Lakemont Park changes
MisterBrow replied to thrillrider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Since it is next to the AA baseball stadium I would assume you would have some baseball fans that would take some swings. -
Faster would be the little cut from ROAR to Whistle Stop, maybe marginal time wise but not walking away from where I am going and back. Without the mythical unicorn path after walking out to Bat Wing and then back tracking I don't even take the turn to the creek, I largely ignore the whole section. Never do I go into CC and then backtrack out to BW. It's rare to even go into CC. That's not good money wise. However, with the magic sunny rainbow unicorn path I would go left, fill my big ugly refillable cup, take a quick ride on the new ME trains, a dry ride on the rapids, after thinking about water ride BW, wish there was a restroom, ride SM until I have to pee, decide I can hold it to ride WWloT, do that urgent walk through a sweltering Gotham, pee, refill my big ugly refillable cup, ride JJ, get stuck on JJ and be glad I peed... I agree to negotiate relocating trees and a bathroom and drop the conversation. Or, how about a super gold pass that allows me to cut through from ROAR to Whistle Stop?

There already is a service road through the trees and I guess I am trying to avoid that awkward endless egg frying path in the back of the park. But, since we are playing in the realm of fantasy... how about expanding the water park back and replacing ME with a water coaster and connecting in front of the rapids? Then at least the short path to Whistle Stop wouldn't be too crazy. I just want to get in the gate and go straight to Superman.

That's honestly an insane number from 2016 to 2017. If it were the previous year it would stand to reason with the addition of Holiday in the Park, but it's hard to chalk this up to much of anything other than a likely jump in attendance and possibly more efficient ride crews. Great job! Just think, they can duplicate that increase next year just by swapping the trains on Mind Eraser because so many flat out skip it.

The Official "TPR Coaster Poll" Thread!
MisterBrow replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hadn't redone my rankings since I let my spreadsheet get too far behind. I was pleasantly surprised how well PR and Cheetah Hunt did as I started to plug away. I must admit, ranking the bottom three is more fun and decisive. -
Tower swing rides
MisterBrow replied to WestCoasterKing's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The bigger tower swings have a bench for two people and so get eight chains (four on each seat). Even on the smaller ones with single seats, if two chains managed to break you're still going to hang on. Even these dinky trailer chains are rated for 2,000 lbs, the next size up at 5,000, and you get that times 8. https://www.etrailer.com/Safety-Chains-and-Cables/Curt/C80011.html -
The Official "TPR Coaster Poll" Thread!

To all that are working on this a huge thank you. Of course now we move into the realm of feedback which I hope isn't taken negative. + I stopped keeping a spreadsheet, but totally would be the easiest way to enter the rankings + Going through the big list 10-20 at a time is probably the best way. The first ten is like voting for the baseball HOF, if it's a question it isn't an answer. The next group being the group even a casual enthusiast would likely argue with others over. The second group you can vividly remember riding and why you like it and would like to ride it right now. That gets you to a good top 50 to tinker with. The middle of my list are good coasters but some I had to YouTube to make sure I wasn't confusing them. + Clicking on the park brings up all coasters in that park and you can quickly select the ones you've ridden. Harder to miss one. - My Chromebook wouldn't scroll the screen up when I dragged. So I had to drop, scroll, drag, drop, scroll, drag... - I would get a saved message and the order would stay but the number ranking didn't always change. Even after hitting the save button - I ended up tabbing and fixing the numbers and saving. + Logged back in the next day and it's all there. -
Good Eating Outside of Theme Parks
MisterBrow replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Pierce's outside of BG Williamsburg and definitely if you are at Great Wolf Lodge. We bring a cooler and load up. Had a good meal at Ceviche Latin Kitchen outside of Quassy. -
Do you remember how long it took to install WWLoT? That was a relatively easy install. That Lazy River will fit its lazy name and open in time for it to be too cold to use. From the website:12/16- Show your Samsung smartphone & enjoy exclusive ride time after the park closes! Samsung smartphone owners can enjoy exclusive ride time for a half hour after the park closes on December 2 and December 16. To participate, all you have to do is show your Samsung smartphone at the event table in the park on event day to receive your event wristband.* I just think it is hysterical that people will be boarding with the wristband and therefore boarding the ride with their phone since the park doesn't have fluffy bunnies and medicine goo.

A couple of random mine coasters without captions to send us into, "WTF coaster is that they found along the way?!?!" moments. Can't beat the fare, just keep repeating that price point the whole way... O to be young without kids or pets. Before kids the wife and I flew out of BWI into Burbank cheap and crashed with friends. LA, Lego land... Tijuana... LA... and up to Napa Valley. Honestly, I think I've grown accustomed to reading the regulars' trip reports here that it didn't even dawn on me that wasn't a coaster trip.

After months of hype and speculation and the DIppin' Dots guy said JJ is being removed and I heard a worker saying he can't wait until the stand up coaster is gone and I saw a guy with an RMC shirt poking around ROAR and me just saying hey man, can we get that path??? The New for 2019! announcement will be a new sign and name for Mind Eraser.

Chop Stix is great! When I want my drink refilled and don't want to wait in a line because nobody is eating in there. My teenager was there Saturday. She raved about how well Roar and WO were running. I asked her if rode RC and she said her friend's mom rode with them and it spun more than ever. I wonder if they squirted some WD-40 in there because it seems like the reports are that it is spinning more. So if SFNE's Mind Eraser is getting new Riddler paint to go with the new cars I wonder if SFA's ME will get new cars and a new name that fits that section. Like not even paint it just call it Coyote Coaster.

Planning 2018 road trip....HELP!
MisterBrow replied to sfriday1998's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is exactly how we have been doing it. Pick a chain and rack up loyalty rewards. We have been using Choice lately but just because they had locations where we were going. If there is one that you haven't signed up before enroll and take advantage of the sign up offer.
