  1. ^I hope you put more effort into the final draft. Just using the spell check feature on TPR alone, it corrected 7 different things when I edited your most recent post. Make sure you proof read your posts and your papers before writing them. Everyone here is willing to help with your paper, but we definitely are not here to do it all for you and correct everything.
  2. Going back to what Rich said in the other thread about the SFA incident: "there are three sides to every story: the accuser, the accused, and the truth."
  3. ^^$60 park admission gets you the entire year. So $50 for the campout is not a great deal for everyone. Especially for someone who has already payed $60 (or $125) for their pass. ^They will either reimburse you or let you in with the print out. Probably depends on the employee, but one way or the other, you will not be paying for parking on your first visit.
  4. I believe Mr Potato Head is operator controlled. They have a bunch of preprogrammed phrases that they mix and match. How long were you in the first preshow @ Simpsons? I discovered today that all booths actually have 3 or 4 different things they say.
  5. I don't know how many times I can say this, but there is no rule governing restraints other than "they have to work." Well, technically there are specifications they have to meet, but simplifying the fine print translates into "they have to work." If SFMM were to change the restraints, the only requirements under the law would be that the state inspects it and that everyone signs off on it (SOP's ammended, engineers approve it, etc.) It's California Assembly Bill 850 and ASTM standard F24 if you want to look it up.
  6. Anyone know if any of the proceeds are going to a charity? The other park hosted event (SFGADv) is giving a portion of the proceeds to the Boys and Girls Club. Is SFMM doing the same?
  7. ^^That explains why all the rides were down today...never too early to start over reacting to the weather!
  8. The basically says "be sure you cross your T's and dot your I's." In other words...as long as everyone signs off on any ride modification, it's OK. Nothing is written about OTSR's.
  9. I'm sure it will end up being just like the Mummy rides...a crap load of downtime the first year while everyone is learning, then smooth sailing after that season.
  10. It has already been made clear that Revolution cannot remove its OTSR's. If you can't get rid of them, then you've got to work WITH them, which means improving them, sleeker, more comfortable restraints. I know it's possible, it's just a matter of time, money, and necessity. I still don't buy that ATSM excuse. If they ATSM standards really did say that all looping coasters had to have OTSR's, how is it all the Premier rides are able to go without them? Six Flags even replaced OTSR's with lapbars on both Mr Freeze rides... Makes you wonder...Although, BS or not, the park has a lot of other more important issues to address before rehabbing Revolution. Bathrooms, roofs, back of the house areas, and general building rehabs should all have a higher priority. Thankfully they are addressing those first.
  11. Did you hear SFMM's getting a new monorail? I read it here on TPR!
  12. I REALLY like what I have seen so far from the park under the "new management," and I would REALLY like to attend this event (the last campout was tons of fun!), but $50 is just too steep a price for what is being offered. If more is added to the event like nigh ERT on other coasters, Q&A's, dinner, etc. I would be much more inclined to attend. As it is right now, I just can't justify the cost when I already have a pass that gets me free parking and flashpasses. But for those of you who haven't been to SFMM in awhile and don't have a pass...this sounds like a great excuse to go back!
  13. The real MVP??? Sure you can make a good case CP3 could have been MVP, but his case is no better or worse than Kobe's. Neither team would be anywhere close to where they are now without their respective stars, both have great numbers, and both can take over a game and dominate.
  14. Assuming Jim Hill didn't make these quotes up...Disney brings this upon themselves. They created the monster by selling AP's/selling a bunch of collectible crap/hosting merch events/creating DVC/etc. I would guess at least 1 million turnstile clicks per year per, per park, come from people who are either Disney freaks and/or DVC members. So while many of their complaints are nitpicking ("omg...there's a small paint chip missing!!!"), it's probably not a good idea to blow them off either. And like others have mentioned...if there really is a problem with the sound, that's far from a minor nitpick. If you can hear previous/future scenes to the point where it's a distraction, I can see why people think that takes away from the experience.
  15. ^I can tell you from experience that there is usually two sides to every story. We're only getting his brothers side of the story. Not that it makes what the gaurd allegedly did right by any means (you should NEVER cuss at a guest, even if they did something to provoke), but it would be interesting to hear what SF/the gaurd had to say. The vague statement "my brother lost his temper" makes me wonder just a little bit. Don't get me wrong...this story could very well be true and should be dealt with by SF accordingly. I just wonder if there is more to the story.
  16. ^^It is important to note that #1 is: Has your brother followed up at all? It's unfair to assume that NOTHING is being done just because he hasn't heard back from them. Nothing is as simple as "we got a complaint from a guest. You're fired!"
  17. FWIW, heart conditions and recent surgeries are common warnings (which means parks recommend you don't ride) on almost every coaster. I would say stick to those warnings unless your doctor specifically says otherwise.
  18. ^I think the point Eric was trying to make is that the shelves imply that the lockers are not needed at all. So someone with an item that HAS to go in the lockers will think they can still put it off to the side, which in turn causes more delays as the operators will have to take time to talk to that person. Your example of a sweater is exactly why Eric thinks they should remove the shelves.
  19. Guests are dumb. Part of well operated theme/amusement park is making sure your employees have all the tools/training to properly deal with them. Hopefully SFMM will get there starting with X2... No need for excuses...guests aren't any smarter at the parks with good operations...
  20. Safe operation AND speedy dispatch times agree with each other if the ride operators are doing a good job. Disneyland is able to do it on all their other coasters, Universal can do it, Cedar Point did it on Raptor, we used to kick ass at RRv (circa 2002)... Also, 3 trains doesn't necessarily move the line faster. Stacking with 3 CAN decrease throughput. Time waiting=lost dispatch time.
  21. I noticed Cedar Point had DJ booths in all their queues. I think if done right, it could be a nice addition to the park. Believe it or not, people actually want to be entertained in line. While we might be against it, I am sure there are plenty of guests who would enjoy hearing some of their favorite songs while waiting. Distracting people in line makes them forget how long the wait really is. Anything to add to the queue experience is a GOOD thing for the park.
  22. Welcome to the site. Please make sure you read the posting rules, which can be found HERE. In particular, pay attention to #1: Make sure you use more descriptive title and that the post could fit better elsewhere. This will make it easier for everyone to read your posts, and it will also make it so you can get more responses to your threads. Enjoy the site!
  23. Someone posted a trip report on westcoaster saying that they reserved one side of the Tatsu station for flashpass only...
