I love that they are planning night time experiences for the park! Closing so early compared to the other parks always made the park seem crowded.

The outcry over the name is kind of ridiculous at this point. I don't even think most people would know Redskins is a derogatory term if not for the constant complaining over the name.

It made the national news, so it's not surprising the local news would put it on as one of their national stories on a slow news day.

I am going to guess that if they are broken, SFMM probably won't waste the money in trying to repair them. I think the park said in their Q&A at WCB 2012 that they actually have someone on staff full-time who works on X2's speakers. It's just an always-losing battle, but at least there are stretches of time where the sound does work. It's better than nothing. They've always had audio/video technicians on the staff. I'm sure in typical SFMM fashion, they added to their workload without hiring additional staff or giving much of a budget to keep parts in stock.

They have that door to get into guest services from the outside, which I believe opens 1/2 hour-1 hour before the park.

The aquarium claims attendance of 1.5 million guests per year and it is right next door to the proposed location, so I suppose there is some potential for the area

Personally, the new version of Star Tours did nothing for me. The 3D wasn't anything amazing, and unless you are a Star Wars/Disney geek, you wouldn't even know there is so many possibilities. I'll be disappointed if this turns out to be another Star Tours 2.0, especially given all the unique things HKDL has gotten recently.

And yet, California still leads the nation in the amount of coasters. None of those restrictions you mentioned are really unreasonable. Noise complaints when you chose to live next to a theme park is one thing, but height limits around airports and/or to not completely destroy the skyline of a neighborhood are standard issues throughout the country. Same with water table issues.

Pretty impressive to deal with the logistics of building it inside the dome and planning on having it open in December! I don't know if I am excited, or disappointed because it means having to step foot in Circus Circus.

Just from that picture and that description, to me it sounds like the LIM may have fired or done something it wasn't supposed to, which caused the ride to e-stop and cause damage to the train.

I don't doubt something big is in the works for the 60th anniversary, but this seems a little over the top.

Disney already has the great app; USH has USHwaittimes.com too. I think most parks will be gravitating towards their own apps in the next few years.

I just saw the Camry commercial. I agree that it would be better than anything else at SFMM if it were real!
