Yeah, that's something I have to do regularly. just to make sure people are aware, or do not assume something about me that may be incorrect. a lot of people admire my openness and ability to talk about transitioning freely.

on that note, I came out during the last week of senior year in high school. figured, hey, it's only one week. yeah......it was one hell of a week. let's see: assaulted, thrown up against a wall, pinned against a wall, verbally harrassed, laughed at, ridiculed....um..I think that covers it. it was a fun week, let me tell ya! this is why I gave my 10-year H.S. reunion the finger. but anyway, back in 1994, it wasn't cool to be gay in high school. turns out I wasn't the only GLBT student, just the most visible. everyone else kept quiet and then came out to me after graduation.

my day was boring and uneventful. woke up, went online, ate lunch, slept. woke up, went online, played some GTA3 (finally made it to the 2nd island) ate dinner, napped. un-napped, watched some comedy central, and now I'm chatting with crispy on yahoo and waiting for my friend James to call me or come online, but I'm secretly thinking he won't which sucks because we made plans for later tonight.

One of the girls I work with told me that at her high school it's apparently cool for women to be gay....or act like they are. but only within the 4 walls of school. outside of high school you can lead your normal hetero life, but while in school, it's cool to be lesbian. not so much for gay man, though. I normally wouldn't have thought twice about this, but while working in another city about three years ago one of the girls told me that at her high school, it was considered cool to be lesbian. again, outside of high school you can be your typical straight self and that's totally fine. So with two instances that I am aware of (in the Tampa & Sarasota area) I feel compelled to ask if you've noticed this at -your- high school and if so, what your thoughts about it are.

hmmm..is "straight-acting" the new gay male stereotype? it appears to be more predominant than being a feminine gay man.

yeah what is it about girls making out with other girls that most (straight) guys like it so much? *shrugs* I've done it, I like it, but I've never thought about it from the perspective of someone watching. I think it's cute watching 2 guys make out, but I'm open-minded like that.

also, I didn't call a single Carrabba's. I just googled "Proprieter: Bret Baumgartner" and the first link came up with a news story of his wedding which included a mention that he was taking over as proprieter/co-owner of the Carrabba's in Aurora, CO. slick, ain't it?

that's been working for me. my roommate tried to make me follow her diet plan since she lost 74 pounds on Atkins. meanwhile I've lost 50 doing my thing. I'm just trying to eat more sensibly and less junk-food-impulsively.
