Wow, I think you're right. I tweeked my dates a little bit and the days that are actually blocked are the 3-6th, (which is wierd because the golf tourni goes until the 9th). Anyways, we can't change our dates, so I have to make a decision. Does anyone who works at a WDW resort (or not) confirm that some rooms might become available if we wait? I'm just worried that everything is going to be booked out and we're going to have to stay at the Pop Century or something if I wait too much longer. What if I book the Coronado Springs, (where we stayed last time and loved it), for the week, keep checking the other hotels, and then if/when the Wilderness Lodge has some more availability, upgrade my reservation. Is that possible?
-
Does anyone have any inside knowledge? We're trying to book our next WDW vacation and have decided to splurge and stay at one of the above resorts, however, they seem to all be booked out for the dates of November 3-11th. Can that REALLY be true, or is it just some sort of blockage in order to get people to book rooms at other, less popular resorts for that time? I've been trying for days now and have even called the reservation hotline, (as opposed to doing it online), and they are all listed as unavailable for that time. What's really going on here?

Robb, I totally know what you mean. I had the same kind of experience on Balder this weekend. Everyone raves about it, and I was just waiting for it to blow my mind in some unbeleivable redonkulous way. It didn't happen, though! Of course, it's a blast, but because I was expecting soOOo much, there was no way it was going to meet my expectations. You probably think I'm crazy now because I know how much you love Balder. I have to say I think Tonnere de Zeuss is WAY more fun than Balder. Anyways, back on topic. I'm also a big Riverquest fan, and was probably one of the people who told you that it does things no raft ride has ever done before. Oops, I mean water ride. I never thought of it so specifically, but I guess you're right. It's like an overgrown flume with round boats when you boil it all down. Anyways. It's still one of my favorite thrilling water rides, right up there with Splash Mountain. -

That's nice You know what's funny? I actually ended up getting most of the time off as a last minute vacation for a week I had to cancel earlier in the month, so technically, I could have hitch-hiked around with you guys for a week again. But, call me a softy, I decided to go home and spend time with my family and brand new niece instead. By the way, (and you know that I am especially not one to complain about lack of this or that in trip udpates.... teetle), but was the bobsled coaster at Heide Park down, or why doesn't anyone talk about it? I've always thought it's a lot of fun and seems endless. Anyhoo, greetings on all the panthers I saw in the pics, and I hope you had a blast here on my side of the pond! -

Fliegende Hollander> They must have made some major changes to it, because it blew me away when we were there last summer! The indoor part had all this scary fog and projections on waterfalls and stuff. It was very unexpected and creepy. We were floored by the themeing and the creepiness. The Toilet Ledge> Also know as a "show and tell toilet". I know, it's absolutely disgusting and I can't beleive anyone thought this was a good idea. I had one in my apartment in Duesseldorf, and the only... really the ONLY time I was ever thankful for it is when I was recovering from salmonella poisining and I had to take samples of my poo to the doctor every few days. In that situation the ledge can be very helpful. -

I have been up until 3 or 4 am every day doing trip stuff and photos. Please be happy with the TRs as they are now. If I did video also I seriously would not have time to sleep. I tried looking for the video of the poem from last years Euro trip to link to, so borisdag could view it. I think it would be appropriate under the circumstances. I couldn't find it. Does any mod know if it has been removed? Hope you all are having a great time. Its on this page but I don't know how to upload it from the site.... So to all the whiners who may have missed this video, check it out....its from Morgan and its named "the poem" http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36951&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=600 Hey everyone. I was starting to think about my poem again, too. Thanks for posting the link! You can also find it at youtube, if anyone wants a different version Looks like everyone is having a good time again, and I'm so sorry that I couldn't come out to play. Maybe next year. And here's a shout out to all the Panthers! I loved seeing ya'll FEATURED in so many pics. Have fun and represent for all. -

That's good advice. Do you know when the most crowded times are? We're planning on going for the last week, which is the first week of November, basically. -

Wow, thanks for digging that up for me. My stomach is grumbling now! Although most of the items have meat, there are still quite a few vegetarian offerings. I mean, it is the Food and WINE festival, so I'm totally up for just trying lots of wine and letting Markus take care of the food part. Has anyone taken part in an actual wine tasting, (where you get to sample several wines, perhaps paired with special cheeses), at the festival? I something like that even offered as part of the festivities? -

Hi. We were just in Florida in February (check out my vids in the other forum) and we had such a good time we decided we have to go back for the Food and Wine Festival this year. I've been looking through some old threads, and there doesn't seem to be anything specifically for the Food and Wine Festival, so I thought I'd start this thread for people who've been, and people who want to go. Here are my first questions for any experts out there: Food and Wine Festival and the Disney Dining Plan? When we were there in Feb. we had the Dining Plan and thought it was a great deal. Can you use your Dining Plan "points" for the special stuff at EPCOT? Does it make sense to get the Dining Plan again if we're planning on pigging out at EPCOT every night? If we can't use the Dining Plan, is pigging out at EPCOT every night going to be too expensive? Are there enough different things to try that you can pig out every night without boring your taste palet? Wow, I just said pig out like 4 times... Ok, I will leave it at that for now. Food and Wine veterans, help me out! -

A roller coaster over...carpet? Curious. Interesting thread - I love water parks, unfortunately we have so few in New Zealand. Planning to hit some in Florida in May though! YES, over CARPET! I was going to post the same thing, but you beat me to it. Never seen that before... -

Boardwalk Bullet - Photos & POV Video!
MrMorgan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
WOW! I think I have a new favorite coaster, and I've never even ridden it! OK, that's crazy... but anyways. This ride looks so awesome! So many suprise drops, head choppers, and insane turns. I love that it's all nicely packaged inside it's own structure. The layout is so confusing. Can someone tell me, at 2:45 in the video, there's a clip of the train dropping off into seemingly nowhere, but it doens't look like the first drop. What part of the ride is that? Robb, I love the "Coasters in the raw" concept. That is EXACTLY what the market needs, if you ask me. I don't need to hear some studio voice talk about the ride while the POV is going by. Just show me the ride, from all angles, on-ride, off-ride, backwards, wash, rinse, repeat. Awesome. Very good idea! More, more, more! P.S. I hope that doesn't mean we won't be seeing anymore of your "zany antics" videos, though. -

That POV pic of White Cyclone makes it look like the mutant child of the American Eagle, Mr. Twister, and the Coney Island Cyclone! Me likey! How does it compare to those rides? I haven't heard many good things about it, but it's so visually impressive. At least it get's points in the photogenic department. -

I will out myself, (once again), as a White Canyon fanboy. Yes, it was rough, but we found it "fun rough", and not "yucky rough". It was walk-on while we were there and we must have gotten at least 15 rides before we had to go. I also liked Bandit. Kind of like a steel Beast, but with only one lift hill, and the helix in the beginning, and only 1 mid-course brake.... ok so not really anything like the Beast, but still. It doesn't have any airtime so to speak, but is very fast and goes way out thru the woods, like the Beast. Kind of. Anyways. I liked it, too. I can't imagine getting blasted with that huge-a$$ water cannon at the bottom of the first drop, though! When I was there, they were about to begin the "backwards train" promotion. I guess that's been long gone and their newest idea is to turn it into a non Dan-friendly ride. What's next, adding floorless trains? -
Hey. I rode Excalibur in the first year and I can confirm that the small hill after the first drop was removed for the second season, (does that make it a new credit?) Anyways. It was a very small speed bump with intense ejector airtime, (if I remember right), that threw you more forward than up. They were having the problem that smaller riders were getting flipped forward and bashing their faces on the "handle bars" (not the lap bars, the bars for your hands). It was so long ago, I honestly can't tell you if the ride was better with or without it, but it certainly made it more eventful! edit: The small hill of which we are speaking had to have been removed in 1990, not in 1999, as it was removed after the first season. I just checked the dates on RCDB.

The Official "TPR MidWest USA 2007" Trip Thread!

Ahaaaa. Now I get it. I was thinking they would have just some kind of normal A.R.D. on the lift, even though it's sort of launched. Oh, and I'm totally with you on how much it sucks going backwards! We were at Thorpe Park last week, (video coming soon), and I didn't know that that fricken fugged up peice of sheisse indoor coaster "X colon backslash No Way Out" goes backwards the WHOLE TIME?!?!? I HATE hate HATE going backwards. Here I am thinking, "Oh, wow, it must have a turntable someplace because it leaves the station backwards. That's pretty cool." Ya hi duh. Nothing ruins my day and makes MrMorgan more nautious than going backwards, not to mention going backwards thru the dark with several annoying stop and go sections. Sorry to get off topic. Thanks for answering my question! -

Ok, I'm confused. Can someone please explain how Maverick rolled backed? Down the lift? Back down the flat launch section? Was that explained and I missed it? Second question: Does Maverick launch immediately upon entrance of the tunnel, (like shown in the video), or does it stop/slow down first? It looks edited together in the POV part of the video, but it's tough to tell. -

Elllissa, You have a great gift for story telling. Reading you describe the "family raft ride incident" just made me laugh out loud. I wish I had been there. Avalanche is awesome, isn't it?
