  1. Nice report. Oktoberfest was one of the best times of my life. Great coasters+Great people+Great beer!
  2. The last time I was in Myrtle Beach, I had more fun buying fireworks and shooting them off on the beach than I did being a credit whore.
  3. I'll be checking this out on my only Wednesday free all month!
  4. Well, it is pretty easy to hate the Giants!
  5. I don't care if the ride op's ride. But when they do it just to make sure Green Lantern doesn't spin anymore that's where theres a issue. I know SFMM ordered the ride op's to counter-balence the cars so it doesn't spin about 20 seconds after it opened or so. But I still think it's bullshit to operate a ZacSpin so that it doesn't well, spin. It might be a decent pelvic bone buster, but I don't think thats worth the wait. Heaven forbid the ride operators actually do their job. As a matter of fact, I respect the fact they had a ride operator ride instead making you wait for another guest. You don't read about SFMM ride operators actually trying to provide good serve that often!
  6. It doesn't specify what they supplied. Wasn't part of the deal that Disney use some local contractors? Perhaps they are supplying or fabricating something else. I highly doubt Disney would put a ride in the hands of a no-name knock off Chinese manufacturer.
  7. This isn't limited to California. America is uptight as a whole. Except when it comes to guns and violence.
  8. So much of the charm of the park is gone already, I am just happy they are trying to preserve what's left. That being said, since so much of it is gone already...Bring on the kick ass coaster!
  9. I'm glad Hollywood Blvd will go back to looking like Hollywood Blvd... Now all they need is tacky street performers and hobo's for the authentic Hollywood Blvd. experience!
  10. This Halloween event is going to burn through every last one of my itunes gift cards...now Jason is the purchasable character!
  11. I think it really comes down to a cost vs. benefit. For the costs of having operators at the top and bottom, parks can get more staffing bang for their buck elsewhere. I think they fit in perfectly at small to mid size parks, but don't offer much benefit to larger parks.
  12. ^Well, the parking prices are pretty high...get a workout and save some cash...until the owner of the lot you parked in has your car towed (which does happen at the hotel and sometimes the restaurants from what I hear).
  13. Uber or Lyft will be cheaper than renting a car after taxes, fees, and gas. The trip is about $60.
  14. Based on your opinion? It doesn't fit the character of the park to have coasters stacked upon coasters. Cedar fair is in the thrill business, and I get that, but it seems like the move toward more and more coasters is making the park lose some of it's old charm. Also, squeezing in a 1,500 ft long wooden twister coaster isn't really the same thing as fitting in a B&M hyper. The "character of the park" has evolved quite a bit over the years...Silver Bullet already snakes through the park and is symbolic IMO of the "new" KBF: a mix of old a new...so why not something else that continues that trend?
  15. ^They aren't hiding the fact that is what you are getting into. Since guests know the nature of the attraction, they are assuming risk by agreeing to try it out. Someone could still sue, but the likelihood of winning or collecting a huge payday would be slim.
  16. The shin pads are the primary thing keeping you restrained on premier rides. If that was down where it was supposed to be, you were fine.
  17. I would disagree with that part. Thanks to final destination and all those fake videos floating around the internet, I am sure many guests actually do believe their restraints can fail, so the seat belt is an extra psychological thing to make the guests feel safer.
  18. That is correct. USH and UO have the Infinitec systems, while Singapore has the normal polarized 3D. I love the icon and opening show...looks like an awesome event!
  19. Just... why? I would imagine they wanted it to ensure they could do the best (worst) possible job in ripping it off.
  20. ^One man: Barry Bonds. Though anyone from L.A. has always hated the Giants! It certainly wasn't about the Bay tonight.
  21. The 7 mazes, 5 rides, and Terror Tram was actually MORE than they offered last year. Also, Shrek has never been part of the event since it's queue space has always been a maze (which has since been swallowed by construction). I'm also not really sure what it would add to the event, since I doubt people would be flocking to a dated 3D show. Shrek isn't even open in Orlando and those maze lines are miserable too. Take advantage of First Stab if you are an annual pass holder, or early entry if you are not. You can finish the lower lot MUCH quicker that way.
  22. ^The park should care about capacity. More time in line=less time spending money.
  23. A replacement for their 3D theater shows???
  24. The only chain I am loyal to is MGM resorts in Vegas. Other than that, I mostly just go on price...to me a Hilton, Marriot, Hyatt, etc. are all close to the same in quality.
