An opinion is just that. It is biased based on the person giving it. To some, air time is more desireable than speed or force and others like inversions or wood. Maybe if the question was posed like WHY he didn't like MF compared with something else would have been more appropriate - and who nknows if he even would have given you an answer. Most peeps here won't convince you to not like MF, so don't convince other to like MF. This forum is supposed to be for fun, not conflict.

Yeah, I meant the North end in the Cyclone / Catapult / DD Dive area is. Also, the sad and pathetic part was referring to me going solo! (and I guess no pics) But your right about that bridge needed to be opened, that was a god sent.

Today marked my first 06 coaster trip with the "new" Six Flags New England. Got there late today, arriving at 2:00 PM representing with my flashy TPR t-shirt. Went over to get in the season pass line and found it wasn't long at all. Headed over to SRoS and was pleased to see both trains running (at first). But between a breakdown, removing the blue train, and the stupid flash pass, 1hour and 25 mins later, I finally get on. Next I made my way to Batman the Dark Knight, only to fight against the new parade, which was meandering through the park. Now, for those of you not familiar with the park, the paths aren't that big, especially when it's busy. I found myself walking on little kids laps to get by. Batman was also running both trains, which made the wait tolerable considering the awful loading station. After that, walked onto the Buzzsaw, which is a favorite of mine and sporting a new paint job. I learned that Catapult was actually running, so I made a B-line to it. The whole area on the south end looks really good now. I got in the short line and watched it make two whole ride cycles. This thing is sick. So I get on and it starts flipping. While doing the reverse rotations, it keeps going. More so than the first two cycles I saw. Rather than it stopping horizontal and then continue to rotate in the other direction, it stops on a slant. After a couple of minutes, it changed slants so my pod was up at an angle. We sat there for over 5 minutes - but what a nice view! Yes it broke down (shocker), but after letting us down, they gave us VIP exit passes for ANY ride in the park good for the whole season. Pretty neat. So after that debacle, I headed over to the "new" Cyclone. The reconfigured entrance is almost worth riding it alone (since I am not a fan of it). Between that and the paint job, I was gonna give it a go. Rough as usual, but tolerable. After I picked up my fillings, I figured no better ride to use the eixt pass on than Pandemonium (formally belonging to Mr Six). What was great was the attendant did not take my exit pass prior to the ride. So I made my way to close out the day with a "quck" ride on SRoS to close out the day. All in all, for just a few hours in the park, I accomplished a lot. Park looks clean. The new splash water falls area looks nice (line was too long), but there are a few voids which need to be filled in the park. Good day all in all with more to come.

Wow, that looks like that has some serious speed over the hump. And what's up with the double horn? Is that part of the launch alert? Because it seems a bit delayed. -
There was a documentary about Goliath on TV a year or two after it was built. Maybe it was on Discovery, I am not sure. Just a little tid bit for you. They discussed it all the way through its construction.

Roller Coaster Riding World Record
sfne2005 replied to Eagle Rider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I rode SRoS@SFNE one hour straight and I was gonna be sick Sheikra would be mine as well; or maybe even TTD, though I am sure I'd last longer than the ride itself. -
Ever had a black out on a coaster?
sfne2005 replied to Dark Vampire's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The overbank on Millenium Force after the drop, the helixes on Nitro and Goliath @ SFMM, and the occassional Batman the Ride at the brake run. -
I just watched the El Toro video again, and noticed a similar (not exact) layout as SROS @ SFNE. Anyone else? El Toro has the same number of drops on the way out, similar right hand overbank, 2 more camels, then a couple of high banked corners (where SROS has them in helix form), then a camel after that (instead of SROS's 3 camels). Dunno, just my thoughts. That will mean it will be a great ride imo! Rich

What is the best floorless?

Let's see, I have been on Medusa (east) Batman: Knight Flight (which is Dominator now) Batman: the Dark Knight Hydra Scream. I personally like Hydra the best. Smoothest inversions, unique beginning, unique layout. -

viking86 wrote: ^^^Ummm I think you might be confusing Speedmonster and Humdinger @ Thorpe park. Speedmonster is at Tusenfryd in Norway Yea but some of us are taking a Scandanavian side trip after the UK parks I agree, this thing could end up being awesome! That loop thingy could be really fun, perhaps this will be the accelerator to dethrone Storm Runner? Parktrips is right, Many of us are going to ride this when we go on the UK trip as an extra day! -

Artistic help or ideas for a tattoo?

Where are all the creative people? I thought there'd be someone who is artistic or good with computers who could come up with cool images -
Artistic help or ideas for a tattoo?
sfne2005 replied to sfne2005's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
US Road Tripper, Too funny that you posted that pic. I have been searching all night and my buddy and I found that one too before I checked back here. I was drawing tribal stuff on each side of it! -
OK, here's the story. I want to get my first tattoo, though I don't know what to get. I want something that is relative to who I am and representative of my interests. Which brings me to this page since coasters is one of my interests. I don't want a particualr coaster (since my favorite may change in the future). So anyone have any ideas or drawings of anything coaster related (maybe a track design, or something like the new RCDB.com picture) which I could consider? Maybe even something like Boulder Dash's with a generic wooden coaster front car) with peeps hands in the air? I found only one person on the net with a coaster tattoo, and that was the layout of nemesis @ Alton Towers, and it is not distictive enough to be recognized as such to many enthusiasts, never mind a non enthusiast. Just throwing that idea out there, even though its a little dorky. Thanks, Rich

Discovery Channel Needs YOUR help!
sfne2005 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The new coasters I am most anticipating for 06 would be those which I plan to ride; SFGADV woodie, Voyage @ Holiday World, and Goliath @ SFOG. It'd be nice if TPR members could be on that show, like a group trip! woohoo.
