Given the reputation of this park's clientele, that sounds like a supremely bad idea. Kinda kidding a bit. I graduated from U Albany in NY and we had a giant tunnel system to get from the dorms to the lecture halls. They were closed when I went there because of the assaults that were committed down there.

Knoebels Discussion Thread
MisterBrow replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Next week was planned to be my first trip to Knoebels. I am injured and the family is going without me. Knowing that the food is great and because I know everyone here likes to rank specifics I'll throw out this question: What are the top five foods at the park? -
Coasters and Kidney Stones
MisterBrow replied to djcoastermark's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There are also those reports that drinking beer is good to help deal with preventing large kidney stones. So, coaster rider and beer drinker? Check and check. -
Favorites 1. Cedar Point More than anything because it occupied the number slot on the coaster bucket list for so long and they kept adding coasters I wanted to ride. It was on the life bucket list. You can spend days and never even bother with riding a flat. Love having the view of the lake on three sides. 2. BG Williamsburg My wife isn't a coaster fanatic and she can enjoy this park. The kids have favorite coasters here, I have favorite coasters here. It is just really nice and relaxing and feels vacationy without traveling all the way to Orlando and feeling pressed to get my money's worth. 3. Hershey Great coasters, something for everyone close to each other. A lot of great family memories. Chocolate. 4. BG Tampa I like having the animal exhibits by the rides and along the paths. Cheetah is a good example of a coaster not having to be the biggest, tallest, fastest to be fun. But, the park does have some of those too. Maybe having SFA as my home park makes me appreciate the landscaping at the BGs more. 5. Lake Compounce This was a tough call between SFNE because of (Superman and Cyclone) and Kennywood but right now I am putting LC there. Boulder Dash and just how it is tucked in between the hill and the lake. I am also counting the sky ride. Pinks hot dogs. Not having to lug refillable cups with me, instead, just free drinks is tough to beat. Bucketlist 1. Knoebels It seems as though this circumstances are going to cancel the planned trip there again. I want to graze and ride and repeat. 2. Dollywood I was there when it just had shows and like a blacksmith and a glassblower. It has gotten better and better and I have only been back through that part of the country once since then. 3. SFMM It has several ride credits. My then fiance and I flew out to LA and went all the way down to Tijuana and back. We then went to Napa Valley and back. We just couldn't fit it in. Driving back to LA I did drive right past it. It was a call between Disneyland, Knotts, and SF and we went Disney. 4. Carowinds 325. Lived in Charlotte for a year. Figured I would always have the opportunity, but I moved. 5. SF Fiesta Texas Iron Rattler. Most of my family worked in a stone quarry in NY. The idea of a park inside of a quarry just seems so cool. I stayed in North America and didn't consider the Disney/Universal/Sea Worlds. Setting and missed opportunities seems to guide my preferences. I guess what's great is that once one of these bucketlist parks is crossed off another will be added.

Most intense brake run?
MisterBrow replied to Mikxy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I always brace myself for that stop and, yes, you are moving quickly at that point looking right at a stopped train in front of you. Whenever I ride a new coaster I watch and listen the people coming into the brake to see if anyone yells UG!. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
MisterBrow replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I will go with Dungavenhooter. According to the Wikipedia is is crocodile creature with no mouth, instead having huge nostrils. Uses its tail to pound loggers into a gas, which it then inhales for sustenance. It is one of the Fearsome Critters (plural hence the they) of lumberjack folk lore. Rougarou, Valravn, and Dungavenhooter... I'm totally kidding but I was googling rougarou/ valravn/ groups of mythical creatures urban legend. It's fun to say. Dungavenhooter. -
I think the reason they don't open Bat Wing at rope drop is because half the people burst into flames walking to the rear of the park. Seriously, Google Map the park. There is little shade. Crazy Horse has the same booth food but at least it is inside and since ME is the only coaster over there usually not packed and you get a show.
-
My 12 year-old was at the water park with friends and was given the directive to run back to snap some pictures of the shade structures at the Fireball entrance and exit. She did admit to riding MindEraser... but only because they ate at Crazy Horse. So, I guess it evens out. *One portrait and one landscape.

I have to think that with Cedar Point and Disney realizing the whole let's build for youth athletics or competitions, the stadium stays and they ramp up booking events there, or at least utilize it for FF. I agree Battle for Metropolis is a long shot even after the trend has passed, as is the long shot on RMC Roar. The stand up coaster is still a novelty for the GP, so yes, they are down the list. What I really want is a real fantasy of the Great Escape sky ride from CC to BW. If they expand at all connecting with a path is the direction which increases the developed space in a relatively small park and yes, signals a major expansion. There are already some trees and while bathrooms don't make money the can be effective in moving people in a direction- sometimes with urgency. You build that path and you divert feet and money that way. Exit coasters through the gift shops. Throw a Munchopolis there... The path idea is out there because it gives them options and there is traction because it does make sense, especially looking at the map. They don't have to do the path in one shot. VR didn't drive the crowds that way but HitP made people remember that that section was there. V2 and expand the Creek theming? JBs smokehouse and/or Macho Nacho makes the dead end a destination and drives those dining pass sales? Use that space for another haunt during FF. Spinsanity or another flat or Catwoman whip the year after a water park add that can run during FF and HitP? Connect and just let us dream about what fills the space that's left and we're in 2023 and I'm like 50 and then getting concerned about the teenagers and how can I retire in Sandusky. Realistically... we just got WWloT so next year a waterpark thing and the MindEraser trains then the following year drop something like a spinsanity next to WWloT or a well placed V2 between BW and SM still begins the path building the next year.

In order of likeliness / order of implementation this is what I am hearing from this thread : 1. New trains on MindEraser 2. Hand-me-down V2 (I would propose theming to Aquaman since that movie is out winter 2018) 3. A path connecting the Coyote Creek to Batwing. A bathroom and maybe a tree or two. 4. 4D coaster (I dig the red and black Harley Quinn theming idea) 5. Macho Nacho! (Have to think the Mexican booth is gathering market data) 6. A Spinsanity 7. Convert Apocalypse 8. Battle for Metropolis where the stunt stadium is 9. RMC Roar 10. Replace JJ because at this point it will have stranded more people Congratulations. We have planned out park improvements for the next ten years. Screw the waterpark. SF can fire the people that make these decisions we figured it out for them.

If you say so. I go probably too much...lol..I haven't even seen an argument. One reader from GAdv said it best. Save for maybe Disney, every park has its riff raff. We're not the GP. I haven't seen any real issues in years and the minor ones I have seen I have simply snapped into school teacher mode and corrected other peoples' kids. More importantly, Screamscape rumor of SF building two more 4Ds and theorizes a 2 in 3 chance that we get one. It would be awesome, however, I think a hand me down coaster is more likely. We could always repaint and retheme JJ and build the 4D Joker on the path from the Creek to Superman.
-
I don't see Joker's Jinx going anywhere. It just needs a paint job. The last group of stranded riders was due to a broken wheel and the coaster shut down like it should. It's a good coaster I that I reride before stepping foot on Apocalypse or MindEraser once. If it did go it wouldn't go to Great Escape because it is not a 48" coaster and would not fit where a ride is needed back by Comet. If there is a ride exchange it would be SFA getting the infamous SkyRide from Great Escape.

Weird Roller Coaster Dreams
MisterBrow replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not so much weird as it was intense. About three weeks ago I dislocated and fractured my kneecap. (Similar to the Bethany Mattex-Sands injury at Wimbledon a few days ago except I was in a batting cage without a horrified crowd). With all of the opioids being ineffective for the pain they decided to give me Ketamine to put me out in order to put my knee back in place. Think of your happy place and count back from 100 they said. The lights in the ceiling kept lapping over and over and I thought I was on the most awesome and tallest coaster loop ever. -
After letting my imagination run with the thoughts of a 315' coaster a Star Flyer/Screamer makes the most sense. Small footprint, easy to theme, 315' makes it barely taller than KD's but taller none the less, coincidentally the same height as KD's Eiffel Tower but a ride and nor an observation deck, and laughs at SFA's Wonder Woman by 70'. More over, it is basic ride that they don't have with no need to challenge 400' mark. The important part would be to keep the ride height at 48".

I don't know much about the place other than a girl I went to high school with was from there. Oh and Snooki lmao. But anytime I've mentioned my train took me there everyone has responded by telling me how much a sh*thole it is. I grew up on the other side of the river and so spent many high school and college age nights at shows there, and yes, if you wanted the train to the city that's where you went. It's just when Po'town is compared to the other villages and towns on that side of the river it's ugliness is magnified I think.
