  1. "Popular" is a word that is hard to define since none of us are members of KBF management. They'd be the ones with the guest survey information or information on how many riders it gets each year. That being said, again, assuming the rumor is true...I can promise you they have enough space for whatever it is they want to replace it with. That is what people get paid a lot of money to figure out for them. Using my amateur google earth skills, shuffling some things around in Camp Snoopy, using the backstage space behind Monte, and strategically placing footers/track on walkways/weaving through Jaguar could easily leave them enough room for a larger compact ride such as an El Loco, Premier Sky Rocket, Maurer Sohne Sky Loop, or S&S Freespin.
  2. Yeah...I'm sure what it amounts to (again, assuming the worst that the rumor is true) is that the cost to maintain the ride isn't worth it if the rides popularity has dwindled (based on whatever metric they use) and they decide they can replace it with something better.
  3. It will be a crapshoot. Historically, Disney tends to do soft openings...but your visit may also coincide with a private preview for cast members, media, etc. too.
  4. Aren't most or all of the other Schwarzkopf launched coaster like this one retired? My guess is that at some point, the launch mechanism wears out and you either custom mill everything new or choose to retire it because it isn't worth the cost. You can put a new train on Revolution or restraints on boomerang to give it a new feel for not much money. I think Monte will eventually need a lot more work than just new trains and might get replaced with a magnetic launched coaster. They should keep the classic station though. Now, I don't know that it is leaving but that is my guess as to why Monte might be one of the next coasters to leave if something is removed. *IF* the rumors of removing monte are true, this would be my guess as to the reason why as well. Lack of support.
  5. I would like to see the NFL change OT to a full abbreviated quarter---do 12 min instead of a full 15 and let it play out. The team who wins the toss still gets a slight advantage, but the other team would deserve to lose if their defense can't get the ball back in 12 minutes....
  6. No question that was THE WORST choke of all time. They had the ball at their 22 yard line up 8 points with 4 minutes left. All they had to do was run three times and eat clock & kick a FG to ice. Good thing Sark is their new OC...
  7. These Chinese companies don't know any better than to just poorly reverse engineer (or just flat out steal if they get contracted by a company to build).
  8. The lead car looks unique. I give them that...
  9. It's not like they would share their plans before they are ready anyways, so this is the least shocking thing. If it's going to happen, the announcement wouldn't come until much closer to September's annual corporate ride announcement...
  10. According to wikipedia, it is named after a bluegrass band that performed at the park.
  11. You can never trust SFMM's operations. We've seen it time and time again where rides will be down for long periods of time with no effort to fix in a timely manner (or it's a major part failure that has to be fabricated).
  12. Perhaps they just haven't put any decorative finishes on the shell yet.
  13. So who does everyone got for Sunday?
  14. VirtualBoy was just bad. The attractions at Disney Quest were definitely groundbreaking for their time---and now serve as a history lesson as to what video game graphics used to look like. I'll miss the bumper cars! The slide was awesome too, though long since removed.
  15. What I think is funny is how ahead of its time it really was given how VR is the big thing now. It was a neat thing to do once or twice in my visits to WDW over the years, but it's so dated now...I don't even think they bothered to add/change anything since Cyber Space Mountain?
  16. Is the tour something I should hit the first showing of? If you purchase your ticket from their website, you can enter the park 1hr early to experience Potter.
  17. http://la.eater.com/2017/1/26/14399360/disneyland-21-royal-private-dinner Love this idea...make money wherever they can. I'm surprised they didn't put the "dream suite" up for sale too.
  18. Disney Springs has gone from ghost town to legitimate place to hang out now. The amount of good bars and restaurants is great---and it looks much better too.
  19. Let's just be happy SFMM is taking care of their rides...
  20. Disney also operated a version of Chuck-E-Cheese/Discovery Zone called Club Disney for a short period of time. My understanding is that the space that is now ESPN Zone at DtD in California was slated to be a Disney Quest, but after the Chicago version didn't do as well as expected, that idea was scrapped.
  21. Good luck! The bring a friend days are typically insanely busy.
  22. I've been at Disneyland on days where it took 45 minutes to walk down main street (sell out crowd+firework waiting+narrow walkways=BAD combination). Not sure what the big deal about this is. If someone spent the whole day in the park, when the sun went down (along with the temps...), it cleared out quite well by 7PM. Rides were practically walkups in that final hour they added on to the park hours.
  23. While in rare circumstances stuff happens after the fact, large development projects (including theme park rides) usually involve a lot of "back channel" work before being presented to the public. I would guess Sea World has been working with all the agencies to have everything ready for full approval prior to the actual hearings.
