  1. Things NFL owners have a lot of: Money and greed. I have no doubt the NFL/new owner will hold the city of Buffalo hostage to get even more renovations or a new stadium at the cities expense or be gone in that reported 2019 opt-out date.
  2. That is all required maintenance, so I hope that's what they are doing...
  3. When I rode it last weekend, I didn't think it was anything special. It had it's usual pop of air on the first drop (since that section is I-beam track) and a few tiny pops of air on the other hills...nothing special.
  4. Is there anything at Fisherman's Wharf that isn't a tourist trap?
  5. Toronto Bills here we come...
  6. It actually terrified me as a kid. Being that it was Michael Jackson, that might have been a good thing!
  7. Does it count as a relocation if it's essentially a new ride this time around, possibly with some recycled parts to save money?
  8. ^That could make for a very fun, cheesy attraction.
  9. ^Weekdays are still good. Spring bring isn't in full swing until early April.
  10. The scare actor in the station is brilliant!
  11. Projects are planned years in advance. If/when it happens, I have no doubt it has been in the works for the last 2-3 years. Which is the perfect excuse to justify keeping one side down to re-allocate that budget elsewhere.
  12. That would depend on what is built…a show building is certainly going to require a lot more engineering than Autopia did to fit on top of the Nemo show building.
  13. ^^If they aren't doing any maintenance on it, they would have to do ALL the required (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, yearly, etc.) maintenance before it could operate again. I think that's a good clue that an RMC makeover is in the works if they aren't bothering to work on one side at all...
  14. John Murdy already said on twitter there will not be an HHN maze in the queue. The grill cheese with pulled pork is delicious. As are the waffles. The chicken is an entire half chicken, so you can probably feed two people with that plate!
  15. ^Calling it a media day is a stretch. The park was nice enough to invite media outlets to get rider cam and some footage, but that was about it. It was definitely not on the scale of a full media event, but was still very nice of the park to do.
  16. This is eerily similar to the last time the subs closed for an extended period of time. Wasn't there even signs for the Atlantis re-do?
  17. It's movie-based. The main room is filled with simulator pods. It's basically a version of The Simpsons Ride that's tamer and directed towards more younger guests. (though ironically it has the same exact height restriction as not only Simpsons, but Transformers as well) Did USF retain the stationary, height-friendly seats from Hannah-Barbera and Neutron? If so, why weren't they installed here? It has the same height requirement because it is still the same ride system. Also, there is no stationary seating because it is very obvious when you ride that there is not enough space in the theaters for them. The benches would be so close to the screen the show would be terrible. Personally, I'd rather have double the capacity than stationary seating---especially with Super Silly Fun Land right next door for small children.
  18. ^Yup. They did a great job bringing Gru's living room to life. When you watch the movie, you'll recognize everything in the living room!
  19. ^As of now, there is no single rider line. Elissa will be very disappointed to know you forgot the cheese!
  20. You got me there... Seriously though, animatronics done right are still very impressive. I should have expanded upon my original examples of lava monster and the Yeti to include smaller ones that are also very impressive. However, I still think that projection mapping/lighting done right is equally as impressive as an animatronic. I was thinking of rides like Transformers, Spiderman, and even the new Thunder Mountain finale as examples that come to mind of how projection/lighting can be just as impressive when mixed with physical sets. What I was really getting at is that it takes a lot more for an animatronic to "wow" now because of how far technology has advanced. The best example that comes to mind for me is the Log Ride at KBF: you can't say anything bad about the re-do, it's well done and fun, but you're not going "OMFG wow!" either.
  21. With all the advances in projection/lighting technology, AA's are really a thing of the past. Unless you do them on the scale of Lava Monster (or the Yeti when it was working), they're not that impressive compared to what can be done with projections now when mixed with impressive physical sets.
  22. Especially when you ride with the harness up XLR8's trains were scrapped for parts. As were two of Ninja's 4 original trains.
  23. I'd be happy with a Pirates on the same level as Paris version. Definitely the best of them IMO.
  24. ^ Seriously though, to an extent, Universal already does this---Gate A (USH) and Express (UO) go down in price as it gets later in the day. KBF still offers an after 4pm discounted admission as well. Almost every park offers a discount for tickets purchased in advanced online vs. the at the gate price.
  25. It's only a matter of time before Ninja and Jet Stream are torn out for some gimmick coaster to add to the Xtreme marketing campaign...
