-I hate when employees are talking on their cell phones. -I hate when there is 6 OPs chatting and/or flirting behind the ride OPs panel, and 2 guys out checkin restraints. -I hate when people abuse the handicap policies. -I hate when I go to SFMM, and there are all long lines, so I say "well, at least theres Granny Gran Prix", and it ends up Granny Gran Prix has a long line too! -I hate when people drag their kids onto rides that they are afraid of. (ex. I had to sit through 1/2 of a startours with a loud screaming cry from the front row.) (ex. 2, our Matterhorn line was delayed for about 10 minutes because two young kids didn't want to go on, and they were hugging a handrail and crying, and the dad was shouting at them "we didn't come to Disneyland to not go on rides, now get on", and they just kept crying, and they people start gossiping about parenting in the queue, and then the Matterhorn ride op says, "you know, you can switch off who rides and who watches the kid" and then the kids decide they want to ride, and then the airgates open, and they start crying again, and run back the the handrail, and the dad starts yelling again, and then the gossip escalates, and then the older brother grabs a girl, and forces her on a the ride, and buckels her to him, and then the operation finally resumes, all when its the 50th anniversary, and we want to be doing things) -When you go to the park with people that know that you are a roller coaster or park enthusiast, so they either keep asking questions, or they feel intimidated to talk about the rides. My friends know Im an enthusiast. I swear, if we went to SFMM, they would be afraid to say "I like the loop-de-loop" because they are afraid I would correct them with the actual term for that specific inversion. -I hate people who use the term "loop-de-loop"

What I am having trouble with, is you said: See...im no engineer, but if I was, I sure as hell wouldn't want to design this thing in less than a month. Just a thought. ...unless they have different plans down on the table, if thats what you mean. Also, I dont know if rides or paths for that matter will close down, as I am sure the park will only be open on weekends during construction anyways, for the offseason.

SFMM TR 7/13/05
arrowfanman replied to arrowfanman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was enjoying the expirence. I had seen it before, and hoped I could be in that situation... ...Im not going to say that I wasn't a bit scared though. I literally had every possible image of death flash through my head, and then I had to tell myself why that couldnt happen. Lol. The whole train had a good spirit though. -
Photo TR: Disneyland's 50th - July 17th, 2005

They lady next to us started waiting at 2, and got in at 7:00. We started waiting at 7, and got in at 8:30. It wasn't unnecessary to me, because it got 7,000 people out of my way. The lines were excellent (with the exception of Space!). I got on BTM in 15 minutes, Pirates in 3, HM in 5, Matterhorn in 20, a few fantasyland dark rides in 10, (Indy, Splash, Space, and Buzz I FPsed), and the longest wait of the day was 25 min for Winnie the Poo, as it broke down. The merchandise line got to 5 hours long. I personally wanted to enjoy the 50th anniversary, and celebrate why we like the park: the expirences. Not spend 1/2 of the day waiting for a 10 buck pin that says that I participated in the expirences. Anyways...nice pics! Very artsy. And I ate too many cupcakes. -
But if they installed that brand new manufactured Space track in elsewhere, then you would conisder it one. Like it was said, currently Disney's going to just rape the 50th. Then later, that is when they build a new ride to retain crowds. Disneyland is doing better than expected right now!...so it could be a bit.

Whats you favorite theme park.
arrowfanman replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would have to say Disneyland. Despite crowds, I enjoy myself more there, than any other park. After all...the park with the smallest castle had the BIGGEST impact on the amusment industry! Disneyland has been open for (almost...nearly there...lol) 50 years, and has gotten over 500,000,000 visitors, and that is the only time where a ride's mechanical failure was the cause of death. -
Well, they were proven wrong, with the war. It doesn't make the war any more ok. Then we would lose ALL of our allies, leaving Iraq in the heap that it is. The mistake has been made. We now have to deal with babysitting and nurturing that country back to health.

Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TV
arrowfanman replied to spike's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No...the bomber would have cracked bones sticking out of him, be speared through the chest with a spiked fence, be unrecognizable due to the massive amout of blood, and missing a few body parts, given the way Hollywood runs. -
I picked no...I wont say I feel lied to, but I feel misled. Yes, that means that we still have a war to fight. But could we have taken it back, I would hope we would.

I know TR's without photos can be boring, but you HAVE TO hear my story! Hey guys, Today I took my apparently weekly trip to SFMM. We showed up a minute or so after the park opened. We didn't want to join the suckers running to X, so we cut through Revolutions exit. We hit Rapids, because at 10, it was already hot, and then we hit Dejavu. We could either walk on in the middle of the train, or wait 3 trains for the front---We waited for the front. (On a side note, Dejavu's crew should earn themselves a sign with Mr. Six on it that says "Crappiest Crew of the Week...er, Actually, its the Flat Out Crappiest Crew.") Anyways, we got on, the floor dropped, and off we were, backwards, up the first lift. We got to the top, and I heard the engine slow down, and I waited for that "CHHH!" sound to release us.... ...5 seconds later, it didn't come ...10 seconds later, it didn't come (by now, TJ and I knew we had broken down) ...15 seconds later, it didn't come ...20 seconds later, it didn't come ...25 seconds later, it didn't come (by this time, our friend Scott had finally realized we had broken down.) So there we were, in the front of the car, over 100 feet up, facing the ground, with our feet dangling below us, being held in by an orange seat belt (those hefty OSTR's dont actually do that much for you in that situation), and we broke down! The kids on the ground went to the single rider line and started laughing at our train. There were people who started to freak out (I heard some girls saying "Oh my God, oh my God, this isn't cool!") A few guys started to joke about our deaths, but I could tell they were scared too. As much as I know these rides are safe, you cant blame me to be thinking in that situation "I wonder if those bushes below me are soft". I tried to ease any thoughts, by singing the song from Monty Python's the Life of Brian, Always Look On the Bright Side (of Life). Within the first few minutes, I kept waiting for some feedback from the station crew...finally I heard "Uh...Dejavu is currently expirencing some technical difficutlies" and I was SOO close to yelling "NO SHIT DUMBASS!" And then he gave the rest of the speil of "if you choose to wait in line". And then he finally said "Remain calm" to the train, as if he just remembered he had 32 people stranded over 100 ft in the air. Finally 10 minutes later, we were mechanically lowered back down into the station, and we got exit clearence for X, and we were able to use the breakdown as an excuse to get back on Dejavu later in the day. Other Highlights of my Day: -It was in the 100's today, so I filled up a huge waterbottle, TJ filled up a souvineer cup with water, and Scott filled up a water gun that TJ won at the shooting gallery, and we headed over to Goldrusher. I always wanted to make history on a rollercoaster. Since "longest ride" seemed a bit boring to me, I decided to be "the first person to engage in a full scale waterfight on a roller coaster."....lol. The only rule, was that we had to wait until the helix. So we borded the ride (in the very back vehicle, and with 1 person to a row), making sure not to waste any water. We rode the ride smiling. When we got to the helix, I just busted out and started throwing all of my water onto Scott. In one thow, TJ emptied his whole cup onto the both of us, and Scott took turns spraying me and TJ with the water gun. We all arrived in the station soaked, and with big smiles on our faces. -Like I said, it was 100 degrees, and HOT. We decided to stay cool, by soaking ourselves somehow every hour and a half or so (see the example above). Twice, the chosen method was Tidal Wave. What we would do, is ride in the back, on the sides. When you hit the water at the bottom, close your eyes, and stick your head out to the side as far as you can. You will catch the wave with your face, and funnel all of the water onto your body. You will be soaked ALL over your body, but comfortable within 15 minutes...lol...I did this twice. -I saw the Batman Begins: Stunt Show again. Despite a lack of effort on the batmobiles part, the show was better the second time. 1) They ARE getting better at the stunts and liptalking 2) There was more pyro, and even MORE guest interation 3) When you go with the knowledge that it is cheesy, you dont hope for any better...so I found new ways to appreciate the show for what it is. Well, thats all I can remember right now! Over and out! -Jahan

Robb has a job in the entertainment business? I am one step closer to a major breakthrough: Robb is a stand in for John Cleese. Anyways, California sucks (and so does the govenor...although, he is pretty funny, if anybody has been on T2 at Universal). What I would consider the best part of Cali, is that I am 35 minutes from hollywood, 1 hour from the beach, 1 hour from snowy mountains, 20 minutes from a lake, 45 minutes from the high desert (you can do model rocket testing and gokart/quad riding), etc.

Its about charm....believe me, I would know I say, its not the size mate...its how you use it. Although they stoped the walkthough attraction, they use it a lot in the fireworks, Remember...Dreams Come True, which is the most kick ass fireworks show I have ever seen. Anyways, I assume that you meant to lead off an actual discussion. -
Lol...I wont take a stance on the issue.

On some sites, these rumors are going WAY TOO FAR out of control. People are going to the Mountain, and seeing the footers and coming back on to say "yea, and the ride will do this, and this, and this." I have been going every week now, and have never seen anything to indicate anysort of a layout. I think that the Oriental Express will be removed, as it will cost much more to take down the other things. We all know how well SFMM preps for a coaster. Look at Scream! -Jahan

I was there today to, to do some filming, Superman went off when I was in front of the Goliath sign, and when I was underneath Superman. That must have been you guys! And Ninja opened at 12. I showed up at 12, and got a good 4 rides on it.
