  1. ^^I totally agree! I didn't like the layout of BB, either. I'm directionally challenged, and get turned-around and lost very easily. Loved the photo edit, Scott! That was a literal lol.
  2. ^^Robb had to send out my Club TPR magazine three times, because USPS returned it as "undeliverable to this address," twice! The third time, it finally made it here!
  3. *GASP* I am totally envious of the Riverside patch and the Jibbitz ("clog pins")!!!!! If they were real. Which they aren't. I better go email Dan about it.
  4. You should join us on the next TPR cruise - I'm sure that could be arranged!
  5. I probably should have stated in my first post that TL's kids' area was far superior in meeting the particular needs of our family at the time. The kids would all have a blast at the water parks, together!
  6. Elissa - the two main things that I prefer about TL kids' area over BB are 1.) TL has a lot more shade (BB hurts my eyes, it's so freaking bright,) and 2.) I can keep an eye on all three kids at the same time, at TL. Obviously, this isn't as much of an issue with only one child, but as one person trying to keep track of two school-aged kids and a toddler in a water park, I loved that all three could have fun in the same area, and I could see pretty much the entire area from a central location. This way, one of us could stay with the kids, while the other went out on the slides. At BB, it was a lot harder for us to take turns, because it took both of us to keep an eye on all three of them. One of us would have to stay with Charlotte, while the other watched the bigger kids. BB just seemed like a lot more work, for us. We couldn't relax and enjoy it. It would probably be different for us, now that Christian and Rhiannon are a bit older, and would probably venture out beyond the kids' area with us. When we had the passes, two years ago, though, they didn't want to leave the kids' area. They are a lot more adventurous, now. I'll always prefer the TL theming, though. Scott - speed slides tend to hurt/bruise my spine, and I don't appreciate the wedgie factor!
  7. Holy crap - that's amazing! Bow down to the power of TPR!
  8. I much, much, much prefer TL over BB. We had the FL resident 2 Parks after 2 deal, one year. I think we went to BB once, and TL the rest of the time. The kiddie area is far superior at TL, IMO. And I'll never go on Summit Plummet, so Crushin' Gusher FTW! Christian and Rhiannon LOVED that little tube ride in the kiddie area!
  9. Goofy Challenge for 1 person - $310 Family Fun 5K for 3 people (husband and two kids) - $45 x 3 = $135 Family Fun 5K Stroller Division (for me and my 3 year old) = $50 Mickey's Marathon Kids' Fest 100 meter dash (for the 3 year old) = $10 Plus the additional fees for registering online.
  10. I know Renee will be doing the Goofy Challenge, again. I think Colin may be doing it, too? I'm really, really thinking about it. I have a friend who is doing the WDW 1/2 for his first race. His pace is a couple of minutes slower than mine, so I've been thinking that, if I were to do the Goofy, I could run the 1/2 with him at a very easy pace (for me,) and it would be a lot of fun for us to run the whole race together. My husband and two school-aged kids want to run the family 5K, and I just discovered that they have a stroller division, which means we could all run together, so I started thinking about the unofficial "Dopey," of running the 5K, plus the Goofy Challenge. Only concern is that it would be over $500 in registration fees. This really is an addiction!
  11. Got my 15.5 miles in, this morning, in just under 3 hours. I hate the high race registration fees, too - especially Disney! BUT - I love the race atmosphere. As much as I love the solitude of my regular training runs, it's worth it for me to pay for the race experience a few times a year, (especially since I'm not "racing," but just doing it for fun.) I don't know if I'll ever get into ultras, but I don't have any interest in shorter races, either. I like the 13.1 and 26.2 distances. A 5K just doesn't do it, for me - probably because I'll never be fast! Thanks for the link, Gregg. Off to check it out, now!
  12. Great job, Benny! Are you training for a particular race? I have my 15-miler, tomorrow,( that I had to put off last Friday, due to my dental problems. ) This will be my longest run, so far. I'm going to take it very slow, since we are leaving for 4 days at WDW on Thursday morning. Don't want to be sore! Looking forward to seeing your pictures, Gregg!
  13. Ok, that made me spit my coffee, here at work! Yay for the Buckaroo Banzai quotes!
  14. Good luck to all the TPR Disneyland 1/2 Marathon runners, this weekend! Have a great race!
  15. You have now entered my pantheon of must read trip reports.
  16. Just watched the opening number on youtube. LOVED it!
  17. Keep in mind, though, that companies often test products regionally, so they might never be rolled out into other markets. Eric - those were all sugar-free, right?
  18. Peanut butter!!!!!! Although I haven't tried the coconut ones. I am intrigued. I was highly disappointed by the pretzel M&Ms. I thought I would love them, but I found them to be just meh.
  19. I've never cared about the Emmy's. I've never watched the show. I was actually glad to see some of the Glee nominations, though, and am happy for Jane Lynch. I love Edie Falco, but I hate Nurse Jackie. At least the two episodes that I watched. Couldn't take anymore, after that. Love Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory. I think those are the only shows I've seen. I guess I'll have to check out Modern Family, if it's available online. I just really can't stand that guy from Married with Children, in anything that I've seen him in.
  20. I love that poster, too! Elissa - that might just work. If I tell her that you'll be proud of her, if she goes on Space Mountain, she might do it for the bragging rights!
  21. Yes, she did - and she loved it! And she went on Thunderhead twice! And she's been on Tower of Terror! She has a hang-up about Space Mountain, and anything that goes upside-down, though. We're working on it. My goal is to get her on Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Expedition Everest, these next two trips, and RNRC before our passes expire in January.
  22. I'm trying to convince Rhiannon to go on Space Mountain, when we go in a week and a half. Maybe this will help!
  23. Can't help you with the tests, but, as a RN, I would highly recommend that you go into medical engineering. Nursing is brutal work, and you'll make a lot more money as an engineer.
