Single rider at Radiator Springs will still be 30-1hr if it is full, so do that early on if unable to get a fastpass. -

^Well, besides the Steakhouse---they're the only other reason to visit Circus Circus. -

Well, if they bought when it dropped to $27/share last week, then I would imagine so! It's up to $33.25/share now, so whatever impact Blackfish may have had certainly wore off quick with Wall Street... -
The living off campus one is probably the harshest one. Most college football players who live off campus do so in order to pocket the housing stipend (either their parents pay or they find a cheap place and pocket the difference).

Probably just the contractor collecting their equipment...

I don't understand how they can claim market share when they are so far behind Disney? Simple. He's acknowledging Disney is kicking their butt, but thinks the aggressive expansion will help increase their market share. As has been discussed a bunch on this forum, all the other parks in Orlando realize Disney is the top dog. The goal is to make those Disney guests shave off a day or two from their Disney vacation to spend it at Universal.

If you can afford it, I think the VIP tour is worth it. Nice continental breakfast when you arrive, an amazing gourmet lunch buffet, plus the WAY more in depth backlot tour. You get to walk through a soundstage for Parenthood, the prop warehouse, and as many of the backlot sets that are not occupied for filming. Last time I had the chance to do it, we got to walk out on the European streets and get a 1-1 photo op with Norman Bates at the Bates Motel.

Many of the people commenting are ones (like myself) who grew up with the park under the Knott family ownership. When it had charm and a personality all its own. Cedar Fair spent the last 10 years gradually removing all that charm/history with coasters that are not all that great. Xcelerator is the only exception to this IMO, as it was themed to the 50's (in the 50's boardwalk area) and a great ride. I personally appreciate that they are making their efforts to restore as much of the charm of the park as they can, as it adds so much more to the park than a coaster ever could. That doesn't mean we wouldn't welcome an Intamin Hyper (or some other kickass ride), but I would hope that their next major coaster addition is similar to Xcelerator or GhostRider, where it is themed to the area AND a kickass ride to keep the charm alive. Cedar Fair's stock is up to record levels, as is their revenue, so the company must be doing something right.

Universal actually re-purposed one of their sound stages as a strictly green screen stage: http://news.doddleme.com/blogs/post-production/universal-virtual-stage-1-the-future-of-filmmaking/ In other news... A pretty sizable crane is now being built on the Harry Potter site... A sign has been added to "Miss Hattie's Home for Girls". And the Despicable Me construction Walls have been pushed out even further. Gru's car is now parked out in front of his house! Love all the detail!

^The contest ending the 22nd at least gives some hope they have a timeline to hit or at least be close to the "late January" date they are advertising. I never expect new rides to open on time. -

I would imagine the first riders will be part of the media day. So perhaps the January 22nd deadline is a hint as to when the ride will be opening? The wording in the contest is standard for any contest. You would sign a waiver or whatever else they required during the event. -
Hiring Lane Kiffin is definitely not going to help him with any of that. Lane Kiffin is very much a pro-set offense guy. What he brings to Alabama is better utilizing talent within those sets to get favorable matchups. While he was the OC at USC, he was able to use Tight Ends, Running Backs, and Fullbacks to create mismatches. But no-huddle/hurry up stuff was never a staple of any offense he was associated with.

I'll believe it when I see it. It's been pushed back so long already, I'm hesitant to believe there won't be more delays. Even their job posting doesn't have a solid opening date.

Again, USH is a studio first, theme park second. The expansion of Harry Potter is happening on land that was once used as a non-studio space (the Gibson theatre). They won't move into their open space because they use all of the available room for filming. Yeah, they have the land but they chose to dedicate it to the more lucrative business. Filming multiple movies from multiple studios (they rent to Disney, Warner, Paramount, Fox, etc) is MUCH more profitable than building a new ride or two. The theme park business is the second most profitable division of the company (behind the cable division), and Comcast has made it very clear they intend to keep investing in the parks, so I would never say never...

He can be credentialed through ESPN now, so he essentially just got himself lots of good press while making the Hall look bad.

See---more reason to go in January AND March!

^Agreed. Kiffin's specialty is "pro set" stuff, and aside from a few terrible tendencies (bubble screens and obvious off tackle runs when certain players are subbed in/out), his play calling is pretty good. Didn't use the tight ends a lot his last few years at USC, but I think that was more because he wanted the ball forced to his star receivers instead.
