  4. Can't wait to experience all of the new rides on my 60 inch screen! Gonna be awesome!
  5. ^The arch is simply being relocated to accommodate the addition of the Skull Island mini-realm, as far as I knew. I believe the arch will return exactly as it was in a new location deeper into the slightly smaller Jurassic Park island.
  6. It is definitely for the Kong ride. Jurassic Park isn't being rebranded as Jurassic World at this time.
  7. This weekend D23, the official Disney Fan Club hosted a two (technically three) day event rewinding history to provide an in-depth look at Disney Parks history, including an unprecedented look back at the New York 1964 World's Fair. No photography or videography was allowed during the event with the exception of offerings outside of panels. Special thanks to Orlando Attractions Magazine for providing the included interview footage, as well as looks at the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit and the Mickey's of Glendale pop-up shop. They're already playing to my fandom! Didja? Starjets were well represented here! Looks like a Nautic-jet from Wild- und Freizeitpark Klotten. This malnourished force was once a resident of World of Motion. He's happy not to be bacon. A recent transplant from the former Maelstrom attraction at Epcot. Anyone remember the marquee from Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at the Magic Kingdom Park? This piece used to be on it! Can I possibly survive? Albums from the 1964 World's Fair... Lots of well-preserved items from the Walt Disney Archives! Almost like you could've picked them up yesterday. Pristine condition! And so neat to look at! Mold-A-Rama machines were all the rage at the 1964 World's Fair. Lots of different collectible options from the machines at the fair. Presidents perhaps? How about some dinosaurs? They even had a restored, working Mold-a-Rama machine from the fair! So cool to see up close! The neat program given to guests at the event. The schedule for day one... And day two... Here were some of the goodies that guests received for attending the event... The Tower of the Four Winds from the entrance to it's a small world at the 1964 World's Fair was represented as a special pin. This neat stamp allows D23 users to access exclusive content for the next six months via their tablets by tapping the stamp against their tablet screen while logged into D23.com. Guests were also given a commemorative MagicBand. This one is definitely going on the shelf! Over in Mickey's of Glendale, I splurged on a lot of things I probably didn't need but couldn't resist buying! I couldn't resist buying this Horizons mural print. It was another must-have item! I bought all of these as well. I might have a problem. MUST HAVE! The last time I was in one of these, the ride was still operating in 1999. Didja? Another more recent addition to Walt Disney World history was Snow White's Scary Adventures. Didja? Stopped over at Kona Cafe during the event's lunch break for this awesome burger with spicy fried shrimp and brie on top! Another really neat element of the event was the revival of the fan-favorite WorldKey system from EPCOT Center. The Walt Disney Archives was able to find and restore the software that ran in EPCOT Center's Computer Central and WorldKey to allow guests to try it out once more for the weekend. It was a cool flashback, especially for those of us that never got the chance to try out the original. I loved playing around with the system! Commodore Amiga-level text graphics. Bit was the system's Mr. DNA, acting as a guide and a narrator as you navigated through the system to get information on park attractions, entertainment or to make dining reservations. Sadly, the system wouldn't let me set up a reservation for Le Cellier. So awesome! Fun Fact: The fantastic Tip Top Colada from the Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Tower can be made on request at The Wave Lounge in the Contemporary Resort. Time for Pleasure Island Rewind! [vine] [/vine][vine] [/vine] The Colonel commandeered the screen to introduce the return of the Adventurer's Club. I didn't see the show before it closed, so it was a first time experience for me. Pleasure Island Rewind also featured the return of the Comedy Warehouse. They have a great knack for hilarious improv comedy. [vine] [/vine] Time to start counting down to the New Year! [vine] [/vine][vine] [/vine] Time to start counting down to the New Year! I managed to catch a shirt thrown from the stage by DJ Elliott! It turns out that this was the last "Special Guest of the Night" shirt that was found in the inventory at Pleasure Island before it was cleared out. I'm so excited to add it to my collection! I had such a great time at the D23 Destination D: Attraction Rewind event this weekend. This event was further proof that D23 continues to be the premier source for Disney history and unique experiences for fans. I can't wait until the D23 Expo next August! Good news everyone! The Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special will be returning to Disney's Hollywood Studios starting next week for the busy holiday season! Be sure to go check them out!
  8. Universal Orlando has sent us a press release about the return of Hot Butterbeer!
  9. http://seaworldparks.com/seaworld-orlando/attractions/shows/sea-lion-high/ SeaWorld Orlando has sent us a press release regarding the new show!
  10. Dubai Parks and Resorts has sent us a press release announcing their partnership with Picsolve for all imaging at the new mega-entertainment complex.
  11. This is still directly relevant to our other discussion about the current status of CNL parks. This discussion can be continued here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=69302
  12. Looks like it'll be a nice place to put the ride! I wasn't a huge fan of the ride when it was at Old Town, so I can only hope it runs a little better (with better maintenance) in this new home.
  13. Now that the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival 2014 is over, I thought I'd share a recap of all of the food items I tried this year... And there were a lot! This year saw the addition of two new items at the Farm Fresh booth, the Bacon Hash and the Yard Bird, pictured at center. The dish on the far left is the Empanada from Patagonia (formerly Argentina) and on the far right is the Lamb Chop with pesto and potato crispies (crushed potato chips) from Australia. Here is the Black Pepper Shrimp and Noodles from the China booth. Also new this year was the Carrot Cake at the Hops and Barley Market. This was definitely not a traditional take on carrot cake with its melted cream cheese sauce versus a traditional cream cheese frosting, but it was amazing! The Brazilian Cheese Bread was also a new option at the Brazil booth this year. It was a little too soggy for my taste, but there were others in my group that loved it. The new Cheese Plate at the Hops and Barley Market was also a winner! It isn't a trip to the Food and Wine Festival without some Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup from the Canada Booth! The new Puerto Rico booth brought several awesome new items, including the fantastic Conch Salad, which was light and refreshing! The Crabless Crab Cake was the first item I ever tried from the Terra booth (vegetarian foods). The item was made with tofu, which I normally enjoy, but this didn't have any distinct flavor and the consistency was grainy in an unpleasant way. Definitely not my favorite thing I tried this year... The Sea Salt Caramel Creme Brûlée was a new take on the France booth's typical inclusion of a creme brûlée. It had a great flavor but the caramel came on a bit strong for me, so I couldn't finish it myself. The Refreshment Port (found between the Puerto Rico and Canada booths) now offers a take on the trendy Cronut (listed as a Croissant Donut). Do worry though! This item is still available despite the Food and Wine Festival being over! The Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream is always a winner at the Belgium Booth! The Beijing Roasted Duck in a Steamed Bun was a new item for the China booth, and definitely my favorite out of anything I've ever tried there. The Empanada at Patagonia (formerly Argentina) has been a favorite of mine for years, and thankfully it continues to please! The France booth changed up its typical escargot preparation (formerly three snails served with a garlic sauce in mini brioche) for a new presentation. The Escargot Tart puts the snails in the same garlic sauce but carries it within a flakey, crumbling tart and tops it with bacon. The flavors were good as before, but the consistency and stability of the tart itself didn't really appeal to me as much as the brioche used to. The Le Cellier Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with Truffle Butter Sauce is always a crowd-pleaser... And a great excuse to get more soup! I've always been a huge fan of the Lobster and Seafood Fisherman's Pie at the Ireland Booth. Sorry there was a bite taken out of it before I took the photo. I was so eager to have it that I totally forgot to take the photo beforehand! This one is kind of a cheat since you can get it year round, but I almost always pick one up when I'm enjoying the Food and Wine Festival. The Grand Marnier slush is a heavenly drink laced with delicious Grand Marnier cognac, and a must-have while at Epcot. The Florida Grass Fed-Beef Slider from the Hops and Barley Market was good, but not amazing. Two classic favorites from the Greece booth were the Griddled Greek Cheese with Pistachios and the Spanakopita. It was my first time ever having Gyoza having missed them while in Japan. I seriously couldn't get enough of these things! These were my new favorite item out of the ENTIRE event! The Kerrygold Cheese Plate from the Ireland booth is always a winner for cheese lovers like myself, especially for those mourning the loss of the Country of Cheese booth. The Lamb Chop from Australia is another one of my all-time favorites from the festival. The Lobster Alfredo from the Hops and Barley Market was another new item, but sadly it didn't impress. The Spicy Hand Roll and the Chirashizushi were both fantastic at the Japan Booth. I almost never get anything from the Morocco booth but the new Mimosa Royale sounded too good to pass up, and I was happy to find it was just as delicious as it looked! The Mongolian Beef Bun at the China booth was a returning classic and always worth a go! The new Craft Beers area in the old Odyssey Restaurant serves some cold, prepared food items including these Muffuletta Pinwheels. They were solid but I actually enjoyed the house-made pickles more than the pinwheels themselves. The Fresh Potato Pancake with Smoked Scottish Salmon and Herb Sour Cream was a great start to my first time trying the Scotland booth. All for the Elissa... These potstickers from China are always a winner. The Seared Rainbow Trout was also a solid returning food option for the Canada Booth. The Rib-Eye Taco is a solid choice for Mexico as well. The iCing Grapefruit Sparkling Rice Brew was an intriguing, delicious option from the South Korea booth. The Roasted Verlasso Salmon from Patagonia had a great sauce and flavor behind it! The Seared Sea-Scallop with Spinach-Cheddar Gratin and Crispy Bacon was also a winner! The Schinkennudeln at Germany has always been one of my favorites and continues to please! The Spicy Pimento Cheese Dip from the Craft Beers area really grew on me! And if you find that you're adventurous (or addicted like I am), there is a new'ish option for the Grand Marnier Slush in France to have the drink super-sized with a double shot of Grand Marnier, served in a larger glass. It is the best. Here you see the Tostones from Puerto Rico (which were fantastic), the Frozen San Juan Breeze with a Don Q Limon Floater (AMAZING) and the Aulani Sunset from Hawai'i (also fantastic)! The Vegetarian Haggis from Scotland was comparable to a potato pancake, served with mashed potatoes and a rutabaga mash. A good option as well!

  16. ^The lack of updates on this thread is a pretty clear indication that nothing of further note has happened with this park since you last posted. When there is news, someone will post it on this thread.

  21. It is great to see that despite the total purchase deal with Lucasfilm, Disney is still going to collaborate with George Lucas and continue to pick his brain. I'm seriously hoping that this film has some kind of throwback to Labyrinth... Particularly a reprise of Dance Magic Dance.
  22. Merlin Entertainments has sent us a press release regarding the latest milestone reached on The Orlando Eye project. Here is a photo I took today showing the outer wheel's construction progress!
  23. A reader of Theme Park Review has sent us some new photos from Ferrari World indicating some new developments are on the way for the park! At the end of the new Mission: Ferrari show, the following message is displayed on the wallast. Sitting outside is a whole staging area full of a whole mess of brand new coaster embeds (the steelwork that goes inside the concrete footers and serve as the connection point for the footers).
  24. 1. Streaming Services (though Blu-Ray is close behind) 2. Hulu Plus, Netflix, HBO Go and ITunes 3. I buy about 10 to 20 Blu-Rays a year 4. I have an Apple TV and a Chromecast 5. I will rarely watch any content on YouTube with the exception of YouTube-specific channels like Theme Park Review.
  25. I seriously wish my family could've done something like this for Halloween when I was growing up! This is so awesome!
