  1. Which one, the one where I said something like "I'm really strange"? You would think pretty much everyone would figure that out either by reading any of my PTRs/posts or being around me for about five minutes... dt
  2. Much praise for the Ice Bat photo, though I hope someone got a shot of him in all of his flashing necklace glory. dt
  3. Hello, There is already a big topic discussing this ride here. Please continue discussing the new ride there. Thanks! dt
  4. Yeah, I agree. I'm hoping that they'll be replacing the dragons with something that looks cool, but really, couldn't they have left this alone? I don't see how it wouldn't have fit into the theme they're going for (though I know nothing about HP, so maybe there are not any dragons in the books and it wouldn't work). I also agree that this is one of the best themed areas in any park anywhere, and it's sad to see it go away. Kind of sucks they don't have too much expansion room there, and could not have just added another land. And I'm still waiting for them to either knock Mythos down or change it to a burger stand... dt
  5. 1 - I see all three videos 2 - Firefox 2.0.0.17 3 - They all streamed fine 4 - I am excited. I would be even more excited if it somehow involved getting tasty cheeses in the mail, or if there was going to be a Wes Channel... dt
  6. If you find yourself in a book store, be sure to pick up a copy of Brian Keene's Ghost Walk and read the dedication. And be amused. And then buy it! dt
  7. I see all three. Running Firefox. dt
  8. Fuji-Q is one of the worst parks on the planet. I would strongly suggest not going there under any circumstance, unless you enjoy being frustrated by very long lines, crowds, and horrible operations. From your list, I'd rank them: Tobu Zoo (the Intamin mini-hyper is one of the greatest coasters in the world and should not be missed!) CosmoWorld (make sure you go at night!) Yomiuriland LaQua These are all worth visiting if you have the chance. dt
  9. Hooverphonic - This Strange Effect dt
  10. Shadow Gallery - War For Sale dt
  11. Looks pretty cool, certainly better than any Fright Fest I've seen at any SF park before. Good for them for updating the mazes and stuff. And anyone complaining about a $5 wristband charge is insane. That is NOTHING. And it gets you into every maze. I guess people just like to complain. And yes, hot dead chicks rule. dt
  12. This could be my opportunity to get DaveLand off the ground. I'll just re-theme the place to have more attractions devoted to being attacked by giant carnivorous bees, gators, and other fun animals. And more shows with strippers and explosions. I smell a winner! Seriously, not shocked by this at all. Dumbest business plan ever. And building a park where the average temperature is like a billion degrees with no water attractions is, um, not smart. Still, I'm sure this place was better run than Fuji-Q... dt
  13. 8226 in Itunes and the Ipod. All ripped from CDs I own. And I'm not done yet. dt
  14. There's no thread like that. Someone should start one if they have good pictures or something. One of my regrets on these trips is not having pictures of people with their winning prizes, since the prizes are so, um, "interesting". And I'm totally opening the game up for Interpretive Dances next year. Anyone that does enough different dances to get a Bingo certainly deserves a prize! These PTRs are making me regret not signing up for this trip, even though a lot of it was somewhat local to me. I guess I should just sign up for all trips from now on, and then I'll never miss any fun... dt
  15. ^There actually is no death metal on those CDs, so give it a listen. It's probably not too scary. Certainly less scary than the average Elissa Bingo prize. Sometimes I can't figure out what the stuffed animals are supposed to be. I love the Dollar Store... dt
  16. I stopped counting after my #600 was that random Boomerang in Korea that they welded back together right before we rode it. I decided that day that no way was I ever going to get a better "milestone" credit, and just quit counting. I'm sure I'll sit down and figure out my count again at some point (I'd guess that 700 is not too far off now) but right now I'm not really worried abou it. dt
  17. Although this move was not official sanctioned by Elissa Bingo headquarters, I do approve. Did anyone even get close to filling in all of their squares? There were a couple that would be really, really hard to get. Disclaimer: Bag Of Mystery really not all that mysterious... dt
  18. Oh man, that was an amazing update. The photos and captions were comedy gold. And I still love that lift hill on the mouse. You'd swear that thing is going to tip over at any minute. Idlewild is a very underrated park. Hopefully more people will check it out next year. dt
  19. If that bothers you, you're really going to like the Elissa Bingo square next year that will feature you... dt
  20. Bare Wires was a local Baltimore band that some people I know were a part of. They broke up a long time ago. That shirt is like the most comfortable shirt ever, which is why I was wearing it. I have no Bare Wires songs on my Ipod, so keep guessing! There's actually a really easy way to find out some of the bands I listen to on this forum. I'm amazed this still haunts you, though I guess it involved looking at me, which usually requires intensive therapy for most people, so... Freak Kitchen. I WIN. Indeed you do! If you PM me your address, I will send you a prize. dt
  21. ^Ice Bat was working hard guarding the pens on my desk here in the Meteornotes compound. He will have earned enough vacation time to go with me to China, South Korea and Japan next week, so be prepared! dt
  22. Usually schools have started at that point, and the lines are shorter. But be sure to check the park operating hours, as they often cut back on their times at this point in the season. dt
  23. ^BEST. UPDATE. EVER!!! That really made me laugh. If you can get through the Diablo Swing Orchestra song, the rest of it is not nearly as scary. Hope you enjoy all your awesome prizes! dt
  24. As I've said for years, this place is destined to be Condo Land eventually. Property values in the DC area are eventually going to make this too attractive a deal to pass up. SF has neglected this place for years, and are likely just waiting for a really good offer. I really doubt that anyone will come in and buy the park and operate it on their own. I haven't been to the park since 2003, and I live about an hour away. I just don't see the sense in spending my time and money to go to such a run down place. dt
  25. OK, I decided that instead of starting a new thread, I'd just add on to this one. I went back to Hersheypark the day the TPR East Coast trip went to the park, and had an awesome time. Morning ERT was on Fahrenheit and Storm Runner, where I got plenty of rides (3 and 5, respectively). The rest of the day was spent wandering the park and riding random stuff. We did take a trip out to Chocolate World in the afternoon to do the tour and to take advantage of "Make Your Own Cupcake" time. In the evening we enjoyed a catered meal at one of the park picnic areas, and then played THE GREATEST GAME OF TPR TRIVIA EVER. Seriously, this was the most fun game ever, and even my participation wasn't too annoying (I'll try harder next time!). I left before evening ERT as I knew if I stayed I'd be driving off the road on the way home, but everyone I talked to later said their ERT on Lightning Racer and Wildcat was legendary fun. So thanks again to Robb, Elissa and all the trip participants for letting me hang out for the day. Not a lot of photos here, but some amusing ones. Enjoy! dt And we end this update with a photo of Falafel. Who wasn't there, but hey, every PTR could use more Falafel! That's it for this update. Thanks for playing! Please drive thru... Perhaps he has a waiter job in some sort of very odd restaurant in his future. So Robb saw these items sitting around, and the next thing you know, they were on his head. Elissa enjoys her "Make Your Own Cupcake". Which you really didn't make, but instead told someone at the bakery how you wanted it. Which is even better. Any time you can order someone around, it only increases your enjoyment of life. Not that anyone listens to me, of course. You stopped paying attention to this caption many words ago. I can now say stuff like "giant carnivorous bees are in your pants!" and you'll have no idea I said it. Oh well... Hanno and Derek (who also hung out this day) prepare to duel on Lightning Racer. I really wish I could have stayed for ERT that night... Subway rules! And it had a giant line, but we had our food in under ten minutes. That's the way to do it, Hershey! I felt bad for them. Many people had to get their Sidewinder credit. Giant scary plant. Which would be even better if it attacked people. Why can't I own a park?!? Some of the trip people who have just enjoyed another ERT ride. It is all sorts of twisty goodness, though. I like the ride, but thought Storm Runner was delivering the better rides that morning. The day started with Fahrenheit ERT. That's a good way to start the day!
