  1. My fiancee and I just signed up to be ACE members (a long time dream of mine ) and we are going to use our discount to buy season passes to Holiday World for 2006! I'm am so freakin' excited! Does anyone get the feeling that this is going to be one long winter?! Ph well, it will be worth the wait just for the 24+ seconds of airtime! I'm also thrilled about the "Adventure River" just because the other "Adventure Rivers" that I've been on were relaxing and alot more fun then just a plain Lazy River. And Elissa I am TOTALLY with you... forget everything else, we're just going for the Thanksgiving themed dark ride! haha!
  2. The only one that I've riden is the Italian Job. I'm sure it wouldn't be my favorite out of all of them but if you haven't riden it, its hysterical. I went with my friends and I think we laughed like crazy the whole way. It's not the tallest or fastest but it was fun!
  3. Okay back to the first post... a Family Guy Dark ride would be awesome! RANDOM. sorry.
  4. First of all I can't pick my favorite wooden coaster. Everyone loves a woodie! (wow... that kinda sounded dirty... lol!) but seeing as right now my big hype is all about Top Thrill Dragster cause I just rode it for my first time and about peed my pants. The moments where you are rolled out and waiting for the lights to turn were the SCARIEST moments of my life and all I could do was hold on and pray we cleared the hill! (the train before us had a rollback)
  5. I have to write a big paper on a company for my marketing class and naturally I picked Six Flags. I have found some things that I need but not all of them. such as what would you say the main "product" of Six Flags is? The family experience? Is there a name for the "dancing old man" campaign? And also what things about Six Flags you think are unique. I'm still researching like crazy but I didn't think I could find a better source then you guys!!! Thanks!
  6. Yeah, Raging Bull can be tame in spots but I think I'm a little impartial to it... I was proposed to on the lift hill! (so it will always be #1 in my book... as far as Six Flags rides go...)
  7. ^ likes to eat weird and possibly gross food < has the hiccups right now v thinks I should drink some water
  8. Am I the ONLY person in this forum who absolutely adores Napolean Dynamite or am I just a "friggin' idiot!"? Anywho, my vote for worst movie has to either be House of Wax or A.I.: Artificial Intelligence. It's long, It's pointless, and it's boring.
  9. Although I don't dub it as the "best Disney ride ever" I too am a fan of the Jungle Cruise.... although it would be a whole lot better it the 'jungle cruise guides' jokes where actually funny...
  10. My best friend and I rode the "Racer" at Kings Island 17 times without having to get off one night and they even ran it once more for us while the fireworks where going off! Also, one night while feeling particularly random the ride ops let my entire family stay in a "Disaster Transport" car for 10 rides since it was the end of the night and obviously no one else was in line!
  11. Hi! My name is Laura and I live in the middle of nowhere (aka Illinois). I work as a nurses aid in a local retirement home and I love it. My hobbies are traveling to amusment parks, riding roller coasters, making a big fool of myself, and being random. I graduated from high school last year with honors and managed to be voted "Class Clown" at the same time. I am attending a local community college studying various things because I just wanna try everything out. I came about this site when I was bored and I googled "coaster montages" one day. I had already seen Rob and Elissa on some shows that I taped off of the Discovery Channel's "Thrills, Spills, and Chills" week. I found the coaster "music videos" hilarious and 'oddly reminiscent' of many of my theme park excursions with my friends!
  12. Yeah, I don't understand a word he's saying either. Anyways, I am bored out of my mind. I have to work a 9 hour day today here at my job as a nurses aid at the local retirement home and I leave for my first trip to Cedar Point within the past ten years and I am losing my mind. Mondays are always slow and I can't even talk to the residents about my excitement because none of them know what Cedar Point is let alone what a roller-coaster is (some of them are really out of it)... but don't get me wrong I still love them all dearly. So I am crazy bored and i have done nothing for the past three hours but sit and read posts on this website and make new posts of my own and get paid for it (yes, my boss knows that I'm doing this and is okay with it.)! I'm sure I'll post some more junk within the next 6 hours that I am sitting here waiting for this night to be over!
  13. I'm a HUGE Cubbies fan... is it a problem that my fiancee is a die hard Cards fan? but, forget all the professional sports I'm all about the college basketball and I say... GO FIGHTING ILLINI!!!!!
  14. Thank you.... technology and I don't mix I don't think cause not only did I not know how to put up an "avatar" but I just broke the copier here at work....
  15. The last ride I rode was my buddy The Beast!
  16. Yes, it's true that the set of House of Wax burnt down while they were taping the fire finale (if thats what you want to call it) ending to the movie. They showed a whole bunch of footage of it on "The Making of The House Of Wax" on MTV. Then entire cast and crew was there but everyone made it out ok. The entire soundstage that the set was on at Warner Bros. actually burnt down and they had to clean it up and build a whole new one before filming could resume. The even had to remake all the wax figures and carve the whole house out of wax again. I think that they should have taken it as a sign that this film should not have been made.
  17. Can I have "The Beast is my Buddy!!!"
  18. So yeah, I have a couple of 'stupid questions' to ask and I'm sure I'm not the only one so if anyone else has one please feel free to ask it here. Ok, so here goes... how do you guys get all those pictures up underneath your screen names?
  19. I was just wondering... what's everyone's own list of "Top Ten Theme Park Thrills?"
  20. I've only been to three Six Flags (sad right?) Six Flags St. Louis, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Six Flags Great America but out of both parks here is my favorite... Steel: Raging Bull Wood: Screaming Eagle *both give you airtime like crazy!* Water: Bug's White Water Rapids (log flume nicely themed on a classic Bugs Bunny cartoon)
  21. My fiancee and I are going up there on May 17(tues.) ,18(wed.), and 19(thurs.) and it's his first trip ever to the Point so it would be great if there were small lines! Are the lines pretty much like that on all weekdays in May?
  22. I really hope it's not like that on Tues. because I'm going up there for my first ride on Top Thrill Dragster! Was Maxair closed because of high winds? Oh well, as long as Disaster Transport is running I'm set for the day! just kidding....
  23. I wasn't really all that scared of coasters as a kid. All I know is that I became hopelessly addicted to coasters somewhere in between my first ride on the "American Eagle" at Six Flags Great America and now. Although, I must admit that to this day there are still some rides that scare me to death before I ride them. It took me about 3 times to ride "Good Mummy" at Universal Studios Orlando with my eyes open. But after I did I loved it so much I think I rode it like 7 more times. I am going to Cedar Point in 3 days to ride Top Thrill Dragster for my first time and I'm nervous just thinking about it! Oh well, being scared it half the fun!
  24. So I had the unfortunate experience of having to sit well... halfway through House of Wax. For any of you who have seen the original House of Wax (1953) and were expecting this to be a remake of it, it is anything but. The original was about an older man who's life work was his wax house. He had wax figures of famous historical icons (e.g. Joan of Arc). When his wax museum goes down everyone thinks he died trying to save all of his wax figures. Well, he comes back with a wax face (he made himself a face of wax because his face was burned when he was trying to save the House of Wax while it was burning down) and he kills people and dips them in wax to recreate his famous historical wax figures. But the original wasn't at all gory. It was more of a thriller/Alfred Hitchcock type of movie. The remake starring Paris Hilton (should have been my first clue right?) was disgusting. It had no plot what so ever! It's just three random murderous brothers that come out of no where and dip people in wax. It also had a ridiculous amount of gore. I was depressed that they turned this 1953 thriller into your typical brainless teen slasher movie. So in case you couldn't tell or if you just skipped all of my ridiculous, boring ramble I don't reccomend it!
