From what I have heard there may be plans in the works to change the parking area into an open air market. I can see why they would want to try something else, the place is a ghost town. Bass Pro is right next door and is pretty consistently mobbed so those guys are just doing something wrong. I would hate to see that mall be the reason it's not built. The parking garage and existing canal along with the wall will contain the noise on the neighborhood side but I can't see them building anything similar on the mall side. Hopefully a deal can be worked out. There have been exceptions made for other buisnesses so it seems possible to me.

Really looking forward to this one. I wonder how much this change has to "work". The ride is still going to be very intense. If a rider's ride is what you want, it's done. -
Worst Coaster Experience
dragonskeep replied to airforcekid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm pretty sure this is what sex is like for women, except for the bizarre nuts part. I had something else here but I took it out even though I think they would have respected me for it. My worst coaster experience was e-stopping near the end of the launch on Hulk, it wasn't gentle, but it was cool getting to walk down the tunnel. -
Thank you. That ride is quite sick. No way I will get out there this year but I plan to attend the new F1 race soon so I will drive over and check this out. There are still great looking rides even here in America that I am unaware of, Titan is the newest on that list. I have also never been to Carrabbas.

^ If this is true, and it does seem plausible, I wonder if the opening will be beyond May. There is at least plenty to do and this wont stop construction. There probably fine on time. The remaining track can go up pretty quickly if the only problem is the Skyride. I think coaster wise it's nearly complete. Something strikes me as very odd though: during the hard hat tour it was said that track would be done in that next week, they had to have known about the clearance problem by then, right? This will all work out fine but it is surprising to me that this particular mistake could have been made, It seems like an easy catch. The first photo I saw screamed problem to me so when did BGT know, just curious.

Those photos that showed it would go over the Skyride always looked like it wasn't quite working out...but I did hear, some time ago, that the plan was to lower the Skyride towers. People have made all the obvious points and it does look fishy but it could just as easily be something completely understandable. Perhaps just going higher wasn't an option, the next element is the heartline which is probably somewhat speed specific. Does anyone have knowledge of how hard it will be to lower the 2 towers? Maybe it isn't as big a deal as it seems. I hope it wasn't a mistake but if it gets fixed and is awesome I don't really care.

There may be more water in that trench than they were expecting but they will get it figured out, if that is the case. The Skyride section may just be on hold because it was always intended to be the last piece. By the time we get to ride it will be awesome. If there were a delay of some kind I wouldn't be surprised at all but it will be worth the wait.

Best Ride at WDW

They put a cheetah head on the train and it still looks bad ass. I didn't think I would like it but I really do. I hope the decals on the front are pretty minimal like maybe just the eyes, but I'm confident they will look great. When Seaworld built Manta I feel they did a perfect job. They took the available land and built a coaster that is perfect for their park. Busch Gardens Tampa seems to be doing the same thing with Cheetah Hunt, well almost. I will give them a break about the name, which by the way I don't see a single good reason not to change (sorry), because every other aspect of the ride is really good. I think when it's done the design team will be able to sit back and smile widely.

At Universal Orlando I will go into the curious george foam ball area and shoot peoples children. Once in a while grandma gets it too. -

I am considering this as well and my plan is to do Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens. All of the suggestions would be a great time. -

I hope this works out for the park. It seems they really want to create a dominating ride. Trims or no trims I am going to ride it this summer. -

^^For now. I do think we will see trims on the drop again. -
Local news said the noise study passed on the Tangelo Park side but was too high on the mall side. A deal will have to be worked out with the mall or a special noise ordinance similar to what Universal has will have to be extended to OTP. That side of the mall is as dead as a mall can be without being closed so they may be in the mood to bargain. A lot to do yet but at least it is moving forward.

I am glad to hear the launches are a little faster than originally thought. Launching to 38 out of the station is sounding a lot better than 30, a lot better...and that airtime parabola should be great taken at 50 MPH. Cheetah Hunt is officially one of Florida's best coasters? -

I saw a video of Mark Rose. He said the water in the RR area would still run withh current, 18 inches deep and the coaster will go up current just a foot above the water. Sounds very cool to me. -
