^They won't ever let him vote for the HOF again, so he did get the Pete Rose treatment.

I miss all the Intamin Ag 1st Gen Free Falls!
Jew replied to VMan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
At SFMM, Freefall had different braking profiles depending on the weather to ensure it didn't over travel or undershoot the return area. Every morning it would still be in the cold weather profile (since it was actually cold when they did their morning cycles) and would go down every time a certain car cycled until they adjusted the profile. Loved it. I won't talk about all the other ways we knew how to break the ride... -
^Kiffin has always been a good X's and O's guy…but the hurry up offense is definitely not his speciality.

The Hall of Fame vote is such a joke now. Keith Olbermann rightfully ripped them a new one for voting in the managers whose success can at least be partially attributed to players accused of (or admitted to) using steroids, yet they won't vote for those players themselves... What's Tony LaRussa's career look like without Canseco and McGwire? Torre without Clemens, Pettite, Giambi, and A-rod? Even Bobby Cox had David Justice and Garry Sheffield to help him.

Looks like the last major coaching domino has fallen with James Franklin to Penn State.

IMO, it's not even CLOSE to the best park in the Six Flags chain that I've visited. SFoT, SFTT, SFoG, SFGAm, SFGADv, and SFDK were all much better IMO. Aside from the fact the rides are all average at best besides YOLOCoaster, the lack of upkeep and care from line employees is obvious throughout the park. When is the last time any of their rides even ran with a full fleet of trains?

Well, to be fair, the concept of little squirt sounds pretty dumb, so I am not entirely sure I blame the non-creative people for making changes. Too bad they turned out to be bad ones! Olaf hosting works perfect for winter, so I really hope they can do 4 custom suers (one for each season) that can be hosted by a different Disney/Pixar character.

I had the same feelings when I saw it this last Friday. I wanted to do the Cathay Circle dinner but it was sold out. How were the menu options for the WOC package? They give you a set menu of 3 courses. Soup or Salad (Soup was awesome---don't remember what it was), 7 or 8 entree options (I remember a chicken, pork chop, steak, halibut, and few others), then two desert options to choose from (apple something or other that was awesome and something chocolate that my friend said was awesome). Definitely did not feel ripped off. Quality was great.

Well, Louisville was part of the weakest of the automatic qualifying conferences. Texas is a different beast. Not only because the level of competition in the BIG-XII is higher and the recruiting battles more fierce, but because interactions with boosters are much bigger part of life as well. Strong better be on the phone with Red McCombs trying to kiss his ass if he wants to ensure long term success, since Texas needs to keep his (and other big boosters) money coming in to keep the program a top flight program.

I finally saw the winter version of World of Color using the Cathay dinner package option… I liked it a lot more than the regular version since they actually tried to tie all the clips together with a host, instead of just making it movie trailer after movie trailer. I would much prefer that they keep the season theme, and just have "hosts" tying all the clips together for a custom show every season rather than going back to the normal version! The lighting was impressive too. As was the steak at Cathay Circle.

The TV contract for this playoff format runs until 2025, so now we are stuck with this format for the next 12 years. Hopefully after it can grow to 8 teams (a real playoff!).

What should be the next Six Flags clone?
Jew replied to Woodie Warrior's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Balder clone! More compact, and still Intamin awesome! -
Double post, but…is it time for signing day yet? Crazy 4th quarter to end the SEC's run of titles. I can't help but fee bad for Auburn fans, since I know all too well how it feels to be there when the team you root for loses a BCS title game in the Rose Bowl in the 4th quarter...

I don't think the Cox Pavilion can handle an ice rink.

^If the building was otherwise going to be empty, there's no reason they wouldn't want the revenue. College and pro teams sharing arenas and stadiums isn't uncommon. The Arizona Cardinals played for 30 years in ASU's stadium, St Johns. plays some games in Madison Square Garden, Villanova uses the Wells Fargo arena in Philly, Memphis shares its arena with the college team, and so on. There's also the South Point arena that is primarily used for equestrian events right now.
