  1. The actual deconstruction took a mere 1/2 a day to complete. The likely hood of photos getting onto the interent is weak. -Jahan
  2. ^^ And being we'll be coming from Magic Mountain, it would probably be best to keep her away from us forever! Oh, Jeff....DIE!!! -Jahan "You're kid is still beautiful. This is a good sign." Makanvand
  3. As a father, I can say without question that this is more than a little disturbing... As a former student of 3rd-grade math, I can say without question that this is more than a little disturbing... -Jahan
  4. A good chunck of the parkinglot is already done, but it looks as if they only painted a layer of "black paint" over it! It's still as bumpy and cracky as ever. And yes, they lines have already been repainted, so it is the final coat of that black paint. Sorry to dissapoint, but there wont be a SFMM update for this past weekend. We even got a mini Psyclone grave-tour and I forgot my memory card at home! -Jahan p.s. 100 pages....I feel dirty.
  5. Go to sleep Elissa!!! Congrats you guys. Your child is beautiful. -Jahan
  6. Disney couldn't build a theme park on 26 acres of land. Or a waterpark for that matter bannedkid...aren't you supposed to stop talking about Disney now? Basically, Disney has dumped a crap-load of money into cleaning up the area immediately around the resort--they're trying to control the area as if they owned it, like at WDW where they do own it. I dont understand the premise of the lawsuit itself, but I guess the city had some sort of agreement with Disney about keeping the immediate area "touristy" and clean, and Disney thinks this is violating that. Not saying whether that's right or wrong of them, but that's business for you. -Jahan
  7. Yeti Ball smell > Pirates of the Caribbean smell -Jahan "But it was close!" Makanvand p.s. I love you Robb.
  8. We ate at McDonalds today, and just the fact all of this is going on made it taste that much better! -Jahan
  9. No. EDIT: How come the poll doesn't have a "I would rather plug my ears with a cock-sock" or at least "I dont like either of them" option. -Jahan
  10. I had the weirdest dream last night! I dont remember the most of it, but what stands out... They had a "porn channel" for free on cable! And when I flipped to it, guess what music they had playing in the background of the porno?... The WarioWare dancing music!!!!! -Jahan
  11. I think this is only confined to our SoCal members, but I have hated Sit 'N Sleep commercials for as long as I can remember, even way back before Larry made it big! "Sit 'N Sleep will beat anyone's advertised price or your mattress is FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" I want to f--king kill YOU Larry! -Jahan
  12. Yeah, its every ride but Tower. The only reason I can think this is the case, beyond the nature of the ride, is CBS's bearing on the ride's lisencing and whatnot. ...well...when I spoke with an imagineer friend, that's what he told me. -Jahan
  13. ^^ You dont have to be an animatronic in human form to be a character! One of the most memorable of all Disney theme park characters is the goat that chews the stick of dynamight on Big Thunder! You ask anybody about Big Thunder and I guarentee they will bring up the goat! The memorable voice who belts out the safety speil is also a character. A lot of us can recognize "the wildest ride in the wiiiiillldernessss." And you must either have a freaking short attention span or you were riding the much quicker Disneyland version, to say that Brer Rabbit & Friends are not memorable! Space is an exception and not a rule, but there's no need to hijack this thread even further and explain that attraction to you all. I've said too much alread, as it is. -Jahan
  14. ^ But the show will change. You have people practically threatening to suicide bomb Disneyland when they announced that Pirates would be changed--you'll could never get that sort of response with either Soarin'. Its a nice ride, but with no real characters for guests to "connect" with and with no real story to tell, very few will shed much care if they announced the show would be changed. By adapting a movie into an attraction, you are already given a great set of established characters to work with. It gives a stronger starting point for your story and gives the guests somebody to connect to in and out of the park. -Jahan
  15. I would normally be the first person to argue against the "pixarification" of the parks, but I disagree with what you're saying here. Pixar is not simply a "fad". I agree, there is a computer animated movie fad currently and I believe its on the decline. Now that every body's doing it, we're beginning to get the same regurgitated crap stories that we getting the last years of 2D animation's life. (I'm looking at YOU Madagascar! Send me my money back! *sorry Penguin!*) But Pixar will make up the next generation of "Disney classics". Why? Because they make Disney movies far better than Disney can anymore! The solid characters, the timeless themes, the charming message woven seamlessly into a humorous story--all so the entire family can enjoy it. That is what Walt was doing back in the day and that is what Pixar is doing right now. Watch their films. They aren't simply the best because their stupid Apples can crank out the best rendering of an animation you have ever seen. Their stories are original. They are charming. They are timeless. They can be enjoyed by a 4-year old, teenager, or adult (which is most important because the adults are TAKING the 4-year olds to the movies!) Surely you have seen the ads for the DVD release of Dreamworks "Flushed Away". Now watch the trailer for "Ratatouille". It looks SOOO much better!!! It almost looks catered to adults its so classy and sophisticated! And that's the most important thing. Now that's over with, we can move on to the next matter of business--the theme parks. Me being a stupid, no-good Disney parks fan--I too have taken issue with the number of Pixar related rides. Disneyland's 50th taught us that the most timeless attractions were rides not based on the movies, but that have created their own characters. But if they're going to base the rides on the movies, I'm way happier they've chosen to clone over a bunch of Pixar rides rather than having a "Brother Bear" E-ticket or "Home on the Range" D-Ticket!! I dont believe that this influx of Pixar rides will contribute to a "decline" of Pixar--rather, it will ensure their continuing popularity. DVD's get buried in our homes, but park attractions stand the test of time. Not only are they far more permanent, but they reintroduce us to the characters on an annual basis (for those annual family visits). I highly doubt the "Disney Classics" from Walt's time would have survived as well without their theme park attraction counterparts. And as far as the attractions being built too early--Walt Disney built Sleeping Beauty's Castle at Disneyland 4 years before Sleeping Beauty hit theatres! I really dont think we'll ever see another "Pirates of the Caribbean". Those kind of rides are gone, only to cloned with each new park. So you better get used to the idea of Pixar-based rides because I am confident they will stand the test of time better than rides that really lack characters, such as Soarin'. -Jahan
  16. I'm not getting it. Oh well! Just put a ">Buffalo" at the end of all of it and it should make more sense! Anyway, this does support another theory: The majority of breeding in this world is done by the stupidest of the people. It's rather unfortunate. -Jahan
  17. Dammit! And a urine sample Robb?!?!?! A URINE sample?!?!?! WTF!!!!!! -Jahan
  18. ^ Not necessarily. It could simply mean that when their population is 4 times the size of ours and achievment in school is directly proportional to worth in society, they naturally have more honor students. -Jahan
  19. No, I do too. They're suffering from a bad case of the "Screamscape sydrome"--so many freakin popups that my popup-blocker consumes all function on the computer and blows up! Thank God for TPR. For the sake of on-topicness: This ride looks like fun. I cant wait to ride it. -Jahan
  20. She stood up. There is absolutely no excuse to do so. If you drop something, there is very explicit instructions as to how to handle that situation. Even if they dont speak english or are not familiar with "tram culture", they should know by observing those around them. When in Rome, do as the Romans. And nobody else was standing up. I'm not going to say I dont feel badly that they were injured--but stupid people. I'm sick of stupid people. -Jahan
  21. I thought we were due for a very special caption contest in honor of Barry's birthday today, so..... What's up with this??? Happy birthday Barry! Hope you had a good one! -Jahan
  22. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17014 Thank you, come again. -Jahan
  23. I'm a Disney fan. But I also like my money! So I can only hope that an increased supply brings down the cost of a cruise a little bit--or else I wont be setting sail any time soon, mates! -Jahan
  24. Lol...I like how much the guy is concentrating! -Jahan
  25. ^ I agree. That was my least favorite position there. I have always thought that the Riddler's station was horribly designed from the viewpoint of a guest (and now) an employee. See, when you're in the main line, you're moving at theoretically 32 riders a dispatch. When the line splits in half, you move at 16 riders a dispatch. When you get in your individual row, your moving at 4 riders a dispatch. The way the station is designed, you will end up waiting 10 minutes for the back and 40 minutes for the front!! This problem has worsened now with the Flash Pass. They route the Flash Pass folks to the back of the station--most of which wait for the front. So if the line is only 30 minutes long, they still could end up waiting the 40-minutes for the front and THAT results in SO many complaints--which only further slows down operation. Also, in reality there was usually only a grouper during Summer-weekends. This was problematic in that it wasn't "the norm". Guests weren't expecting to be grouped, were too stupid to recognize the benefit of being grouped, and therefore were easily frustrated when they were told where to sit. I also know what "cluster" of people you are talking about--they're nearly impossibly for the employees to communicate with. Long story short, they need to get somebody up there with a cutting torch and redesign that queue in the station. -Jahan
