  1. I am loving this thread! The posts with pictures are especially interesting. I've always been fascinated by hidden things and defunct parks and stuff.
  2. I can't tell you why Windows is so retarded, I can only confirm that since getting my iMac a few weeks before Christmas, my "awesome" Windows based notebook has also been gathering dust in the corner! Just like you, I never believed it would happen, but here I am. The only reason I turn the laptop on is to work on a project I started on it, or to upload a file to the Internet while I continue working with the Mac. So, as frustrating as it is, in the words of MJ, "You are not alooooone...." Do you pray for the day you have finished all the projects you started on your PC and can finally retire the thing? I know I do!
  3. Thanks for those great memories! It was so hot that day! And, Germany won their World Cup game, I remember that too, (that's why I was wearing the flowery necklace thing). Oh, and I totally disagree with your comment saying that the water ride in the new area of the park is "a bit lame". It is ABSOLUTELY 100% lame! We took the long trek over after lunch at like 13:00, in the burning sun, and then discovered there was absolutely no way to get wet on the ride. What kind of water battle type ride is that???? LAAAAAAME! However, I do agree that the rapids ride is amazing. PS, Just to remind you, although I live in Germany, I AM American and I am nice.
  4. I agree. The comment about launching off the ramp took me so by suprise. Good job! Very funny and great photos. Thanks to Jen, too.
  5. It really only pops up on the day it happens. For example, if I look at that same video now, it will tell me "there are no honors for this video", meaning "no current honors." But how I get those is I click the little arrow next to the number of views that a video has. It expands and gives you more details. --Robb Cool, thanks, and congrats again. By the way, I also enjoy the TPR signature reverse POV shots. I'm also waiting to see some signature TPR member MONEY SHOTS. When do we start that Youtube channel?
  6. Holy crap! We actually made it to #2!!! Wow, Togo GOODNESS, and by that meaning actually good and not sh-tty! I had also didn't know they ever made a "forwards only" Ultra Twister. If I were to build one in my backyard, it would have to be this design because I hate going backwards. Heartline rolls and a sudden stop in the backwards motion is enough to ruin the entire day for me. Anyways, cool video and congrats on your place in the charts! Hey Robb, how did you get those statistics about which country your videos are most popular in, etc.? I've been checking all thru the "insight" on my channel and can't figure it out.
  7. Did anyone hear about the recent "wave" of illness to "wash over" the Radiance of the Seas? ararararrrrrrrr.... After 150 people reported flu-like symptoms, the ship turned around and went back to port. This happens more often than most people think, right? I feel like I read about these kind of things 3 or 4 times a year. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/01/08/AR2011010802907.html
  8. I totally forgot about this ride. Thanks for posting those pics and bringing this up. I always enjoy seeing threads about rare, random coasters. Isn't it cool to look at the pictures of the ride in the shopping mall, then out in the park in a TOTALLY different environment? It kind of reminds me of the before and after of BMRX and Knightmare.
  9. Thanks for the update. I remember your situation. Imagine working in customer service for Carnival over the last few months. Rough job!
  10. Thanks for your help, guys. I'm typing this on my iMac right now! Next question: how long is it going to take me to learn Final Cut??? (That is not a serious question, but I do know a few hours tonight is def not enough). And, is there an easy way to edit footage from my Canon 550D without having to convert it all first with some other program? I've read some info in other forums, but thought I'd ask ya'll, too.
  11. I realise this is the Windows 7 thread, but I couldn't find an iMac thread, so I thought I'd start by asking here since a lot of the discussion has been a comparison to Mac anyways. I am this (holds hands a few millemeters apart) close to making the switch and investing in an iMac, but wanted to get an answer from someone who may have experience doing the same things with their computer that I like to do. So, here goes: Is an iMac with with an Intel core i3 processor 3,06 ghz / 4mb cache Ati Radeon 4670,256 HD grafic card 4096 mb ram really going to be enough for editing HD video? The price of that machine is as much as I can afford at the moment. Or, I could stick with a Windows machine and get way more power for the same price, save a ton of money on replacing software, but still have all the annoying problems I already have and not get anymore work done. I realise, the decision kind of makes itself, but I thought I'd ask anyways.
  12. I agree that it would be really hard to ignore the ocean while on a ship. Even if you stay inside the whole time, you still feel it, and when you get into port, you are going to exit thru the side of the ship and see the water surrounding it. Perhaps this is a good time to face your fears and see what happens when you put yourself to the test. You will be distracted by so many awesome things onboard, maybe you'll suprise yourself? Otherwise, if I were you, I would just stay at home! I don't mean that in a mean way, I just think that taking the Amtrak from Orlando to Tampa, then somehow finding your way to BGT, then taking the train all the way back to Indiana, (most likely with several annoying transfers), sounds so stressful and not fun at all, even if it means going to BGT for a few days! Let us know what you decide to do.
  13. The "then and now" pics are a really good comparison. The profile of the old first drop looks so lame compared to now!
  14. LOL! I get it. "He climbin on your coaster, he snappin those pictures up..."
  15. I agree, this is totally awesome. I realised I haven't seen many waterslide POVs, but nowadays with waterproof HD flipcams and whatnot, I bet there will be more and more popping up. You are a pioneer! I have only ridden 1 Master Blaster style slide, and that was at the Therme Erding in Munich. It had uphill blasting parts, but also a lot of downhill sliding parts, including a fun *twisty* ending. The Master Blaster slides that you showed don't seem to have a lot of "sliding" parts, just mostly "blasting" parts. Is it still fun?
  16. It's been a long time since I've looked at pictures of a ride and thought "Wow, I might actually be kind of scared to ride that." This is one of those rides. Holy crap. There are so many NFW moments in those pictures, I'm still waiting for the bomb to drop and SFOT to let us all in on the joke that this isn't real, just a big PR scam. It just looks so.... wrong! Thanks to everyone who posted pics!
  17. This is such a good idea! I discovered it too late, though
  18. I will be going to the harbor this afternoon to take some video and still shots, and this will be the first place I post them! If you can't wait until then, you can see a small sliver of the ship on this webcam: http://www.deutschland-webcam.de/webcams/details-411.html Lots more coming soon!
  19. What is it about that Wacky Worm coaster that makes it so great, because you are totally right, it looks so basic and small! Isn't it wierd how sometimes the way a ride looks can be so deceiving. Just by looking at it, I bet most people would pass it right up.
  20. OH DAMN! I just got word from the harbor that the Disney Dream is drifting in tonight at 4AM! Aaahahahhhhhhhhh. Why so early! Not sure if it's really worth getting up at 3:30 in the middle of the night just to see it arrive, as it will be in the dry dock in the morning. I really want to see it actually "moving" though. What would you do?
  21. Hi Jojo! You know, as far as booking a cruise goes, (or a flight or a vacation package for that matter), I always tend to go the same route: I start by looking at Expedia or Southwest Vacations, (lots of cruise info there), until I narrow down what it is I want to do, and when. Then, I take the best few offers and compare them to the official websites of the places I want to go. I started looking for our cruise on Southwest and ended up clicking on a pop-up for the new "Way More Than A Cruise" site, which has some amazing deals on combo packages of cruise and Universal Orlando. Going to Universal wasn't originally part of the plan, but because it was so economical to add it on, we did it. Anyways, long story short- check the discount site of your choice, and when you have it narrowed down, always compare the offers to the official site.
  22. Thanks, man! I really enjoy making these videos and, to tell you the truth, got inspired to start creating "vacation videos" by discovering TPR way back when. I owe it all to Robb and Elissa... Anyways, I like to do it because it makes the vacation last longer, and I love to help people have a good time on their trips. I've made guide videos to all the Disney parks in FL, (a few years older already), and will soon be posting my latest vids of Universal and IOA, as well as the big indoor waterparks in Wisconsin Dells. Back to the topic of cruises. I realised that I missed showing the main bars onboard the Monarch of the Seas; The Circuit, the Schooner Bar, and the Viking Crown Lounge. Each of them had their individual atmosphere, with The Circuit being more dance clubby, the Schooner being more piano lounge-y, and the Viking Crown being more fancy schmancy.
  23. Hey everyone. I finished the final part of my cruise video series. This time it's all about the ship, (Monarch of the Seas). In other news, I called the "workshop" in the harbor today and they confirmed that the Disney Dream would be arriving for inspections on Monday. The woman I talked to was not very friendly, though, and could (would) not tell me the exact time of the arrival. I will keep checking the webcams all morning though because I want to get over there and get some good pictures before they put it in the drydock.
  24. You know, after reading this, I am suprised that Colorado; with all it's mountains and ski resorts, only has TWO alpine coasters! What's up with that? Anyone know what the count is like in other mountainous States?
