
  13. Great pictures once again Franky! Slagharen looks fun! I'm probarly going next week during closing weekend (any tips?) so maybe i'll finally post a trip report of myself here on TPR.
  14. Thanks for the nice pics, Sören! Looks like you guys are really having a good time in Orlando! And also once again a TR has proven that its humanly impossible to take a normal picture of Guy LMAO!
  15. Woooooooohoooooooo! Europe 2007 new coaster count: 19!!!! And 4 Intamins!!!! Thanks for the news wrebbit! EDIT: Plus 3 projects for 2008! Wooho! Europe rocks!
  16. Looks like you guys are having alot of fun over there! Thanks for the funny pics, LMAO! You guys always succeed in cheering me up after a bad day with your great trip reports! Thanks!
  17. Nice pictures! Movieland looks like fun and its good that their adding more rides, i'll be sure to visit this park if i ever get to the Garda Lake area, especially since i am one of few people who would count X-Speed as a credit.
  18. The new themed area and the new rides sound fun, but a family coaster, a simulator and a water ride still can't replace Cop Car Chase, IMO they should spend their money on a new (real) coaster.
  19. Its highly unlikely this park will ever be built: 1) With those drawings they wont get alot of investments. 2) Its being built in Walloon, wich unfortunately isn't exactly the richest part f Belgium => less guests => again less investments. 3) There are already alot of good theme parks in Belgium so this park will probarly have alot of competition and therefore is unlikely to succede. 4) The owners want to build B&M's and Intamins, for a park with such bad odds its (sadly) unlikely that will ever happen. (Hopefully the current parks will build a few Swiss coasters in the future...) I hope i didn't made any mistakes in these arguments, but we have to face the facts, the odds are against them. Don't get me wrong, i would love to see this park be build and its beautiful how these people are determent to build their park, but i just had to stress the facts before anyone became overentheusiastic.
  20. The whole "launching vertical like a space shuttle" concept sounds great, i just hope they won't use the Sky Coaster lay-out (like on the picture) on these coasters, but the "Xtended" variant, or a custom design becouse the regular X-Car Sky Coaster looks a bit to short and boring IMO.
  21. Nooo! They're scrapping it! The bastards! Horrible!
  22. Nice TR! The Halloween guys at WBW look better then the ones at Walibi Belgium, in fact the whole Halloween theming looks alot better, that is when compared to last years Halloween, maybe this year's WBB Halloween will be better. Funny how you ran into other coaster entheusiasths, did you guys sorta recognize each other for being etheusiasths and just started talking to each other?
  23. Sounds good, a Sea Life aquarium could be a nice addition to the park, but i think the new owners should spend some money on a new coaster, most of the park's current coasters are pretty lame, i've read that even the famous Screaming Squirrel isn't all that special.
  24. Wow looks cool! Nice to have a tower like that here in Europe, i've always wanted to visit the Stratosphere Tower in Vegas and this one looks even more impressive, so i'll be sure to visit when its finished!
