  1. Here is the official release: Concept Art Launch Concept Art
  2. Apples to Oranges. I suspect this evacuation has been practiced and is the approved method. Windseeker posed challenges that they should have thought about beforehand and somehow let it slip through the cracks...
  3. I can't cheer for a guy suspended for domestic violence.
  4. Even knott's official release says approximately, so I don't think being off by 20ft is much of an exaggeration... Also, as someone who hates heights, I would most definitely be more terrified being stuck on windseeker vs. inside the sky cabin and you would be stuck with your feet dangling exposed to the elements...so that seems like an accurate description.
  5. I was wondering this as well! Park stayed open. There is an access gate already behind the boardwalk for fire department to drive right in without interrupting the rest of the park.
  6. Looks like i'll have the same reaction to this as I do Potter: visually stunning and really cool, but I have no interest in the IP itself. I hope the storytelling avoids the Potter trap, where you have to know the IP to really get it...
  7. Doubt that mental health advocate group will even notice its existence since it wasn't reviewed in a major city newspaper...
  8. Don't think it comes close to the estimated 85-100K of Tokyo Disneyland. I've heard it's in the 40-50k range.
  9. They were somewhat vague about "new food and beverage options" so perhaps those will be demoed later on once the park enters the off season.
  10. Monday is the federal holiday for New Years. After that, most people are back to work and school...no point in waiting any longer.
  11. Finally got ditto today! Excited for free incubators starting tomorrow too, since I only have one of the gen 2 babies so far. And still need porygon.
  12. Finally another update! USC played at UDub this season, so naturally I had to visit a city I had not been to since I was a kid (Seattle). Long story short: it was a fantastic college atmosphere. Very friendly fans, with only one drunk douchebag behind us who was suspiciously quiet at the end of the game when I waved goodbye.... The exterior of the stadium blends in with all the building around it, with lots of bricks. Also a metro stop right at the stadium! Concourses were typical concourses... ...But the hyped up view was as advertised. The stadium is basically on the shore of Lake Washington, so rich alumni "tailgate" on their boats The stadium features mostly aluminum bench seating (meh), but that combined with the awnings over the top decks really trap in the noise. It was a very loud stadium. We got a C-130 flyover (Joint Base Lewis-McChord has a ton of them based there) Half Time show honoring the USS Arizona The video board was quite nice (the stadium was renovated between 2011-2013). But by that I mean, check out the score!
  13. I take it that is another Soarin style ride system. Wings over Washington was cool, but the film/rendering quality wasn't the best.
  14. I want all of that Tron merch!
  15. Just wanted to echo what Robb and Larry have said. Many people from quickly developing nations like China and Brazil are simply not used to "western" ways (for lack of a better way to describe it). They grew up with a rural lifestyle, then all of a sudden development and money came their way and they are still adjusting to joining the "modern" world. Heck, when we were there in 2008, our guide explained how traveling was a luxury that required permits---so many citizens only know what the world is like from their own bubble.
  16. In case you haven't noticed, Cedar Fair has discounted the KBF passes quite a bit. It's the same clientele. If they want to go away from the bottles, they should get freestyle coke machines added and give 1 cup per day with a chip on it for the refills.
  17. Unfortunately, it is a Cal-OSHA rule. More operators are needed in case of an emergency to evacuate people from restraints. They can have the second train the on the track but loading it would cause too many people to be on the attraction per number of operators to safely evacuate everyone in case of fire of smoke. I would believe that if SFMM didn't operate with as little staff as possible on all their rides that have multiple trains. Not only that, running the train empty is still putting cycles on it---might as well just take it off if staffing is going to be a prolonged issue.
  18. I think you have to go to I-drive to find that premium product...
  19. That sounds like a silly rule only Cedar Fair would think of...
  20. It's almost as if Walt Disney ran the park as if it was a business and sold space in his park whether it made sense or not. Because when I think of Disneyland I totally think of the Dutch Boy Paint Gallery and Monsanto Hall of Chemistry! Also, Dorrito's were invented at Disneyland at a restaurant ran by the Frito company.
  21. local school districts are out for winter break now, so I imagine pretty busy. If it rains, probably not nearly as busy though.
  22. Granted the source is WikiPedia, but as of 2014 they had 350 busses with 50 more on order---I think they can handle the express buses and regular shuttle services....
  23. Sure looks like they want to add a lot of hotels to the properties they own!
  24. I would imagine they will take this opportunity to add enough metal detector checkpoints to make those mandatory vs. being randomly selected.
  25. Their future "transportation hub"...new parking garage, new security checkpoints, etc.
