Six Flags Price Increases
calcajun replied to GAcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Since I am still working SF I don't have to worry bout prices yet. With my id I get 2 comp tickets per day at any SF park. When the day comes that I have to pay, of course I will without complaining. See, I also know the price increase should have happened a LONG time ago. Getting a season pass for liitle more than one day admission is crazy! Certainly a good marketing tool for a limited time but not all freakin year. -
LOL, You just might see it again!

AWW Shoot! I don't have my 3ds anymore! Always had a pair sitting on my desk under monitor. Really, I swear! I use to google the inet for 3d pics

As most know, I never discuss inside biz issues and goings on about the park. I won't be doing that here either. I will say this though...... Oh look! My personal SF aftermath photo album! Here, let me open it for you so you can see. ****************** PSYCH! *********************** HA Ha ha! Well, if you come by my house we can look at it together. Really. Even though I joked and may have said some shock value things after the storm, remember my family and I were also victims and I just prefer to deal with it in a joking manner. I have a dry sence of humor so some may have wondered, who the hell is this guy!. I put a lot of time and sweat into the park in the last two years. This park is part of my life now. This is my own actual personal album of the aftermath in the park. If you could only see. It is so unbelievable to go through the park and see the destruction. Every single thing in the park whether it be a ride, building, sign or a tree was damaged. Just like the now deceased plush toy in the photo, it is even sad to see the poor deceased dippin dots stand. Just like the city, the park is absolutely devastated. Most have only talked about the water damage, but besides the whole park being eight feet under water, there was also the wind and flying debris damage. Actually it is quite sad. Ernie

As much as I like a new coaster every year, I am excited to see this play out and hope it is successful. -
Six Flags New Orleans 2006 !
calcajun replied to calcajun's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So above is the second time in a few days I see that someone says the park was an under performer or it didn't draw many guests. (all the same) It does irk me slightly to hear that because I saw the numbers and figures on paper everyday, and know that the park did not lose money. It made money. Certainly was no magic mountain but it was not a money loser. -

First, Ernie slaps Elissa around a bit, and then says.... Yes, fema says 40% of the pop wants to move back. Where they get their #'s I don't know. Maybe that’s who applied for trailers. Mayor Ray Nagin said yesterday that money and help would be put into less affected areas for re building the city first. That probably means eastern New Orleans will be farther back on the list. Not that that is really negative for SFNO because usually parks would sit on the edges of cities anyway and the city would gradually build out and eventually meet the parks. There seem to be some housing developments that have been sealed up and like 1 or 2 people came back last week to move in or get their stuff. Now another city official said it should be reopened and used for transitional housing. Yeah, Sure. Many of my team members bussed to work from round Elysian Fields or 9th ward anyway. Also keep in mind that a big part of our guest arrived from outside of New Orleans. I think the bigger dependence in the city is for employees. What’s my point? I don't know. Just rambling. I really just needed to slap Elissa round a bit for that HORRIBLE comment. 8) -

Yes, the park could reopen in 07. At this point in time no one knows what will happen except maybe corporate. So much is up in the air that i doubt corporate knows what will happen unless they are already set on nixing the park. Contract or not, you can't make them rebuild and re open if the clientele won't be there to support it. Just like the rest of the city it will be long and hard recovery. They are telling residence to come back and many who are, find no place to stay and thier kids don't have a school to go to. It is just still really messed up in new orleans and will be for a long time. If you want to visit please don't hesitate! The quarter was untouched and you can come out and party as usual then tour the devastated city. -
************************ NOT! ************************** Looks as though March will come and go but the park won't be opening.

OMG! Mark, are you even old enough to say "woody" yet? I tell ya, kids today say the darndest things.

SFNO/Jazzland Discussion Thread
calcajun replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
LOL I am not discussing that! I will say the photo is heavily cropped. -
When I saw this, I knew I had to photograph it and see what kind of captions came out of it. Please be as funny, mean, or gory as you want to be! Don't use Help Me! , Thats the filename. All I got for christmas was this stupid broken leg!

Sorry, I can't post them. I can however show hardcopies to friends and stuff but can't let them go public. At some point in the future when the park reopens, or never opens again, I will most likely display some. -

Yo T ! I wasn't gonna steal SF NOT OPERATING from you. I didn't even use it yet. I just took a whole bunch of photos inside the park yesterday and today. If you all were close by i would show them to you. Everyone talks about the water but some rides were destroyed by wind and flying debris. -
Which is Better… Satellite or Cable?
calcajun replied to PhishyBrewer's topic in Random, Random, Random
Since katrina knocked out cable for a few months, I got direct tv. During heavy downpours it will go out for brief periods (rain fade) and with tv, breif outage is not acceptable. Other than that direct tv is fine but after my one year contract is up, I will return to cable which only went out once in the last two years. I place my vote for cable. In Cali where you get little rain or it is light during winter you may not have the rain fade problem. -
I am not very attracted to Elissa right now! Like my woman to be woman and men to be men.

ONE?!? Dude, you got a little ways to go. Don't rush unless you really have to. Your certainly gonna have to live with your purchase. Don't buy something that needs major work like a new roof unless you have the cash to easily put into it. You will most likely want to spend that money on new furniture and nd stuff. When your realtor gets better, they should be working to get you into as many homes that match your criteria as possible. If not, then you might want to try another realtor. Don't forget to try and have fun while looking. Thats probably how we looked at 300.
-
So how many houses you looked at so far? Keeping track? In 98 me and the now deceased other half looked at 300! We looked from 1 end of San Diego county to the other. Talk about the crazy market, we bought for 280,000.00. after his passing and probate over i sold it for 420,000.00. Worked for me! 8) I do miss it though. here it is

Ride Ops at SFNO working Mardi Gras liked that ride the best. The queue house was next to open field and nice breeze always came through. It was the coolest ride to work in the section.
